@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGEheey Dane...im a subscriber to your channel even though im not a actual truck driver but i wanted to be since i was a small child from the late 60s. Kenworth is my fave trucks and it doesnt get any cooler than the k100s. I love the COEs alot. The progress u made on Grasshopper is awesome. Almost makes me want to get one for fun. Anyway, keep the sunny side up and the greasy side down! ✌
The FWD is a Dodge T80 [lcf] cab. The difference is the door handle, lock mechanism is higher on the FWD truck. The cab was actually made by the Checker Motors company.
Buddy who was with you thinking the FWD cab was a Binder cab, Chicago Manufacturing Co made the cab you see on Binders, Canadian Leyland, Hendricksen and Diamond T and REO. Like the R-190 or a Wescoaster cab, that's the same cab on a Hendricksen, Leyland, etc.
Hello driver, watching your new videos as u post them on any giving day is something to look forward to but actually watching video as my dad is in hospice care is therapy to me. I will remember him in the past just as you show us the trucks of the past...Mr Dane thanks for being an amazing awesome dude , 10-4 driver im gone
Geese I'm sorry to hear that buddy. I know it's ruff and nothing prepares us for losing our parents. Enjoy the moments left and get as much information from him as he's able to share. I was so glad I asked my Dad a lot of questions I always wondered about. Two days later he was gone. Hang in there buddy. :(
O-H-I-O Porters🇺🇸 I figured if you had a few days out there that you would see a gold mine of trucks & such! WOW! No disappointment there! That North American trailer was like my dad had & he was a NA Van Lines agent. That sure got my attention! So many good trucks & then you got some history behind the guy’s own trucks! That’s sensational! Can’t wait to see your next episode! I imagine you saw some cool buses as well. We may have to run out there together with some trailers to bring some goodies back! I have a guy who could possibly help. Such exciting stuff my friend. And to see Grasshopper rolling under its own power. I was there to hear it run & then this. Powerful! Thanks for sharing! Blessings! 🥰🤩✌️
Buses? Did you say Buses? Hmmmm🤔 I should do an episode on those for sure. They’re super cool too. Ya I’d love to drag home those trailers as well. More to come and blessings back my friend. Yepp, you’ve shared these special moments of Grasshoppers resurrection 👍
Great video. So many nice classics out west. Very little rust unless near the water. Grasshoppers also looking sharper than ever. Keep up the great work
Another awesome video Dane kent has some awesome trucks cant wait to see the ones outside grasshopper looks killer we will keep watching have a nice day goodbye ffr
Great video love the older trucks i think the cannon ball is one coolest trucks ever made hope you find one some day would look great in the truckers lounge.
Great progress on Grass Hopper! Awsome Arizona trucks. I love that GMC, but the Peterbuilt COE being the ugliest COE? The Freightliner “bus truck” you panned past without mention gets that award.
Just got back from the National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville Iowa... Of course we stopped at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop in Wolcott Iowa.. think I took over 100 pics of cool vintage iron!! Almost any rig you could think of!!
Hey it Doug aka Delbert lol anywho if someone was to do a Spider Mike tribute truck and trailer we know where the trailer would come from. Glad to see Grasshopper under its own power. Now more Arizone content por favor!!!!
how much ya wanna bet L9000 at 10:00 is an old Roadway ? 50s North American trailer is star of the show ... trucks survive more than trailers yellow GMC at 14:00 ? Mercury Sleeper ?? it is tooo saw ribbed panels but didnt notice the starbursts till 2nd or 3rd time looking at it
ATHS has classified adds which at times I have seen "restored" or almost restored trucks for a price that can't be beat.....for sure less than you can buy an old truck and then have it restored.
Dane, when you guys did the Pete air-ride cut-off on “Grasshopper”, did you maintain the same overall original wheelbase or did you go a bit longer? Great footage continuing from your Arizona trip, the custom KW’s are just sweet! The mid-60’s midrange GMC cabover IS a rare sight anymore….and you spent an extraordinary amount of time on that yellow Cannonball. Next item on your Class 8 “bucket list”?
I was more offended by the set-back front axle on that Freightliner shown just before that aero cabover Pete you were dissing on. : ) Not gonna lie, I love Crackerboxes, and White 5000s and 7000s, but they ain't winning any beauty contests either... Two Story Falcon? That white Dodge is beautiful, and I'm not an extended cab guy. Fifth wheel on that badboy too. One other paint witticism I have, is regarding white paint. Specifically Grasshopper's drives. Do they look too white to you? Many if not most automotive OEM white paint colors are not straight white, but are an off-white, even if it's just slightly off. Minuscule amounts of green, reds, or/and blues, will go a long way toward softening up the white on those wheels, making it better match up to the subtle greens that truck proudly wears. I once read that Ford's Wimbledon White has greens and reds in it. I painted my '88 Mustang GT convertible straight Rustoleum white, but that car is monochrome, so I liked it on that - though that was a hasty paint 'job' done fifteen years ago, and is thankfully flaking off now. It looked good after sanding and buffing though! Think I want to go silver or back to the dark red...
My original thought was using a tan/camel color to keep the "Earth tones" 60-70s theme. Ya never know my friend, things change quite often around here.
This is a jem of a honey hole cool old school trucks 😊
Lots of cool 😎 vintage iron!!
Love his collection!!
and how! :)
Great episode Dane, loved The visit to Kens
Thanks John
There are still treasures out there to be found. Thanks Dane.

Man I used to think those Dodge pickup was ugly but now the more I look at them the better they get 😊
Yepp, especially this one 😬👍
Great vid!!! 🤜🤛
Nice to see Grasshopper move on its own. Have to say Blue Jay is missed already!
Absolutely
I wish I could keep em all but.....shoulder shrug
Grasshopper seems to be progressing nicely. The KW 100 in the truck lot was pleading for attention.
I know and I think he was begging for some color lol

Wow! I love seeing these gems I never knew existed.
Good trivia!
I caught that too - a Really Big Horn...

I always wondered where Dodge got the tooling to make the 59 Dodge Cab for the 74 Big Horns beasts. Now we know

Hey buddy thanks 😬👍
Riding with my uncle in his Brockway at age 4 then riding in that old Cannon Ball GMC sealed the deal for me. NO REGRETS.👍👍
I’m getting pretty fond of those Cannonballs 😬
Grasshopper looks great! Love the gold accents. That guy out west does amazing work.
Thanks, and yes he sure does!
Great stuff as always! Thanks for the praise too! You seen some awesome stuff in Arizona. Grasshopper is back to life!!
Thanks Russ, Maybe we can take a pic of yours and mine together someday :)

Geez I love that old GMC Cannon Ball , I only know of only 1 here in Australia.
The FWD is a rare bird, pretty cool to see.

I know right? :)
Another awesome video Dane kent has some awesome trucks cant wait to see the ones outside grasshopper looks killer we will keep watching have a nice day goodbye ffr
Thanks Shelly and you’ll see them soon as well as grasshopper rule in the neighborhood L O L.
The FWD nose with the Dodge cab in that era was the foundation for the first Bighorns, Supposedly about 20 were made for car carriers .
Kool find Dane with (Mayflower) early 70s GMC C.O.E box truck & 91 D250 Cummins ext. cab kool trucks.
One sweet Dodge pickup
One of a kind and absolutely like new 😮
I hate to disagree with your host but that FWD is a Dodge Cab. D500-800 series.
No worries my friend we’re all learning about these hidden gems. 😬👍
Great video of part 3 mr Scotts 👍
Thanks Mel 😬👍
@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE your welcome buddy 🙂

Just got back from the National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville Iowa... Of course we stopped at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop in Wolcott Iowa.. think I took over 100 pics of cool vintage iron!! Almost any rig you could think of!!
And now you've got that you could go there and take a truckin buddy or 3 lol 😆!!
I've got to go see that place someday! Sounds like a truckin' paradise
Fwd used the dodge cabs. Hendrickson used international cabs . Fwd was used by military. Construction trucks like cement mixers. Logging trucks etc
Hey it Doug aka Delbert lol anywho if someone was to do a Spider Mike tribute truck and trailer we know where the trailer would come from. Glad to see Grasshopper under its own power. Now more Arizone content por favor!!!!
