You wanna take those gloves off when you handle fish that you’re letting go reason behind that is that those gloves he is wearing will take that protective layer of slime off that fish and it will start rotting away and until it dies. Just a heads up for you I’m a big fisherman myself.
Haha i was just there!!! Cold clear and low water and we got a bunch of fish. Beads are great but you shoulda grabbed some spoons. Hookups on spoons vs beads those 3 days we fished was like a 2-1 ratio. Beads are great but ive found when the water is crazy cold, the fish are lethargic and bites are soft, often too soft to notice except for finding teeth marks in your bead. A well drifted spoom however will wake up any nearby fish, especially big angry bucks! I had multiple fish chase a spoon to my feet on that river (yes i know the exact rivers and spots you fished and they were loaded). Beads are great, but dont get caught up on one technique. Good luck and god bless!
I tend to get lazy when it comes to setup changes. I don't mind switching what's under my bobber setup, but when it comes to taking the whole setup off and changing to something like a spoon or spinner i hardly do, i usually carry another rod just for a spoon or spinner, but on this day i did not. Thank you for watching 😊
@@fathersonoutdoors8049 oh I get it, esp with that cold snap we had. I couldn't tie a knot if I tried my hands were so cold. Like you said, I brought a second hardware rod.
Bring spoons, they may out fish beads. I was just there and that's exactly what happened. It was 2-1 ratio of fish caught on spoons to beads. Just make sure you are fishing the spoon correctly (90% of people don't know how to fish a spoon right)
@@fathersonoutdoors8049 - It was pretty epic fishing, we went 12 for 26 over 2 days. All float/yarnie fishing from a boat. The hookup to landing ratio could have been better, but hard to complain with that many fish!
Beautiful day, cold but dry
Nice bright buck

Sweet fish guys! I'm heading out to forks to fish sunday/monday. You got me that much more excited.
Good luck Ibn. Hopefully you get on some fish

I miss the Sol duc and the Hoh 2 of my favorites out there
Both super crowded with all the other closures around the pnw
@@shaunlehman9158 yep between that and the tribal Nets the fish don't stand a chance
Steelhead from my experience hit as soon as the sun hits the water. They are lethargic in cold water
Very lethargic. And it was cold. That's why we came back to this spot once the sun was on it for awhile
What rod is he fishing that fish with?
Im not sure. I know it was a rod reel combo that he bought from a local sporting goods store. Not sure what make the rod is
