At least a few of these clips are 100% staged. Nobody is gonna look at your teams full of commonly used gimmick Pokémon and act surprised. They’re almost all extremely competitively viable and utilize strategies that have existed for years and years. I’ve clocked many, many evenings into showdown. Tried all the formats dozens of times. Have a fat list of totally original teams (zero of which utilize legendaries) and in all my time of playing, I’ve never EVER seen someone actually mock a team.

I pretty much expect each new person I meet to be unhinged by default at this point, and then it's a nice surprise if they turn out to be pleasant and reasonable. That's the planet we live on.
