I know it has its problems but dear god i love Rage. I love the world design and combat, i love the levels.
Just wish the writing was much better and it wasn't just two hub worlds.
I found the level design, enemies and gameplay were kinda boring. But I’m happy you enjoyed it
I disagree with lvl design but I agree with everything else this game is super fun to play

I love the little reused Doom 3 sounds snuck in places, it's rare enough to be charming.
The death noise when you get killed in game is the same as doom 3

@@Zargex From what I've seen so far it won't but every gun will behave differently depending on how you fire them for example Rage 2's shotgun if you fire from the hip it fires buckshot if you aim with it the shotgun transforms into a sonic concussion cannon and in overdrive mode soft targets uhh...explode into blood goo.

I miss playing this game on Xbox 360
The guns and enemies are amazing
One thing you forgot was the combat shotgun's magazine attachment. It was an item you could buy from vendors labelled as "shotgun extender" and it made you reload in one fell swoop instead of shell by shell.

It still amazes me that this game was runnin 60fps on consoles i really enjoyed it back then :)
Games on console nowa days have a problem just maintaining 60fps and the tech is "better"

That's why the visuals were so lacking, and tried to made up for it by stylising the graphics.
It doesn't hold up at all.

Authority MG is just so good, both aesthetics and sounds.

Animations are also good and fluid
The Crossbow and Nailgun should be DLC weapons in Rage 2.
And the Authority pulse cannon and the sawed off shotgun should have been in Rage 2 too... this four guns were absolutely amazing; RAGE II has cool guns as well, (my favorite is the pump action shutgun) but still it kinda makes me sad that this beauties didn't make it... (EXPECIALY the Authority pulse cannon)

The Settler Pistol's sound brings me so many CS flashbacks 😰.
I’ve never seen this nailgun till now, and I’m one of the few that bought the game back in the day.
It's part of the Scorchers DLC. I don't think many people have played it. I only found out about it by seeing it in the Xbox marketplace.

@@sambuxton931 Nah, the double barreled was a pre order bonus I believe. Same with the special outfit you can get, along with the spiked fists.
This is one of the most important part of the games that modern fps games neglect, the sounds of the weapons and how they feel, this reminds me of (quake 4) with the weapons, over the top killing machines.

Honestly I prefer Rage 1 way more than Rage 2

I used to LOVE playing Rage back in the day, I'm actually thinking of playing it again, readying myself for rage 2. Hope it stands up to (or hopefully better) than the original.

This game is so underrated, has better gunplay & weapons than any of the Dooms IMO. I think if it released in a different time period then when Fallout and Borderlands were super popular, it could have been GOTY depending on the year.

I didnt like the gunplay in RAGE1 . You needed 50 bullets to kill some enemies, more or less. It was annoying sometimes
True the ak assault rifle needed most of its magazine to kill an enemy.
On nightmare it took me one fat boy shot to the head to knock enemies with no armor, but authority have like high armor that it takes V2 authority rounds to kill them
Out of all the alternate ammos, I think I'm going to miss the Killbursts, pop rockets, and dynamite bolts the most.
Meh I found killbursts and dynamite bolts to be too situational. Pop rockets though.. so OP!
This game was so underated
We will never get a True sequel now. This game was glorious.

Gunplay was hella fun. Especially once you got the nail gun in the scorchers dlc. Either rest was pretty forgettable.

Nailgun is from the Scorchers DLC. Sawed off Shotgun and the Fists of RAGE (spiked knuckles basically) are from the Anarchy Edition DLC.

CrimsonStar was the dlc available for consoles I don’t think there was a tab for downloading extra content
You mean consoles, yes? It was available for Xbox 360. I got mine off of the Xbox marketplace.

Looking back, RAGE had some really deep combat mechanics. Oh and the AI and ragdoll physics...sweet, sweet fun. Too bad they were all wasted on a corridor shooter that felt like a glorified tech demo.
I wish this game was abailable for the PS4.
