What Mr. Sadath couldn't tell is that the tax paid during re-registration by the new owner of the vehicle can be used as proof and along with other re-registration documents, the initial owner of the vehicle can apply for tax reimbursement in the initially registered state and then transfer the amount to the new owner. Make sure the sale agreements are notarized with these clauses.

1st time already charged 15 yrs tax for registeration then why pay the used car registeration for other state....? Other state can charged road tax + a nominal charge for registeration. Why this huge amount charge for registeration...?

No they cannot scrap the car if you have got the NOC and if paid Road Tax in Karnataka,.you should try to complete the formalities as soon as possible before it gets too much complicated sir .and thanks for watching!

I don't want to change my old state registration no. plate to KA, just want to pay the tax since i will be living & driving it for more than a year.
I don't think it works like this, rules have changed..
Karnataka government laws mandate vehicles staying in Karnataka for more than 30 days to pay lifetime tax in lump sum, and then withdraw the balance amount from the government of the city where the vehicle was registered earlier..

Sir i am purchasing xuv 500 w8 2012 MH 04 registration vehicle 3rd owner but present owner in Mysore he have noc reg validity: 13:08:2027. any problems to buy and how much extra cost to make Karnataka vehicle
there should not be any problem probably but if NOC is lapsed then you have to bare renewal fee and best option is to ask the seller to take care of RC transfer and RTO works..so you are on safer side..

Sir, If I buy an old model Bullet say around 40 years old, which documents are active and has around 4 years plus Fitness in other state not KA, in this case what is the best option available. Kindly advice..
Since all documents are valid and running you can buy it and re-register it..but still you may try to find similar bullet in Karnataka itself for hassle-free work related to RTO..

If time persists they will soon get back with strict enforcement of the same until then the road users are at their liberty to ply on the roads without paying attention to payment of road tax.
