      @@eMkayRr I think some of the size could be reduced without compromising safety. Halo can stay. Less fuel capacity would help (though would make one refueling mandatory during race).       Easier rules to work with;
 Introduction of the single-lap qualifying system, later replaced by the knockout qualifying format in 2006 to make the qualifying sessions more exciting and unpredictable.
 Major aerodynamic rule changes aimed at reducing downforce and, consequently, speed, to improve safety. Tire rules also changed, requiring drivers to use a single set of tires for both qualifying and the race.
 Introduction of KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), allowing cars to recover energy during braking. The rules also included significant aerodynamic changes to facilitate overtaking, such as the reintroduction of slick tires and a reduction in wing sizes.
s
 Introduction of DRS (Drag Reduction System) to aid overtaking by reducing aerodynamic drag.
 Major changes with the introduction of 1.6L V6 turbocharged engines with extensive energy recovery systems, replacing the 2.4L V8 engines. This was part of a push towards more sustainable racing.
 Changes aimed at making cars faster and more challenging to drive, including wider tires and bodywork to increase downforce and grip.
 Introduction of a simplified front wing design to reduce the impact of aerodynamic turbulence on following cars, making it theoretically easier to overtake.
s
 Introduction of budget caps to make the sport financially sustainable and competitive balance. The original plan for major aerodynamic rule changes was postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 Implementation of the new aerodynamic regulations aimed at promoting closer racing and more overtaking. The cars featured ground-effect aerodynamics for the first time since the early 1980s, significantly changing car design philosophy.
 Adjustments and refinements to the 2022 aerodynamic regulations, including measures to reduce the phenomenon of "porpoising" where cars would bounce at high speeds due to aerodynamic effects.

    Sad thing formula 1 dropped the goal to be the fastest thing that can move on track and started some political decisions and lost this feeling of being a wonder. I doubt anything could beat the projects from 2008 with slick tyres applied. Giving engineers possibility to develop this more, now it would be mamy seconds ahead of the current cars. Those machines had comparable times with current cars even though they had much worse tyres and aero developed, but were lighter, more agile and just spectacular when on the move
