This cake combo reminds me of a bakery in Milwaukee that makes 3 layer wedding cakes with a chocolate cake bottom, a thin layer of raspberry filling then a cheesecake layer and it's topped with a chocolate ganache. Truly an outstanding creation!

I’m making this right now for my cousins birthday! My cheesecake looks just like the one in this video. Hope my cakes turn out correctly. I made a double batch of frosting and divided it to halves. Then I made a mistake by adding 3/4 cup instead of 1/4 cup of dark cocoa powder into one of the halves. I kept mixing it but it seemed so fudge-like 😂. I will just make another single batch of vanilla cream cheese frosting and store any left over for something else.

I made this cake and aside from not having sufficient frosting (I probably used too much for the crumb coat) to do the rosettes on top, the cake looked lovely. I don’t use social media so I can’t send you a photo but suffice to say, it looked like yours minus the rosettes. Thank you - it was a huge hit with my friends and family.
Oh dear, my cheesecake seems to be slightly under cooked, so the top layer is squashing it. I was able to successfully ice it after putting it in the freezer for 10 minutes. Now it's in the fridge. Fingers crossed it doesn't totally collapse before tomorrow.
Where did you purchase the 8 in spring form pan? I. Have a 9” one but I have 8”cake pans. I have searched Amazon and find only a few 8” ones but I am not sure of the quality. My 9” pan is a calphalon and I love it. Never leaks and makes perfect cheesecakes. Thanks
Hey I started making this and used the quantities you have mentioned to make the cheesecake … but cream cheese for the cheesecake is mentioned as 340g … whereas it should be 680g ( when you convert 24oz) .my cheesecake layer didn’t turn out right

You can make homemade buttermilk, just mix 1 cup milk and 1tbsp vinegar/lemon, let it sit for 5 mins. The buttermilk adds a nice rich acidity flavor to your cake. Highly recommended :)

The cake layers don’t need to be refrigerated until you assemble the whole thing. I would just recommend wrapping them after they cool so they don’t dry out. 😊
I felt 35 min baking time wasnt long enough because all my cheesecakes typically bake about an hour but I followed your time and it's still raw inside. (I checked once it was cooled). I ended up putting it back in the oven for another 20 min or so.
@@SugarSpunRun maybe its because I tend to bake everything in light coloured aluminum pans? They tend to take a little longer than dark pans would. That's my guess 🤷♀️
I'm making this right now and 35 minutes wasn't enough in mine either. I did 325 convection and put it on a cookie sheet. The 9inch cheesecake recipe I did turned out perfect and that was over 70 minutes I believe. I put mine back in for another 10 - 15 minutes and I think it will be fine.

You could use all granulated sugar. There will be a slight loss in depth of flavor and could be slightly less moist, but it will still be good. :)

But normally if I fold in food coloring I like to do it just before reaching the stiff peaks that way I can be sure it’s not over mixed. 😊
