Those early srt8 or even r/t classics just draw a different level of nostalgia that the newer cars don’t. An older man is gonna walk right past the hellcat and just start drooling over one of those 2008-2014 cars at a car show

    I’ve been a Mopar fan
since 1968. The Mopar enthusiast seems to prefer factory original cars. It won’t be too many more years before the 6.1 cars will be more special as people realize that they ushered in a new era. I remember when I first saw a 2008 SRT8 Challenger Hemi Orange Pearl. It had a pistol grip manual and it brought back every memory I had from the early Mopars. Sad to see it all end because of politics and stupidity.

I think that last call was all just a market scheme to sell the last cars on this generation. If they announced the next gen for 2025 nobody would buy the 23-24 models. Always a possibility.

Owned since new 2010 Challenger SRT8. I love all the upgrades made by the factory to the Challenger since, but I've left mine stock and have put 75,000 happy trouble free miles since. I'm 61 now, and I'd love a Hellcat, and my wife has encouraged me to consider it, but realistically I'll enjoy them from afar (Behind?!).

Have an 09 SRT8 Challenger 6.1 w/ 28,000 miles 6 speed; 3" exhaust stainless from the headers back, with intake and a tune. The 6.1 is a fantastic beautiful engine, and is all top end power. Have two friends with 09 challengers R/T with eagle 5.7. The eagle 5.7 w/VVT will keep up until the 6.1 until above 4k RPM. Then the 6.1 walks away esp with the higher red line. However my gripe with the engine is that below 3k RPM is doesn't throw you back in the seat like the new VVT hemis,, you gotta let the 6.1 really breathe to get it pulling. With this small gap between SRT8 vs RT challenger in 09 didn't justify the price difference. Which is why I think SRT brought the 392 to the table.
