    As an actual flooring installer, it looks more realistic if you don’t follow a pattern on your joints, but rather, randomly stagger them with different length pieces :)

    Great flooring video. I have wanted to make a floor using popsicle sticks and watching how you did it made me feel more confident about actually doing it. I liked that you covered everything from beginning to end and showed how the finished floor looked once in was installed. Thank you so much.

    If it’s any help to anyone, I use large nail clippers to cut my lolly sticks and Starbucks stirrers. Quick and easy. Will leave a slight curve which is easily sanded out xxx

    I used the wooden coffee stirrers you get from coffee shops, recycling and free.

    Nice Video. Keep up the good work. You have a very pleasant voice. You gave me some great Ideas. I am just starting my first dollhouse. I have had the Dura-Craft kit for 26 years but never had the time to start it. I have an extensive background in construction and can put some of my experience and tools to use. I hope my next grandchild is a girl to enjoy my finished project. I plan to use your method in 4 rooms. I plan to use a random orbital sander to smooth the floor slightly. I like you whitewash idea. Thank You!

    much easier and less time consuming to use nippers to score and break by hand, you can trim the excess with scissors or the nippers for a clean edge and get the same result. :)

    First time I've ever heard anyone say they needed a mask to saw Popsicle sticks! Scissors work just fine and is much quicker, or an exacto knife!

    Eman Aljahmi, for some reason I can't reply to your comment, so hopefully you'll see this. I got my glue gun and the glues I use from local craft stores and hardware stores.

    Nice job. Why not glue the floorboards directly to the dolls' house floor? Am I making a mistake by glueing them straight down?

      @asrz384 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All late but she is doing it on card stock so she can take it off if she changes the floor to a different one, in your case it will be much harder to remove. It is still ok :)

    It would be a lot easier to just get a mini chop saw and tape about 12 sticks together with masking tape and cut them all at once. Or get a Midwest chopper....

  • @teresh9194
    @teresh9194 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There is a much easier way to cut the sticks with a molding cutter they are like sissors.

    Better than print the wooden effect.

    Does it matter what size Craft Sticks that you use to make out the floor of the house

    • @TheCraftyMissy
      @TheCraftyMissy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, it just affects the look: if you have very wide or very narrow sticks, it might look less natural. But use whatever you have access to! :-)

    Can i use a scissor in cutting the popsocles?

    • @luvsdvds
      @luvsdvds 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use coffee stirrers you can use regular scissors, but for Popsicle sticks you would need to use heavy duty scissors, the type that can cut metal, etc. But the best is the Easy Cutter (or similar, there are different brands) because you are sure to get a straight line and can also do miter (corner) cuts for picture frames, door and window framing, etc.

  • @shdonnabolden4777
    @shdonnabolden4777 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just cut off the ends of the popicle sticks to make the floor instead of all of the sticks up
