Aaaaah, thanks Chris and Robert for doing this video. I understand more now about axial and radial play in the bearing/bushing now. I think my Maxi clutch has been run dry by one of the 5(!) previous owners because I have some clearance/wear between the clutch bell bushing and the crankshaft surface even with a new bush fitted. Between the bush and the clutch bell there is no play, its a good fit.
This is a good video tutorial for a newbie like me, more close ups would help even more. Thanks again. Many thumbs up !

If there’s too much play in the clutch bell, can that affect clutch performance and slip too much on top speed and climbing hills?

Yes, but slightly. The most impact is from the clutch shoes and the adjustment with the springs!
