I am faschinated how people can recognize nuances within accents. For me english is not a native language, so I can recognize maybe just some of the most "loud" accents, for example british, scottish, maybe a bit of new zealand, those ones. But everything else, especially within North America, to me is just "english is english". So I always get very faschinated to see comments and treads, where people discuss accents and how they fit/ruined shows/characters, because they have a background to compare with, something they grew up with. It's kinda cool :)
Yes, Alastor is Cajun, but his accent is specifically trans Atlantic (iirc). An accent used commonly by sports announcers and such around the time Alastor was alive.

Not only did i FINALLY realize that Oogie Boogie actually says "santa claus" in the middle of the song instead of "sandy claws", but OH MY GOD IS SANTA CLAUS SIR PENTIOUS

Further more, much of Oogie Boogie was base'd on the singer Cab Calloway, whom would've been very prominent in Alaster's time-theme. Love that guy. The reason this fits is because Alastor was from Louisiana. He's got that Cajun English accent. Oogie has a similar accent so it works.
