I didn't think I was going to bother with another filter plugin except to finally get Fabfilter's Volcano at some point. This plugin was instantly on my buy list when I saw the email. Next paycheck it's mine
Yes, this is an incredible plug-in. With our new CC Rider MIDI LFO I Unify 1.9, you can modulate every parameter with their own “LFO” shape. All Polyverse effects are quite simply the best, this is no exception. Nice video dude.
Big fan of Gatekeeper and if Pluginguru likes it for Unify that's a really good sign.

such a neat plugin, for leads and basses, combining this with rift and manipulator and morph eq would really make for some fun patching

Really cool sounds, the timbres are reminiscent of AAS Chromaphone 2 but the modulation options really make it something else.
I agree. I explore Chromaphone 3 is pretty interesting in this sense.

Thanks again man. Really well explained and saves me having to download a demo and install it to find I'm not that keen on something. You're a great teacher, and I need to watch a lot of your Bitwig tutorials as I've had it for a while,, but trying to transition from another DAW is happening slower than I'd like, simply because of how invested I am in the other DAW. I see Bitwig as my future, and I know your vids will be instrumental in helping me fully switch. Cheers for being here and doing what you do =)

I was skeptical but the last bit of music you created was really great! Polyverse doesn't have many sales and I rarely hear about them - but had I made this I think I would have picked it up. Maybe I need to watch some Dash Glitch more often!

quite a useful rant at the beginning of the video. it inspired me to have a nice jamming session in Diva. sure I can probably reproduce Diva in phase plant ( technically ) but practically, that's time I should be spending on music production not sound design. it's the exact reason why these "higher level/tier" specialized plugins are worth buying. maybe we can build them from scratch in modular tools but the time spent doing this is probably worth more than the investment on buying such a plugin

I think what would be great is to have some kind of compressor or limiter built in as some frequencies go very high unexpectedly. Besides this i th8nk it's awesome.

Dude, that was absolutely sick! Also, you would swear this was another Infected Mushroom/Polyverse plugin with the sounds showcased here.
Lots of these sounds remind me of Infected Mushroom and the way they use sounds like this in their older tracks like Yamakas In Space for example, and it really just makes sense considering Polyverse has made plugins with IF before

Supermodal by Polyverse seems to actually be what i thought Objeq Delay by AAS would be.
A freebe which has some similar delay effect is *rift feedback filter * it has keytrack which can be automated with midi
RFL is great, but not even remotely the same thing imho. Imagine hundreds of RFLs with frequencies tuned to specific physical models, that would be closer to this ;)
Hey Dash, could you let him know, retrigger for the sequencer seems to be reversed (Switching it on actually switches it off)

I have really liked Supermodal. It's like a combination of Shade and Morph EQ.
I wish there was more control of the partials. Like, it'd be sick to have a wavetable/or txt import with wavetable editor so you can get the right partials and morph between tons of choices.
I also noticed that it's hit or miss with the dry/wet giving you a pure filtered tone. When you want a really resonant tone by driving the res and decay, it doesn't seem to give you purely the filtered content. Might be a bug tho.

I know u said don't say it, but there IS a really good stock synth in Logic called Sculpture that generates organic-like sounds with tons and tons of modulation and control possibilities. Shame it's not available outside Logic...

Yo. I couldn't find that XYZ EQ and XYZ Filter you were talking about, so I can't say for sure, but just fyi, you could probably do it WAAAY better with an LMNOP Equalizing-Filtration-System-EQ-Filterer... :p

It would be kind of cool if you could alter the sequence of selections in the model/xform selectors, so that you could blend different items that aren't usually adjacent (I'm guessing you can't?). However, I'm kind of nitpicking here because this plugin is AWESOME even without that feature. I've been waiting for them to release something new for quite a while, as I already have the rest of their products. They certainly have not disappointed here :)
I guess that leans to the fact that it almost always sounds good, the modal selections have a lot to do with that
Awesome plugin, would be cool if one could use gatekeepers envelopes to modulate it, I know their plugins are capable of cv, which would be cool for you to test one day with your modular

Cool, the morphing reminds me of the old Z plane filters from Emu back in the day. Still regret having to sell my Emu Morpheus to pay the rent. Also, I'm surprised that this method hasn't been pursued a lot more in the vst domain. Will check this out asap.
It's also very reminiscent of Kaleidoscope. I've had loads of fun sending anything from breaks to foly type found sounds through that. This sort of stuff is wicked for pitched percussion.
Airwindows actually has emulations of these Z filter available for free.
@@TheQxY Cool. I actually vaguely remember that being the case and the dev talking about it. Air Windows do some cool stuff. My only complaint would be that they have so much stuff that it can sometimes be difficult to evaluate properly, given the sheer number of plugins they have. Having said that, they have some truly unusual stuff that doesn't neccesarily do what everyone else does. Thanks for reminding me on that one. I'll check it out.

Yeah, I thought it was really disappointing. I love the other Polyverse plug-ins but this one just doesn't do it for me. I think it's just too niche when I compare it with things like Cableguys Shaperbox 3 and Devious Machines Infiltrator, they both seem much more powerful, much more flexible and that I'd get a lot more use out of them.
I‘d like to see a PVC tube organ resonator modal ; )
Are the Modal sounds being created by convolution waves?
I believe it uses a series of hundred of Bandpass filters
Another fascinator from Polyverse, looks/sounds awesome. Me paying THEM £40 GBP to bug test it for them is a bit of a stretch though! It’s an interesting sales model but feels too high given that it’s not even at 1.0 yet. The price would be more convincing as a launch discount for the finished article. I would get involved at this stage if it was more like £20-30.
PS could be my TV but your mic sounded a bit clipped in places 🙏
It’s been in closed beta for about 6 months, almost everything is perfectly functioning, but I guess they want to make sure it works on EVERYONES system first. I was on the beta team, consider this “early access” like all games do these days ;) yes mic is clipped, hard to do everything alone

Seems like a cool concept but didn't quite catch me. I'd prefer a plugin that tries very hard to replicate analog filters.. for psytrance having an analog highpassfilter making all the rising stuff sounds very good :D
Or maybe this plugin but with many more different sounds and shapes.
Every other filter on the market is basically some kind of analog model ;)
@ANDEW Guitar pedals I think are also great for FX, if you need analog, but it's costly, you'd need a DI Box or something like that... with them, If I am not mistaken.

@@DashGlitch it’s a physical modeling synth that uses the modal technique, very much like when you used noise as the signal source, it has an effect version, which I’ve never tried before but definitely will now. I had heard it was good but never got around to it. I wish I would have picked up supermodal during the sale now I didn’t know it produced sounds this good 👍 eventually it’ll go on sale again, I’m just in the middle of buying a lot of other stuff right now so I had to make tough choices. Icarus was worth it though I wish I would have gotten it a couple years ago.

Yeah I was going to say Rings, which is a modal resonator so it's the same principle. Elements also has a resonator section. It's cool, but not my favourite sound to be honest, it can often be quite harsh processing external input. Would be interesting to try this as alternative.
I love and hate these kinds of plugin every producer knows where im coming from 🤣
any knob on any plugin that controls Hz or pitch should have an option that pops up a keyboard to set a specific pitch or chords....this should have been standard years ago....flair from Native instruments is a great tool for this kind of thing.
Thankfully Bitwig has it and works with all plugins ;) p.s the randomizes in this plugin also quantizes
@@DashGlitch Bitwig just got interesting!.... every plug-in needs a simple right-click piano roll to tune Hz/pitch values to a key with the ability to do custom chords....add to this modulation functionality and pixie dust....let us pray for updates.

There's no fair comparison, CG filtershaper is just a traditional subtractive filter much like you find in any synth plugin with some nice modulation. This is a physical modelling resonator
@@DashGlitch okay fair enough. I suppose Reason Objekt is more comparible although it seems much more capable so also apples and oranges. IMO that thing alone is almost worth the price of entry.

Please be a bit more specific with that pretty wild accusation. It does what it says it does and hence is not really snake oil, it’s also half the price of the next analog replica with more effort put into modeling the screws on the front plate, but ok ;) do research
@@DashGlitch Yes, it definitely says what it does - with the previous statement i meant that this is something that is presented as being completely totally unique (sound quality and UI wise it might be) which is like completely new in the market, however i found these sounds being oddly similar to those i have created with Looperator, FKFX influx, Shaperbox2 & possibly others.
In this day and age it is important to evaluate whether this is something that as a music producer you will fully use in your production, especially if you are on budget.
It is not a surprise that the plugin developers have a hard time creating products that will earn them good money - the competition is high knowing todays quality standards and already existing products.
Also, is there even a possibility to try out a trial version or something before i would buy it?
your mic is super loud, hypercompressed and distorted.... should I trust you opinion for an audio plugin?
No absolutely not, it's not like I'm a single person operation delivering objective content for free (nobody live monitoring my audio to tell me to retake). It was also a brand new microphone, still getting used to levels. Also, this is a WALKTHROUGH / DEMO and not a REVIEW, if you like the thing buy it, if you want some tips on how to use it - then this is the content for you.
