If you have the economy for the mtgo decks and some leagues, you get used to it. Is very fun and, inside his own metagame, very "balanced", any deck can win very well piloted.
I was able to play a ton of vintage back in the day using the freeware MTG program called "Apprentice". It gave you unfettered access to every card in the game, thus alleviating the financial barrier inherent to eternal formats. I was able to experience the pure joy and absurdity of playing vintage Magic. I wish it was a more popular format. The modern-day equivalent to Apprentice is Cockatrice I suppose.
@@keithbarlow9701 I used to use xMage for a bit, sadly, the last update of the client and the card database was a year ago. The advantage over Cockatrice was the fact that the game controlled the rules and interactions the same way Modo does. I'll have try Cockatrice again it seems. This ks for reminding me
@@monty125874693 Oh wow. I didn't know xmage had that level of programming behind it. Apprentice was great in the early 2000s, but it was very bare bones. You had to do everything manually. No game rules were automated.
@@monty125874693 Does Cockatrice have a built-in way to find opponents? I remember using IRC to find opponents for Apprentice lol. So old-school but a lot of good memories.
Fantastic content, loved the commentary succinctly explaining lines and justifications for plays, especially for someone like me who isn't that familiar with vintage
Man I finally found watchable mtg content. Don't know what it is, but I can't watch the likes of cfb, or numot. This is the best I've seen by far. Subscriber, earned.
Abrade was cast in the end step, so Force of Negation's alternate casting cost cannot be used because of it's restriction - "If it’s not your turn, you may exile a blue card from your hand rather than pay this spell’s mana cost."
Posting before watching, but I mean it's vintage with some cards that are only legal in vintage, isn't "insanely broken" really just par for the course?
Apparently there are a lot of idiots who don’t know what a printer is. You wanna sit and play Vintage or Legacy at your LGS? Spend a small amount of time printing out copies and putting them in sleeves with bulk commons or basic lands as the backing. You don’t have to glue or do anything weird. Make a few decks bring them to the LGS and play. I can’t believe how useless and uncreative people are.
This is a league, I only upload 3 matches as it results in a 10 minute video which has the highest viewer retention and clickthrough on TH-cam. If I did the whole league the video would be much longer and it gets less clicks (reference other 30 min vids on the channel). Hope this transparency helps!
@@HarryMTG You can maybe split the league into separate episodes. You can keep the desired length while utilising whole league content and letting us see all of it as well :)
This is far from broken. It's actually painfully fair to the point of being "just okay." The manabase is atrocious, and you're pretty soft to Bazaar which is extremely dominant rn. The only thing you're really good against is the fair blue decks and those aren't a big share of the metagame usually
@@HarryMTG Ragavan is just ok in vintage. Obviously Ancestral and Lotus are broken, but they alone don't make this deck broken. It's a perfectly playable deck just not broken. In addition to the aforementioned, it suffers a little bit being that, it's better in a metagame where pyroblast is good, but also very soft to pyroblast since the finisher is pyroblastable. On the upside, it's very easy to port over if you already have Ragavans and a legacy delver list.
UR? Bro. It's been called "Izzet" since the release of Ravinca 10+ years ago. Nobody says "blue-red" anymore. It even says "Izzet Tempo" at 0:05 when you clicked on it. Also, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say people should stop calling 4-color decks as "4c" (4 color) and instead call them by what they're missing. So 1st place would be Non-Green Tinker; 2nd would stay as "Hogaak" because the deck isn't named after it's color choice, same with 6th, 7th, and 9th (also 14th); 4th place would be called Non-White Tempo; 5th and 8th would follow 1st; etc. If people look up "Izzet Tempo" they're not gonna find this video because you've mis-named the deck. Anyway, just some constructive criticism for you and the community. Nice gameplay though.
I think you are looking too deep into this. "UR" is just to make the TH-cam title shorter. Also less than 1% of my viewership is from the search bar I am not concerned about that. Thanks tho!
Um, ackshually, Izzet hasn't been Izzet since the release of Strixhaven 1+ years ago, it's now Prismari, so it should be called Prismari Tempo, and if people look up "Prismari Tempo", they're not gonna find this comment.

Yes!
very much! :)
Dredge would be cool to see
God, vintage is such an alien format to me. It's fascinating to watch. But I wouldn't dare touch it. I can only adore it from healthy distance.

Best editing I have ever seen on a MODO video. I really wish more players would embrace this sped-up format. It's far more watchable.
I follow your channel because I love the legacy and vintage content, there isn't anywhere else the same pill and interesting content, don't stop!
Vintage: "There's only one deck without blue, and it's colorless."
Really nice gameplay/commentary. You clearly have a good understanding of the vintage meta. :)
I love vintage gameplay!
more longer form videos please theyre so good.
"im not going to force because of the text in the card..." best commetary from 2022.

Oh great, now I get to face U/R tempoi in modern, legacy AND vintage... what a joy -.-
I am a simple man. I see vintage Harry content I like and comment for the algorithm
When a deck is the most broken thing but only comes in 3rd
More vintage and more legacy please
“Live by the crypt, die by the crypt”
so why couldn't you Conter the abrade with the force? I guess I just don't understand

Well guys, we did it. We broke vintage.
Another Vintage banger
Its also insanely expensive.

Every vintage deck is broken.

can you make a deck with training grounds for modern pls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vintage br is broken wdym vintage is fricking broken
*ur
delver doing delver things, nothing to see here. move along
Why don’t you play leagues?

The fact that ragavan is playable in this format speaks volumes. magic is dead and power creep killed it

Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall and Ragavan are all insanely broken to me
i dont think anyone is going to click on this video: VINTAGE UR TEMPO IS JUST OK

mixing old frame cards and new frame cards...absolute HERESY. i wanna puke tbh
Who realistically is playing vintage lmao. Cool video tho
some vintage decks on mtgo are actually cheaper than modern decks. I dont think anyone really plays paper vintage anymore though
Some GPs play with proxies 🤷
These titles are clickbaity as hell. Vintage is by design a 'broken' format. If your deck isn't 'broken', you're not winning any games at all.

vintage is so underrated on modo. so fun 🫶🏻
