Oh man. Sitting here on the couch and remembering all the wonderful experiences this man and his music brought me. Can't even get myself to dive into the collection and start playing the wonderful music he made....
I don't usually comment, so here it goes. About a year ago, I heard this song called Hunger Strike, shown to me by a buddy. I absolutely loved it and couldn't stop listening. Months passed and I couldn't move from the power this song brought, vocally of course. Well, now because of that one moment I found new meaning in life; I have now been playing guitar for 6 months and might even possibly consider an education in music. Well the moral of the story is that no matter the circumstances, take value to what you have, and understand that you give value to other people's lives as well, just as Cornell and the other grunge legends have done for me. Thank you Mr. Cornell.
May whomever the prayers of the prophet have reached whatever God and or Gods and realize that even people whom may momentarily have an erroneous lapse in judgement especially under the influence of prescribed or unprescribed substance that has an undesired and sometimes opposite effect of what the FDA and big pharma claims it to help or just from a being in a dark place wanting to escape from the depression and pain like what possibly Chris Cornell was going through realize empathetically even in the milliseconds in time while doing the unthinkable regret, repent can think this wasn't the outcome they wanted for them selves, loved ones, and people whom they inspired and fans that loved them from afar by (like myself) show mercy and grant them the serenity and peace they desired though they realized just a moment before their beautiful loving souls leave the physical realm through the black hole in the sun be granted an infinite heavenly transition to the utopian promise land because forgiveness is what all the divine faith's worshiped God/and or Gods teaches us we were made in their image but since our mortal souls who made a mistake in judgment like any other human has done many far worse that still live and breathe but all still have the ability to repent their mistakes even ones who do so mere moments before they transform into immortal soul within a utopian like unimaginable, wonderful, fun, beautiful, afterlife where they are immediately combined with all those loving empathic people they loved unconditionally not only to teach us to try with all we have not to cross the threshhold through a similar breif lapse in judgement and realize they are part of our souls no matter what and will live as one in harmony forever... AMEN may all the good and righteous souls Rest in Peace for eternity however long it takes to once again to be reunited in that heavenly place, one Love...Chris will be missed may God help all those that were privileged enough to know him closer than us, they have to be strong and gather strength from other privileged ones as well as from people lucky enough to have seen him perform and even those just now discovering the genius and talent of one of if not the best musicians of our lifetimes. God bless

I will always remember you, Chris! If there is a god, he just committed the greatest injustice😢😭😭 I hope you're jamming in heaven with Andy, Layne, Kurt, Mike and Scott! Rest in peace, Chris Cornell!🕯💔🕯

Fran Lovel Šimić & Francis Gares Do you think now is a good time to argue about religion and the existence of god? I just wanted to write something in the memory of Chris, I don't care about arguing about anything with anybody, so please stop!
"Follow me into the desert As thirsty as you are Crack a smile and cut your mouth And drown in alcohol 'Cause down below the truth is lying Beneath the riverbed So quench yourself and drink the water That flows below her head" -Burden in my hand (Soundgarden)
Found out late last night that Chris had passed, fucked my night up.Then this morning on the radio they mentioned that it was a possible suicide, So so sad. Im gutted, my sympathies to his family and friends. And of course his bandmates in Soundgarden and Audioslave. Thank you Chris for the music you helped create. Soundgarden especially got me through some shitty times during my teen years. may he be at peace
NotoriousYeshi yeah it's a suicide. Apparently he took too many anxiety pills, then he hung himself in his hotel bathroom after talking on the phone with his wife.
I'm almost 67, and a huge fan.... I'm a singer, but will never have the strength or range of this man. I'm shocked by the loss for his family and friends. God bless.
For 30 years this music has sustained me. I can live without food. I can live without water. I can live without oxygen. But I can't live without the music. I am lost, and this wound will leave a permanent scar. RIP Chris. God bless and keep him and his family and friends. We have lost one of the greatest artists who has ever lived.
Haven't been this affected in a long time. We've lost so many great musicians in the last years but Soundgarden was one of those bands who really helped me out of rough patches through my teenage years. Listening to their older songs was/is always bittersweet ,because it takes me back to these awful years but it reminds me of how much they would help me get through the day. RIP Chris and condolensces to his friends and family.
HoodRatKing90 Kate's free she will have to try to explain this to people the rest of her life. and some people are very cruel. I can no longer say I'm a fan of his. He only thought of himself.
HoodRatKing90 Depression and drug's will make you think unclear about life i have it also. He was on one of the late night talk shows not long ago and he was obviously on something. I'm sending prayer's up for his family. If you don't have depression won't understand why people think this way. R.I.P. Chris may God have mercy on your soul.. we all loved you even if you didn't know how much 🌹💔😢
I mean that's a bit of a harsh way to put it, but technically, not incorrect. Sometimes nothing can save you, not even the respect and adoration of millions.
There was absolutely no doubt who I was listening to every time his amazing voice entered my ear canal. Thank you for the soul you shared with all of us Mr. Cornell.
Chris Cornell passed away and this one hits hard. He is, in my eyes, one of the greatest rock artists, songwriters and vocalists of all time. His work with Soundgarden, especially, inspired many of my own creative directions in my own musical compositions. It felt like he would live on forever, and in a sense he will, but this is truly a great loss to the world of music. My kids (2 and 5 years old) love Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. Outshined may be their favorite song of all time! In fact, I sing Outshined to my 2 year old just about every night before bed. I think of going for runs while pushing them in the chariot while listening to Soundgarden on our portable speaker. 'Outshined again!' They would yell! I also think about the early 90s, when I was in grade 8 and I heard Black Hole Sun for the first time. I quickly picked up Superunknown and was quickly sucked into their blend of heavy Sabbath-like riffs, their odd time signatures and their buzarre tunings (Mind Riot requires tuning all strings to E!). It reminds me of summers mowing the lawn with my sony Walkman strapped to my shorts. It reminds me of growing up and all the different emotions that run through the mind of a teenage boy. And that is the point. The memories that were created through the creativity and expression of the art of music. I thank Chris Cornell for a lot of these memories and it really does mean a lot. One more story before I conclude. My 2 year old has a picture of Chris Cornell up in his room, along with Jimi Hendrix (my son's name is in fact Hendrix) and A Tribe Called Quest. Last night he asked me to take them down. He was having trouble getting to sleep so I followed his orders. I brought the pictures to our room and decided to put the Chris Cornell picture up on our wall. This was before I heard anything about his passing. It strikes me as one of those supremely ironic things, for it to happen on the exact day he passes. That picture had been up for at least a year and I never took it down until yesterday. I think I have no choice but to leave it on our wall. RIP Chris Cornell
It has been said many times in many different ways, "You do not know what you have, until it is no longer here." This has been a day of true realization. Chris had such a lengthy career that I look fondly back on. I can date his songs and bands with many significant times of my life. Although I was never the biggest fan, I've always had such a heavy respect for his love of the art. Chris could bend his voice with inflection and intonation that was somehow almost above human ability. His love of all things music had no boundaries or genre, as he proved later in his career. In my mind, he will always be one of the legends that we lost too early. Im sure his departure has left the entire music community reeling. So very sad... Be now at peace with whatever demons plagued you. Thank you for your contributions to the evolution of music. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace.
Funny I was listening to it yesterday and the lyrics are unfortunately very eerily applicable. Shit what a talent, and from what we can see, he was a really nice guy too.

Definitely going to be a strange vibe tomorrow night, Rest In Peace thank you for the beautiful music ❤️

It's funny, until Chris died I had never really listened to Soundgarden. Which is a shame because I was missing out. Such a great musician.
Unreal...I haven't cried like this since Layne.... rip sir, thank u for the memories
CrazyRachel1984. Same.. Layne was a rock God! Chris was too. im so sad.
+Brandi Ermer Agreed I'm a die hard aic fan, my sons middle name is Layne for real lol
CrazyRachel1984 I've been breaking down today too! So sad.
+Brandi Ermer stay strong hun, I was a wreck yesterday I guess my addict was triggered and I almost relapsed... weird how things effect us.
Such an incredible vocalist.
God bless
Mourning. Rock in peace. 🤘
Make every moment count, he was a very gifted person and will be missed.
RIP. I'm beyond stunned, rocked to my core. I think this is how my parents must have felt when Elvis passed. I grew up with Soundgarden in every area of my life. To say he was a rock legend and pioneer would be an understatement.
I will always remember you, Chris! If there is a god, he just committed the greatest injustice😢😭😭 I hope you're jamming in heaven with Andy, Layne, Kurt, Mike and Scott!
Rest in peace, Chris Cornell!🕯💔🕯
Don't forget Shannon Hoon And Hillel Slovak
God? Please? If there was God there would be no wars, death by famine losing good people like Chris and a millions of other examples. Stop fooling yourself. Rock died with the death of Chris for me.
Fran Lovel Šimić & Francis Gares Do you think now is a good time to argue about religion and the existence of god? I just wanted to write something in the memory of Chris, I don't care about arguing about anything with anybody, so please stop!
Dead And Loving It didn't wanna argue, no need to get defensive m8
RIP Chris Cornell never forget him :( Soundgarden and Audioslave music always play at my office
Unbelievable voice, unbeliavable talent. Will be long missed. RIP
This really sucks. I had just got home after writing an exam when I heard this. Just a sad day
Abhishek Krishnan same here. Came back from my last exam all happy and joyful and then heard about his passing.. Turned into the worst day of my life.
He was a fantastic musician , such a shame , RIP
It's so sad to hear this, grunge got me into metal music, great musician. RIP Chris Cornell
Not only that, he opened my mind to more music, and to look at other people's music
The world is mourning but paradise will shine with your presence rest in peace Chris Cornell.
"Follow me into the desert
As thirsty as you are
Crack a smile and cut your mouth
And drown in alcohol
'Cause down below the truth is lying
Beneath the riverbed
So quench yourself and drink the water
That flows below her head" -Burden in my hand (Soundgarden)
one of my absolute favorite songs by Soundgarden
That was the song that I had in my head when I read about Chris's death.
Ha. I had "Like Suicide". Whodda thunk it.
RIP chris cornell the legend that will always be missed
Found out late last night that Chris had passed, fucked my night up.Then this morning on the radio they mentioned that it was a possible suicide, So so sad. Im gutted, my sympathies to his family and friends. And of course his bandmates in Soundgarden and Audioslave.
Thank you Chris for the music you helped create. Soundgarden especially got me through some shitty times during my teen years. may he be at peace
NotoriousYeshi yeah it's a suicide. Apparently he took too many anxiety pills, then he hung himself in his hotel bathroom after talking on the phone with his wife.
Sexual Potahoe yes that is what I've read today as well.
btw, great username 🍺
Love you Chris. Thank you for your influential life you lead. Rock on in the afterlife.
RIP Chris and condolensces to his friends and family.
his daughter definitely inherited his talent
When I saw that he had a daughter, that puts a very difficult spin on this for me. Why didn't he think how this was going to affect her?
HoodRatKing90 Kate's free she will have to try to explain this to people the rest of her life. and some people are very cruel. I can no longer say I'm a fan of his. He only thought of himself.
HoodRatKing90 Depression and drug's will make you think unclear about life i have it also.
He was on one of the late night talk shows not long ago and he was obviously on something. I'm sending prayer's up for his family. If you don't have depression won't understand why people think this way.
R.I.P. Chris may God have mercy on your soul.. we all loved you even if you didn't know how much 🌹💔😢
I agree, he struggled with sobriety for a long time. It's unfortunate for his children but I guess he just couldn't light his way any more
I'm sure, as a father, she definitely went through his head.. It just speaks volumes of what hell he was going through.
We weren't good enough for him [*] R.I.P
I mean that's a bit of a harsh way to put it, but technically, not incorrect. Sometimes nothing can save you, not even the respect and adoration of millions.
NightmareSnake it was the meds man...
The words that come to mind when I think of Chris Cornell are “beautiful soul”. That is the best way I could describe him.
The best ones go too soon :'(
It has been said many times in many different ways, "You do not know what you have, until it is no longer here."
This has been a day of true realization.
"I read the news today oh boy"....was stunned..what a loss..that's for the great sounds and songs Chris. Brought me a lot of joy and will to my end.
came here to say goodbye and give thanks to this amazing man. You will be missed.
He was just as great live, amazing voice.
we miss you chris rock in peace
orko kraken "chris Rock"
jajajaa wtf
orko kraken one of those instances where punctuation matters
yes sorry for that
How much for a wing?
You can really see his evolution from frustrated, angsty young man to the thoughtful, contemplative, and introspective adult in this video.
Chris Cornell was the most beautiful man with the most beautiful voice that ever lived.
The voice of a generation. Thank you for all the memories your songs will always paint.
I fell on black days...
Funny I was listening to it yesterday and the lyrics are unfortunately very eerily applicable. Shit what a talent, and from what we can see, he was a really nice guy too.
we all did.
It's so loud
I KNOW CAN YOU BELIEVE IT 😂😂
It's 2019..and it still hurts
This is one of those celebs that actually got to me. Rest in Peace King, a legend. Unique. My family, traditional Puerto Ricans, loved you. So beautiful. 😢😢🌹🌹
Goodnight and thank you for giving me a beutiful time in music...never knew you as a brother but we are brothers!
"Hang my head, drown my fear
Till you all just disappear."
- Black Hole Sun

thank you for the whole new world of music and emotions, Chris Cornell...
I was listening to sound garden this whole week on the Radio, everywhere, loved it, I wondered why loud wire posted it and today my guitar teacher told me, so sad mad and this just ruined my day 😓 rip Chris
Thanks for all the great music Chris... and thank you and Kim Thayil for inventing my favorite band Soundgarden. Been a fan for 25 years, not just the last 3-4 days; and know their entire catalog inside and out, not just Black Hole Sun!
joe strummer Amen to that brotha I’m almost 50 I’ve had almost 30 yrs of great music of the 90’s I’ll miss Chris for the rest of my life he and Layne were a huge part of my 20’s I still listen to them everyday
so sad, his kids and wife. i pray for the strength they will need. such a shame.
I was so stoked to see SG preform tomorrow night at Rock On The Range. Not sure what's going to happen, maybe it'll be an early night. Maybe a last minute booking. Personally, I'd love to see a tribute cover set preformed by the other musicians playing this weekend. Definitely going to be a strange vibe tomorrow night, Rest In Peace thank you for the beautiful music ❤️
Bob Landon What happens? I'm a lil bit curious.
They did a little tribute set. Corey Taylor cane out and preformed Wish you were here and Hunger Strike acoustically. Then for about 15 minutes they played some chris Cornell songs while they displayed photos of him in his legacy. Such an emotional night
I'll upload a video soon
I got teary eyed when he started singing with his child who has a sweet beautiful voice 😢
It was nice to see someone who took pride in their work, and could connect with an audience. A real artist for sure.
I had just gotten back from my paper route around 5am. I got I facebook for a little bit and ultimateguitar news gave news that he was dead. Thank you Chris for giving this 24 year old hope in an age of awful pop music......
Elijah Main oh stop theres still plenty if great music out there.
Name 10 of them......
righttackle52 They are trying to convey their opinion. No one requires your input
I meant popular music with autotune. I know of a few artist that are good enough. I would like 10 more of them.....
Elijah Main You don't have to justify the shit being made from the ass holes of society. We need to become less politically correct and purge the censorship. Wake up; We are only here for a limited time least we can do is prepare the future generations.
Im still in shock, have always been a huge fan of his music, Even though I didn't know him personally, I'm gonna miss him :(
Camryn Jensen Same here. This sucks so much.
Can't believe he's gone! :(
I still can't believe this beautiful human is gone. I'm obsessed with listening and watching videos, I'm truly saddened for his family and myself. I love you Chris and you'll NEVER be forgotten! Your voice is amazing and you could sing the fuck out of any song you performed. RIP ❤️
Awesome collaboration. Had me from goosebumps to tears! Namaste Chris.
"are you gonna do some dates in the united states?"
