In my previous video, I showed you how you can connect Wireless DEX to any screen with an Amazon FireTV stick and how to make it completely portable with the RavPower FileHub.
In this video, I show you how to connect to a screen with no internet or Wifi using just a FireTV stick and power bank if you want to make it portable.

To anyone elsewatching, make sure that the firestick wireless is on but not connected to any network. That is how to connect dex, the wireless needs to stay on.

All these features look pretty cool. Dex feature has a brilliant future if Samsung developer keep going improving this software. (They did an AWESOME GOOD WORK with the Galaxy Tab S7 and the perfect implementation of Dex on it)
I totallt agree with you. DEX is a game changer. I have the Tab S7+ too and using DEX on that is a dream.

Hi, I have a monitor (Xtendtouch) which is very good but how can I connect it to my Samsung phone wirelessly using Samsung dex. Normally I'm having to use a cable from my phone to my monitor. Please help.

Hi, if the screen will be closer to you then I would reccomend a wire. You can try wirelessly, but you will need a miracast device - such as the fireTV stick.

Hi, is wireless dex on the 5ghz band lag free? is wireless dex usable on the new amazon fire stick 2020 and amazon fire stick LITE 2020?
5GHz is much less laggy than 2.4GHz. It wont work on the LITE version as it that doesnt have the screen mirroring function.
Does the stick still need to be plugged into power if you're not using wifi
Yes, the stick needs power i order to function at all. HDMI doesnt provide it power.
@Ballys Realm I’m in the States, and can only find a ‘Samsung DeX Station, Desktop Experience for Samsung Galaxy Note8 , Galaxy S8, S8+, S9, and S9+’.
Is this the same as the DeX you show in your videos?
It has ports (HDMI, USB A+C, Ethernet), but doesn’t resemble the DeX you present.

If I go for the 4k max , will we get better performance and less lag , have a tab s8 , s21 and this is supposed to work with windows 11 as well right ?
Hi! Do I need a firestick even if the TV has miracast or is a compatible Samsung TV? I'm trying to use dex without wifi. So do I need to use wifi if not using the firestick?? Thank you!
Hi, If the TV has Miracast built in, then you do not need the Fire TV Stick. Try turning on the mirroring on your TV and see if it comes up as a device that you can cast DEX wirelessly to.

@@Flash363 Yes. Miracast is another form Wifi Direct so it will work as a direct connection.
How noticable is the lag (mouse lag) from direct wifi setup?
I havent mesaured it, but there is a noticable lag when you move the mouse on your phone and see it move on screen. Its usable for most use cases.

Hi, I dont believe this is possible as wireless dex does not recieve the touch commands back from any screen, therefore it would not work this way.
Also sir, will the FireTV Stick work with the Ravpower WD03, RAVPower FileHub, Wireless Travel Router, SD Card Reader, 6700mAh? I'm not sure if it's 5g or if that's relevant. Thanks
I believe it will work, but wont be 5GHz so there may be some lag.

Plug a FireTV stick into the projector and you can use Dex wirelessly and also play Amazon Prime, neflix, TH-cam directly from the FireTV Stick.
What is model of fire stick 2020 or 2021? Any lagging or delay when casting ? Can i use google chorme cast?
Its 2020 version, but all the newer ones will work. You might notice a very slight lag since its wireless, but as long as your not too far from the fireTV stick then it should be acceptable.
Can I use the fire stick like I use my chromecast too? So when I select a TH-cam video it was cast?

The FireTV stick is a little different. It doesnt use the same casting as chromecast. I believe there may be a setting to select the FireTV as the device that you can cast a video to, but I dont use it this way. I normally use the remote to control the TH-cam app that is installed on the FireTV stick. It is much better that way for me.
You will only be able to get FHD - 1920 x 1080p. Someone else may be able to prove me wrong if they have it working with a higher resolution wirelessly.
It would be great if you did a video showcasing different accessories for the Zenscreen or portable monitors and how to use them. I don't understand why my phone supports dex wirelessly but I can't get my zen screen to power on wirelessly even though it has a battery it must be plugged in manually to my phone even if I just plugged the Zen screen to the power outlet I still can't cast wirelessly to it. I can't figure out how to control the speakers, it only plays sound through my phone or Bluetooth. I can't figure out how to hook a firestick up to it and I have a 15 and 1 USB dock with HDMI. I guess I'm going to have to buy a micro HDMI dongle which seems unnecessary but I can't figure any other way around it. I would really like to know the difference between your file hub and my 15 and 1. Besides yours being able to act as a hotspot which I'm not sure why I need if I have adequate Wi-Fi. Really I just want you to be able to stream Sports on my zen screen while I play video games on my tv. And play fortnite with a controller and watch fire stick on the go in the car on road trips. I can't figure out how to get fortnite out of touch screen orientation and use the controller either. It's crazy you made these videos a year ago and it's like the whole world is still learning nobody knows. Or at least they haven't made any videos.
yeah it's a hassle I'll hellp how I can from what I learned .
so step one use your usb dock to launch dex . step 2 press left button on the zenscreen twice and go down to input select and change from hdmi to type-C . step 3 now you can ditch the hub and enter dex with a type c to type c cable. step 4. press left button on zenscreen and go down to system setup and go to input device and select nb/pc no charge that way the zenscreen doesnt drain your z fold. step 5 on dex in the dock to the far right tap the volume icon and press change audio output and choose display device now audio will run through the zenscreen .
now the only way i think we can do dex with no wires to the phone woule be a mini hdmi to hdmi adpater , then plug a firestick into the adpater and have apower bank strong enough to power the firestick and tuck it all behind the zenscreen stand and pair a xbox controller to your zfold .
I'm currently running dex with a type to type c cable and a wireless charging bank in case my phone battery gets low .
so just one cable and a large mah power bank to charge my phone or the screen if either gets low.
so in theory plug the mini hdmi adapter into the zenscreen and plug the peak go hdmi into the adapter and plug a type c to type into a power bank to give the reciever power and boom dex with no cable to the ph
Update : so switching the Zenscreen to type c mode so you can do Dex type to type c cable. Then Plugging the mini HDMI adapter in the Zenscreen , then fire stick lite into the adapter and a micro usb power cable to a power bank worked the power bank is powering the fire stick and my USB port is free in case it needs to be charged or I can take a type c to micro USB and have the screen charge the firestick 😎 only downside is since it's casting Dex to the firestick your losing touchscreen function but your phone and monitor are both free to charge when they get low so it's a tradeoff that's worth it for me .

Either use the phone it self as the trackpad, or use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

Hi, The Miracast protocol allows the device to send the video output of Dex to a device with miracast built-in. All the processing is done on the device, so technically it isn't miracast running the dex. It doesn't look like the Xiaomi Mi TV stick dongle has miracast built-in. You don't have to have the amazon fire TV stick, any device with miracast built-in will work. I just believe that the Fire TV stick is the best thing to purchase which has other functionality also.

The Fire TV will work. I don't believe the Xiaomi will work.
If dex is mirrored to the firestick how do you get the keyboard mouse to work I have it mirrored but trying to figure out the mouse and keyboard options
Bluetooth connect a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

You would connect the bluetooth mouse and keyboard to the phone, not the fireTV Stick.
What is the max resolution with the cast stickwhen you dex wirelessly ?

Hi Akash, it depends on what you are doing. If you play games - then yes. If you are just doing normal browsing or browsing on apps, then I haven't noticed any heating yet.

The original FireTV Stick and the FireTV Stick 4k support this. The FireTV Stick Lite does not have the screen mirroring so it wont work.

Yes you can use wifi, but the connection that is made will be made direct (wifi direct) and your phone will still use the wifi connection.

Unfortunately it still doesn't work as the new Chromecast is still only a Chromecast device and doesn't have Miracast yet.

If you have to access to WiFi then you can use your mobile data in this set up.
If you have Wifi, then you can still use that and not have any charges.
