ikr! Nowadays people are talking about kuroko no basket, haikyuu as well as other sports manga but those will not match up to Eyeshield! Eyeshield forever :D
For me Eye Shield 21 will be always be unique in the sports anime world because American Football isn't really that famous in Asia compared to other sports like Basketball, Baseball, Boxing etc. This also has one of the best cast of characters, there is a lot of character development not just the "hero" team and I liked how the teams merged together in the World cup. I really wanted a sequel since the college looks like they have good matchups all around (although Hiruma's school is OP as hell). Unfortunately looks like the manga is done.
@@VuTran-mf7kj Why not? It another step if Sena ever wanted to be the best Runner Back and Safety in the football world, he have to face his friend one of these days and prove Hiruma worthy of a challenge of who score faster, his laser throw or Sena quick foot.
@@MrEscanaba The only way I see Sena's school has any chance against Hiruma's All-star school is if he deploys a similar North-South game like what Hakushuu did. They have Kurita, arguably the strongest lineman in Japan (Gaou is in the semi-pro league, so not in the same tournament as them). So a similar North-South game might work (Guarantee 8 points for each Touchdown).

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY, EYESHIELD 21. One of my favourite Sports Manga All Time. Didn't know and didn't care much about Football, until this. I devoured every episodes then read the chapters when I knew what we'll never get the chance to see the last matches... I was astonished when I saw the pages... I will definitely buy all volumes one day. Also, I'm still praying for a Anime Remake. Same Seiyuus, Same composer, same staff or not but better animations... Long live Eyeshield 21 and.... Football is probably that one sport that I thought I would NEVER find any kind of interest in whatsoever. Watching Eyeshield21 changed my mind. One of the finest anime I've seen so far and I love how they actually take time to explain how the game works - very informative. Binge watching it to the Max!!! If you read the comic, his father came and yell at him that if he wants to be in american football, they should never give up
