My Ferrari SF90 Stradale Spec?! Assetto Fiorano Test Drive and Thoughts

- It's nearly time to lock the spec for my upcoming Ferrari SF90 Stradale, but first let's check out the Assetto Fiorano! This SF90 with Banned Auto Group features the upgrade pack with track suspension and more aero, but time to find out if it's right for my car!
The Ferrari SF90 is a remarkable machine, offering hypercar performance and power for a 'supercar' price tag. It boasts 1,000hp from a 4.0l TT V8 combined with 3 electric motors and has such a smooth integration of the technology that it's really something very impressive. So much so that after my first drive, I promptly locked in an order and my spec lock date is fast approaching.
When it comes to track cars, my garage features quite an array of high downforce, stripped out machines, and a big appeal of the SF90 is to use it as a 'daily supercar' if such a phrase can ever be applied. That presents a discussion of choosing between the better looking Assetto Fiorano version or going for the standard that would be more usable realworld.
The Assetto Fiorano, or Fiorano Package, includes specific Multimatic dampers for the track at the expense of the option to add a lift system. Visually it adds the carbon rear lip spoiler, and enables the car to be optioned with the painted livery too. Inside there are carbon door cards and more track orientated spec options too. While all of this is wonderful, it's also very expensive (approx 10% of the car's price) and brings a harsher ride and less usability. However, before making a decision, I wanted to get behind the wheel and Banned Auto Group made that possible!

Not long until I'm locking in my Ferrari SF90 Stradale specification, but one key decision remains about whether to order the Assetto Fiorano optional track package. Thanks to Banned Auto Group in Los Angeles, I can take this stunning Fiorano pack car for a run to the canyons to see what it's about!

I like this spec of assetto fiorano sf90 look so clean without those stripe paint job.
It’s still a difficult choice regarding the asseto..
But I think the absence of a lift system does it for me. I wouldn’t go for it.
Also and this maybe a rather odd observation..
those roads look like they are the same as the ones in GTA video game.

14:36 I really liked what you said. Ferrari could've easily charged double or more than what they're asking for this by making this a limited production model and reviving an old nameplate like Testarossa and still Ferrari would've quite easily managed to sell them all.
If Ferrari revives the TR it has the be a 12 cyl
@@bebin73 But with the days of the V12 being numbered, don't think they'll be developing another mainstream V12 (or any other 12cyl engine) product. Their halo car, the LaFerrari successor, will still feature the V12 though.

Going down La Tuna Canyon is quite a road in Malibu. I used to ride my bicycle up for training and it's brutally steep. I'm glad I wasn't riding up when you were coming down! Have fun in LA

I’ve lived in the area all my life. La tuna and angeles crest have always been such a fun transition to drive on a Sunday morning. You get great roads and little traffic. Plus the traffic you do see is always exceptional.

Fantastic car Tim. For me it’s the best of the modern Ferraris and I agree with your thoughts on the spec.it’s a car that you can use on a daily basis.smooth and quiet when you won’t it to be or a screening weapon when not.
Definitely the right choice, not having Assetto pack especially for British roads. Rosso Fiorrano if available or maybe Rossi Scuderia, definitely with black roof would be great

I'm sure there will be some resale value to the Assetto Fiorano pack, but not as much as many think. If I had the scratch, I'd buy a 'base' or normal SF90 & simply add the most important item from that package, namely, the carbon wheels (which are $40K, I know) but the HUGE rotational weight saving plus the looks! That'd be my one must have option.

Beautiful spec. Looks so much better with the extra carbon and aero. Looks extremely good without the stripe on the front. The stripe ruins the front end in my opinion. For the reason your purchasing the car to be a daily type super car. I understand wanting the extra comfort and front lift capability. Either way your getting an epic car. Congrats

I think a dark red with a tan interior and the silver wheels is an elegant spec and we need some more warm colours in the garage in my opinion.

@@dyent Also the way the power is delivered is different, lighter and electric motors and to some degree turbo charging take away some of the mechanical life like experience that a naturlly aspirated engine provides.

I had no clue that the Assetto Fiorano package doesn’t offer the lift system. This makes me wonder how Bren Garage is going to keep the underbody of his SF90 unscathed on Bangalore roads!
I think both options don’t have the lift system, he mentioned it in the video but lol I’m not about to scan the full video again to double check so apologies in advance if I’m wrong haha
Maybe a 3rd party lift system?
@@isaachauzel149 No chance! He’s probably planning to use it mainly on the track. Has his own transport truck as well. So maybe he doesn’t need the lift system.

To solve the issue with the indicators try getting used to activating them from the back of the wheel rather than the front

If I remember right, you can also use turn signals by your middle finger, between the pedals and the steering wheel.

Dec 2019 I was lucky enough to be visiting that area and drove some of those very roads. It's really my dream place to live, if it wasn't so crazy expensive.
It's nice to live there if you are wealthy, but many of my customers don't drive their nice cars because they worry about getting carjacked. I left decades ago, but still have family and friends there. I like how he didn't show any video of Santa Monica... It's shocking to see all the homeless there. Even on PCH going up to Malibu (where I'm from) there are homeless in cats and RVs on both sides of PCH.

I think that the first mod on that car should be unplugging the cable to that voice control button... Assetto Fiorano would add resell value but it also makes it more expensive upfront. For a more daily car, it would make less sense than if it would live at the green hell.

I'd go triple layer yellow, with dark blue leather Daytona buckets with yellow stitching, but without the Assetta Fiorano package. I think the car looks better without it, personally.

It appears to me that the best option would be to order the standard car (if you can call it that) and add an asseto fiorano body kit, if you will. Get the looks without the drawbacks

If you plan to daily it then the AF will have to unfortunately be let out. Other wise depending how often you track it the AF is a must

We all know you'll be bringing your sf90 Shmee mobile to the Nürburgring. Wouldn't you want the track pack for that and just use a series of wooden 2×10 ramps to get in and out of the Shmuseum?
