Thanks for the love Wade! It is so cool to see the CTC working! Andrew was a big help in replacing or changing the facia too. I think we replaced about 75% of it. That was a good call Wade! I think all the guys have some new life in their lungs, exciting times ahead!! Cheers🍻 Earl
Now this is the real hobby.. Most of us are still out here collecting boxes and circling back to more pre-orders. It’s really satisfying to see these engines upgraded to their full potential. And as far as the layout goes it’s an absolutely unbelievable piece of engineering
Nice Corey got the frame up for the next backdrop up sweet can’t wait to paint that and get it done too. The layout really coming together paint makes a difference specially the sky blue paint & Black on the fascia as well. Fantastic work and update more progress to come for sure 👍
WOW!!!! This is like Disney Land for train and model train hobbiest! May I ask where this is being built? Train building at home in a huge basement? Subbed today for Sure! Beautiful weathering jobs on those locomotives. Just the right touch, very authentic.
Wow guys! A few months back this layout was looking like a real hodge-podge - and now it's truly coming into it's own! Hard to believe that it's "only" 17' x 50', but this is where a multi-level can give the impression (on camera, at least) that you are operating in a much larger space. Beautiful signaling and weathering. Some day, are weathered signals in the works? lol . . . .🚂Lawrence
Thanks!! And yes someday everything will be weathered, even the signals, I have some big plans for just the CTC to make the switches and supporting infrastructure look as real as it can, all in good time
I like your theory about the shadow box- movie framing type of fascia, it's what I am sort of going for myself. I see you went with a matte finish for the stuff that's already been painted... Not sure how familiar you are with paint and different finishes, but the matte finishes are unfortunately not nearly as durable as the stuff with some gloss/shine. I'd recommend going with a semi gloss to ensure it holds up over time in a club setting like this.
Absolutely!! That was just a small test portion, and with how much traffic the facia along the inside will see with all the crews switching, it will definitely need to be more durable
What are the dimensions of the building? Of the layout? I don't think I have seen a layout so impressive, especially with the CTC system. Would you be willing to share the floor plan of the building you're in?
Thanks man, I'm really happy with how they turned out. And I have no idea, the hard part is coming to an end, but scenery and building will definitely take some time, I guess it will be done when it’s done 🤣

Absolutely!! Things are really starting to come together!! Thanks for all your help! We definitely would not be as far as we are without you! Cheers

Nice touch with the smokey and the bandit truck at the loading depot. Picking up some Coors beer for them boys thirsty in Atlanta.
I'm glad you caught that! I thought it would be a fun addition.

Thanks for the Sub!! Our layout is in our local arena
I Love It! :)
I'm glad you like it
Some big changes, love it. Black fascia rules.
I have to agree! I think the black facia will really make it come together
Cool payout...and those ex-DM&E engines...they make me homesick for a land 14 hours away...
I'm glad you enjoyed the update! I'm also a big fan of those engines, and I'm sure they bring back some great memories.
@@SilverCreekSub That they do, use to see 'em all the time in South Dakota.
Just impressive. It would be awesome to be a part of this build.
The few guys we have are pretty happy!!

Was I with TSM tonight? No that wasn’t me
@@SilverCreekSub sorry because y saw the trains that is on this starting presentation

Thank you! The layout is approximately 17x50
Where you get All your signals the 2 head and 3 head signals they look cool
They were all custom made for each controlled location by a company called “wehonest” you can check them out on eBay
@ ok thank you
Looks fantastic. Been watching some of your videos. Making a lot of progress. Where do you find the material for your facia board.
Thanks Garry! The facia is just 1/8 inch mdf board, I just get it from Rona or Home Depot
I think you've reached the point where you can start offering real life training to Class I railroads!
🤣 I’m sure I could
So whats the other TH-cam channel
Corey’s you tube channel is called
Earl Widmeyer
I like your crusty and dusty SD40-2s. The SD40-2 audio is superb. U have built quite a structure, when do expect to complete your massive layout?
Thanks man, I'm really happy with how they turned out. And I have no idea, the hard part is coming to an end, but scenery and building will definitely take some time, I guess it will be done when it’s done 🤣
@@SilverCreekSub ICE and DME, did u do the custom paint?
