Martin Gore often talks about how Depeche Mode were told to hold chickens and other embarrassing things to do on video to make them look silly and to see how far they could be pushed. Maybe Andy thought it would be fun to use the same tactics with Vince. 😁
right, and he started depeche mode, on top of it all. not sure if he's flamed out or not, but he's a decent artist either way. *as for me, i love the duran duran look* , women only for me ! ! ! jajaja

HOW ARE LITERALLY NONE OF YOU ACKNOWLEDGING THE RANDOM RAGGAE RAP VERSE?!?!? DID YOU ALL STOP LIKE 2 MINUTES IN?!?!? THIS IS THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE THING I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN MONTHS AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT!
Yeah - I hate it. It totally disrupts the flow of the song. And the woman doing the rap is just really overdoing it. It's like she's SCREAMING. I'm sure she isn't intentionally trying to sabotage the song, but I think it definitely undercuts it. I wish they would take it out.
Erasure don’t get the credit they deserve. They are a top, top duo and their music offers a broad selection, to suit your mood I would think. They make you dance, feel great and even if you’re feeling low, raise your spirit. There’s even an odd ballad chucked in. Erasure , your versatile band! Well done Vince & Andy 👏🏼👍🏼😉
They're so excellent. Oh L'Amour will always remind me of summer time pool parties and innocent fun...summer in the 1980s when I was a kid. I feel sad to think that there are people who don't have great childhood memories to return to or who cynically, inappropriately and bitterly bring politics and the greater world's misery into a simple conversation filled with gratitude for the small and lovely universe that a suburban immigrant child enjoyed. I'm terrifically grateful and hope everybody reading this in the future has some simple sensory triggers that remind them of how unbelievably lovely their life is or definitely WAS at certain times in the past. What treasure. xo
Erasure has some impressive talent They consistently made incredibly catchy songs, and then redid a ton of already catchy songs and just kicked it into overdrive
the world can not thank those two enough for coming up with this brilliant EP... who knows what would have to ABBA Gold.... of course there was Muriel's Wedding and Priscilla around the same time... all in all they kickstarted the revival that keeps on going forever... YEAH
Unbelievable that this song/video is over 30 years old and at 67 y/o still listened/dance to this song to stay in shape and hopefully make it to 100 and still stand strong/dance to it.
Yes, you're right, and they dont even look like swedes... (and btw, its nice to listen to this, but watching is only for eh...fun or something. Male here....).
Still 30 years later I am still scrathing my head that serious Vince agreed to do this video. Anyway it' a winner and I 'love how the not only the song but also the video is a homage although tongue in cheek , to ABBA.
ABBA needs to buy these guys a pint. In the eighties ABBA had gone right out of fashion, to the extent that you were scared to listen to them, although i always loved them. Even the grannies had ditched them. Erasure were a seriously cool late eighties duo with the ledgendry vince clark at the musical helm. I remember first hearing this on the radio around 91. I Could not believe my ears, abba had been resurrected, not only that but far stronger than they ever were. The erasure ep got to no1 in the Uk, and for abba the rest is history.
This is one of the best and funniest, most committed homage covers I've seen, right up there with "You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record)" by Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon.

@@darielgames9811 Yes, that's the fate of cover versions. People like them better because they bring more modern and innovative vibe, that the new listeners appreciate more than the 70's original version. Happens to almost every cover version of an oldie hit! That's why artists do them, as an homage and also to bring these gem back from history into current times and give them a new shiny clothes and makeup. Like here literally! LOL!
How was this their only number one hit?Haven’t people heard Chains of Love or Respect??
A Little Respect is prolly one of my all time favorite celebratory, anthemic pop songs. (But it's also angsty and sad.)

Vince was possibly the best sport in the history of pop music 😂 He let Andy put him in so many crazy outfits. Freaking love Erasure.
