Every time I see a "if it were written by" video, I stop everything, I grab my headphones, and I take the time to completly enjoy the song ! And this one almost make my cry...!
You sir, are a mad genius. I've never even considered this pairing, would never have thought of it. But you made it work beautifully. Loved all the Telegraph Road vibes. Kudos!
This one is fantastic. I knew to expect some decent Knopflering on this track, and I got it... but honestly what sells it as a (late-period) Dire Straits song is that iconic keyboard/piano pairing in the style of Alan Clark + Guy Fletcher. Time spent getting that right is what locks the cover in place for me. I love Mark Knopfler through every stage of his long career, but this is an inspired cover that makes it very clear you don't just know who Knopfler is, but who Dire Straits are as a band and brand unto themselves.
Your skill is beyond reckoning; this sounds nothing like Dragonforce (which was the point), could easily be slotted into a Dire Straits album, and does every bit of justice to the original song Marvelous!
@martinbristow3272 I listened to the original.. I must be getting old. Laszlo's version is definitely better. I won't bother listening to the original again. Though the one guitar player has some awesome long hair!
Wow. Frickin' awesome. I didn't want it to end. I love Telegraph Road, and love TTFAF...never imagined they could birth this. It's like you got your chocolate in my peanut butter. Mmmmmmm.
This is amazing. I'm not a fan of the original... But this. Wow. Well done! Like others have said... This could be put on a Dire Straits album and fit so naturally on it. *Listens to it again.*
many thanks, i enjoyed it very much. did you ever contact mark knopfler? maybe you could play with him together somewhere sometime... i would definitely come and listen!
I love your works anc covers, and you really nailed the style of Dire Straits, but only one issue that I feel is, given that Knopfler sang and played leads, it feels unnatural listening to constant fills and solos under voice singing (and even taking into account that he could do that on recordings, it was still to some fairly easy and minimal lick levels and timed to his lyrics). I know it’s covers of songs in different styles, not original Dire Straits or direct immitation of them, but just wanted to leave this comment here.
Thanks man! I get what you're saying. I usually try to limit the fills and solo parts during the singing, to keep it realistic. But at the same time try and keep it interesting, and not just play chords the whole song until the solos. Knopfler is definitely able to pull of some lead work, while singing, but as you said, not too flashy. 😁

Same here. Definitely adding this to my Awesome Mowing Mix.

No one was expecting it, but you delivered it anyway, and it's fucking amazing
Thanks!

I've never heard of that song. I'm going to check it out now ( but I'm sure I'll like this version more!)

@@lovesloudcars I only know the original song through the insanely amazing cover by (then) 15 year old Tina S on TH-cam.
Wonderful ❤🎉
Beautiful rendition ! Was more chill than I expected but was fire regardless 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks a lot man!
That was cool. It even sounded like it was edging towards comfortably numb at the end.
Brilliant performance 👍👍🎸🎸
Reminds me of the Fish solo album A Feast of Consequences. Great fusion!
Damn, this is about to be fire!!
Or flames!
@LaszloBuring can't even listen to it while it premiers, this heat will have to wait unfortunately, gonna be anticipating it
Wow. Frickin' awesome. I didn't want it to end.

great as always
Thanks again!
That was beautiful!
This is indistinguishable from an original Dire Straights tune! Absolutely amazing!!!
Amazing
Didn't even need to listen, thumbs up just for the concept. Knopf on brother.
Que genio este flaco!!!!!!!!
This is amazing. I'm not a fan of the original... But this. Wow.
Well done!
Like others have said... This could be put on a Dire Straits album and fit so naturally on it.
*Listens to it again.*
Hahah, thank you very much!
Cool!!!!
Fantastisch! Nooit gedacht dat je dit nummer in de dire straits stijl kon doen, maar natuurlijk krijg jij het weer voor elkaar. Petje af!
Hahaha, soms moet je de uitdagingen opzoeken.
Seems a bit unfair one can only give 1 thumbs up😮 good thing I have 2 yt accounts😂 great start of the weekend tnx mate!
Hahaha, bedankt Arjan! Goed weekend!
many thanks, i enjoyed it very much. did you ever contact mark knopfler? maybe you could play with him together somewhere sometime... i would definitely come and listen!
It makes me think that this is actually Mark
You are a genius
Мне нравится музыка Dire Straits, мне нравится музыка Dragonforce, а их соединение звучит и вовсе непередаваемо - мурашки по коже.
Thank you!
Wow! Herman Li needs to hear this.
I might send it over to him, hahah
Long enough to be a dire straits song. Nah, not complaining haha.
Hahaha, it did help that the original is 5 minutes already!
This on spotify?
Not yet, I release them on Spotify once every few months, so I can bundle a bunch of songs in an album.
Idk how copyright works in regards to covers but do you upload to sporify?
They are allowed, but most of the royalties go to the original artists. You can find them under my name on Spotify! 😄
Cool
Telegraph Flames!
Okay but now I need to hear Dragonforce do Money For Nothing
@@DeoMachina Hahah, you're gonna need a Dragonforce expert for that!

Sounds more like Pink Floyd than Dire Straits.
5 from 10 but most important keep up the good work
the fuck are you talking about
is this AI? i mean, how is this humanly possible? can a computer simulate a soul?
Hahah, it is definitely not. Just me, a big fan! 😁
