Got mine here. I love them. I can't stress enough that you really cannot feel the protectors. As you've said. Very glad I choose this german craftsmanship. They really are built perfectly.
I have recently received these boots as I was looking for something that was great for touring but could also be worn to the office and be walked in all day. They will need breaking in as they are stiff and I instantly replaced the inner sole with a more shock-absorbing and supportive one (personal preference as the stock one is very thin and I ride a vibey twin). Regarding having to open the laces and the zip to get your foot in, I've found this isn't the case for me (zip only is wide enough), it may be down to the fact that I have a narrow size 10 foot and thin calfs, so if you have narrow feet and legs you may be in luck! Great review (as always) and this was actually the reason I purchased them!
Thanks for a truly informative review on these boots. I've worn Daytona boots for 20 years and only recently had the opportunity to use my Arrow Sport boots when I struck a deer at low speed, causing the bike to fall almost instantly. Most of the weight of my Africa Twin landed at the side of the boot. Most boots would have collapsed sufficiently that I would have had one or more broken bones in my foot. It was sore for some time, but no broken bones! As you note, Daytona make the world's best motorcycle boots.
I have been waiting for this boot to come into the shops. Now, the first customer reviews are available. What they say has been confirmed in this nice video presentation: you have to open the zipper plus the laces, and that is a pity. A boot in this style gains its practicability from the fact that you only have to open on the side, without the need of opening the front laces every time you get in. Hm, I was not happy to hear that and to be honest, it might be the reason why I wont buy these boots. The super convenient effect of the side zipper is what I want, and I have it in my Daytona Boots Urban Master 2 GTX and in my Rokker boots as well. This review is very well done, very detailed and well structured. Nice to watch! Thank you.
Thanks Chris for another informative review. Do you recommend any products to care for these boots? I haven’t seen any Daytona products that are specifically made for the Nubuk brown leather.
Hi Chris, excellent review as always. But of course there lies the problem for me, you have spoiled me with so many boot reviews I can't decide. I love the look of these sort of work type boot but I wondered what brand and model you would recommend to me as a fair weather rider who wants a low or ankle boot (not a trainer looking type) that has to be waterproof, and all day comfortable
I have had 3 near death accidents with cars on motorcycles over 50 years of driving/riding. With one accident, I spent 9 months on crutches and had 2 operations so I could walk again. This style is the minimum I would buy. Always wear a leather Jacket and gloves no matter what the temperature. Wearing a low ankle boot is similar to wearing Thongs, they offer no protection.
These boots might be high quality, I'm not doubting that, but in a world where Rokker Urban Racer and Urban Rebel boots exist, these things look so orthopedic and uninspiring by comparison that I don't really see the point, to be honest.
Big difference is the sole. Rokker‘s sole profile doesn’t last much longer than a year, whereas Daytona‘s most likely lasts forever. Next to that daytonas offers much more protection (no twisting) and they’ll fix the boots even years later as service. Two big points for daytona, but i do agree the Rokker looks better.
most daytonas look disgusting on their website but pretty ok in videos, these guys aren't the best at selling themselves as you said. it's as if they pick the worst angles on purpose

Thank you for your review and we are happy to hear you were ok after this incident.
Thank you. Looking to purchase these. Need to confirm my size as I’m a US 10.

Fantastic well informed vid thank you Ash
Glad you liked it!
Do they suit a slightly wider foot?
Yes, in general DAYTONA is a wide fit.
"really, there is no twist in it"
*visibly twists the boot*
