I couldn't help but get my hands on the upper floor too, stripping the boards, recreating a nice antique effect made warm by applying linseed oil.
With the leftover bags of mortar I further loaded the walls, avoiding cold air from drafts and I reduced the gaps between the beads and the wall by using thicker boards.
