I really think it’s the car, Chase Elliott mentioned on Jr’s podcast about his and Kyle Busch’s driving styles compared to the old car and the new car. Busch mentioned to him one time, that this car really doesn’t accept my driving style. I just think the way he drives the new car he expects it to perform like the previous car, but like Elliott said the new car will not accept those driving styles. In my opinion I just think Busch just can’t get a grip with the new car because the way the car is will not accept his driving style.
I feel like RCR is the next Roush Fenway, Former powerhouse turned back marker. I'd also guess Chevy's struggles and various other small factors have contributed to their rapid decline.
RCR racing will not get better until Richard Childress steps down and Austin Dillon is not going to lead them to the promise land neither! They need a total revamp and new leadership!😮
Dillon needs to start running day to day operations of the team or RCR will continue to fall off. Mid driver but has shown potential when it comes to the business side of things and making connections with people.
I think Busch can still drive better than he did in 2024. His equipment is not good at RCR. Austin Dillon would have been out of the Cup Series a few years ago if he wasn’t Richard’s grandson.
To be honest, except for 2010 and '11, RCR has been behind for close to 30 years, going as far back as 1996, when they failed to adjust to what was happening, both in terms of technology, as well as the dawning of the er of the multi-car teams. Let's not forget that, after the fourth race of the 1996 season, they only won once in about 100 races (Dale, Sr.'s 1998 Daytona 500 victory), and even in the two years before Dale's tragic death at the 2001 Daytona 500, which included a surprise runner-up in points in 2000, the only places he won at were places he was always dominant at (3x at Talladega and once at both Bristol and Atlanta). Where RCR happens to be right now is much like where Petty Enterprises and the Wood Brothers were when money and depth began coming into the sport in the 1980s, which was falling behind with no real chance of catching up because of how small those operations really were. They could catch lightning in a bottle with a big win every once in a while, but have no hope of being consistent. I believe the same is true with RCR today. They may be able to catch lightning in a bottle, as Austin Dillon did at Richmond last fall, but I don't think they have any hope of being consistent.
A mixture of being the 3rd to 4th team at Chevy, A mediocre driver that changes crew chiefs every 2-3 seasons there’s a common denominator here and it’s AD, for the 8 team it’s just lack of speed we’ve seen KB run top 10 and almost win a few times this season with bottom tier equipment, reminds me a lot of Roush in the 2010s
IMO Some of your points aren’t right at all RCR is better than “mid-tier” I mean they had 4 win season then 3 win season including both cars in 2022 playoffs. Austin Dillon is just not good. His only option is wreck the guy or like KP did and wait for the whole field to fall out. I think Richard is starting the 3rd team because he is finally starting to realize this. Hell fire AD and put ty in. He can't run any worse. No wait Childress bought Ty another cup ride for next yr. Harvick said the spoiled kids would ruin rcr. Now we get to see how his does.
I’d love to see them maybe have Austin Dillion be a part owner (assuming he wouldn’t race) maybe have like Jesse Love (maybe 2 years within) or someone else mind is going blank I think that could help them evolve
I wonder if Chevy is going to start pushing RCR down the pecking order with their tier 1 support. Spire is looking very interesting, and offers way more upside than RCR currently. The best thing for RCR would be to move Dillion into leadership and put someone else into the 3 car.

What keeps him going with the rigors of running a team with the demanding NASCAR schedule is nearly incomprehensible.
For everything wrong with their cup program, they've been doing pretty well in the xfiniy series. Which makes it more perplexing as to why the cup teams struggle. Is this the Kevin Harvick effect, that he masked a lot of company wide deficiencies thru his leadership and talent? Both RCR and SHR fell off cliffs towards the end and after his departure.
They always have been. Dale just carried them. When Andy petree was there in 93, 94 95 they were on top. He left it went to shit. He came back but now you cant cheat like he thinks
RCR literally made the same mistake that JGR did with Logano and Kenseth, it's just coming back to haunt RCR much earlier. Even then, JGR had TRD's sophisticated developmental pipeline to bail them out. RCR doesn't have that because their pipeline is still distinct from other Chevy groups.
Idk Austin Dillon as a person but as a driver, he’s been a field filler pretty much his whole career. As long as he’s in the 3, RCR isn’t serious about being a competitive team.
I think Austin Dillon remaining in the car as long as he has really has hurt the team. If he had moved into an ownership role and put Austin Hill in the car things would at least be no worse, probably better. I don’t like Hill but he’s running near the front more often than not, but he’s early 30s now. RCR has wasted him. Biggest problem is Childress though.
RCR probably needs to move out of Welcome and get in the Charlotte area so they can have access to a deeper pool of people. NASCAR mechanics that live in the Charlotte area don't want to drive all the way up to Welcome to work. That's an over two hours round trip every day.
Austin Dillon needs to step out of the car and help his grandad run things at RCR. He should be team president of chairman of that operation. He was able to get Kyle Busch in there for a reason, to help bring the team back up.
Problems always stem from leadership that trickle down into how the rest of an organization is run. RCR needs fresh blood that'll modernize them into running more competitively

AD isn't as bad as people make him out to be. When he has a race winning car, he can win any race. Truck series champ, Xfinity series champ, multiple crown jewels, just isn't given competitive equipment. Give him a top 15 car, he's a top 15 driver, Simple as that.

Old Man Childress is making this team embarrassing and stuck in the past, he’s more concerned about using his connections to get Ty Dillon getting a bullshit ride somewhere than his own team.
The old school tactics RC is running aren't working anymore, if you want your team to be successful you need to bring younger and fresher people in and that includes upper management. Richard needs to let someone else take the reins here in my honest opinion
Simple, Chevy is being forced to give their NASCAR money to Hendrick. Hendrick calls the shots for Chevy. They do as he tells them. He’s screwing all the other Chevrolet teams.
You can argue that RCR is the worst Chevy team. Hendrick will always be the Top Chevy Team. Trackhouse is easily No. 2 at Chevy. I would say Kaulig is 3rd because of AJ Allmendinger, which makes them an instant threat at the Road Courses, and it a good oval driver. Kaulig's Xfinity program has fallen a little but still solid. Spire, I would say, is 4th McDowell like Allmendinger at Kaulig gives Spire their best chance to win outside of Superspeedways with Road Courses, Hoecvar needs to get is emotions under control and Haley is a good driver. I want to see how 2025 goes for Spire before I say their 3rd at Chevy, but they have gotten better. And then in 5th/Last is RCR, there's nothing good at the Cup Program with RCR. Both the 3 & 8 are struggling and trying to die the 3rd car. Part-time again is a bad Idea. If Childress wants Austin Hill to get Cup Races, then he should pay Matt Kaulig to put Hill in the 13.
I wish Dale Jr. would actually buy into RCR, Rick Hendrick sells his portion of JRM, Zilisch moves up to cup and he’s now an ECR driver, KFB wins his last few races, But it’s all a fantasy unfortunately.
To be honest, I thought this was going to happen the moment I heard the announcement that Busch would join RCR. The fact that I was prove wrong for 6 months shocks me today. I think Kyle Busch should leave the team after 2025. While he will probably never be as competitive as he was in the 2010’s, a team like 23XI is trending in a positive direction.
Do you think RCR can turn the ship around?

The old school tactics RC is running aren't working anymore, if you want your team to be successful you need to bring younger and fresher people in and that includes upper management. Richard needs to let someone else take the reins here in my honest opinion
The problem is AD
"What is the problem?"...How much time you got?
RCR hasn't been good since Clint was in the 07.
Hear me out.. Dale jr get ownership of DEI and joins with RCR
Simple, Chevy is being forced to give their NASCAR money to Hendrick. Hendrick calls the shots for Chevy. They do as he tells them. He’s screwing all the other Chevrolet teams.
General Motors performance center is across the street from Hendrick Motorsports... Hendrick IS team Chevrolet.
Sell it to Dale.Jr
Just fyi it was not RCR who got the info from JGR … hello .. who left JGR and they went ???? Track house hwllo
I'll tell you, Austin Dillon
To think Dale Earnhardt Sr won 6 out of 7 championships with that team.
I wish Dale Jr. would actually buy into RCR, Rick Hendrick sells his portion of JRM, Zilisch moves up to cup and he’s now an ECR driver, KFB wins his last few races, But it’s all a fantasy unfortunately.
Problem is Richard Childress. He’s a joke of a car owner
Austin Dillon sucks. Austin Hill needs to stop being a bully. Kyle Busch is on his last legs. Jesse Love doing alright so far.
Jesse Love I think is gonna get better moving forward.
Cause RC would rather give his best cars to his worthless silver spoon grandson than anyone on his team that actually has talent.
Hasn’t been good since harvick and no other driver besides sr and harvick was good there except bowyer in 07. Busch is decent there but not jgr
Tyler Reddick ran well
@ oh wow i forgot about him
Would you want to work for Childress?
Nepotism
Kyle Busch needs to leave RCR as fast as he can for 2025.
KYLE BUSCH BECOMES FREE AGENT IN 2026 so gotta hold your breath if he can get it done in 2025
@THESLAPTRAIN4200 I don't think he can with RCR he should've gone to spile or drive for dale jr in the Xfinity series.
@@THESLAPTRAIN4200 387 days left till 2026.
Nascar and Childress died the day Dale died.
Yea thats not true in the slightest
@@g_men2121 Because you are new to nascar.
@@g_men2121it really went down hill when Goodwrench left.
