Why everything that you make is good and nice looking except for the ONE thing that you ruin the sale is to make the chair stable? The chair legs are not evenly touching the floor and wobble.
I am a Vietnamese person and I have seen many individuals lose their ability to work at a very young age, ranging from 19 to 25 years old, because they lacked proper protection and had to work with primitive machinery. Part of the issue lies in Vietnam's tendency to operate on a family scale, with few professional companies. Secondly, the majority of laborers in Vietnam only complete their education up to the 9th grade, or at most, high school. They lack the knowledge to utilize modern machinery in wood processing. Moreover, the cost of importing advanced production lines is prohibitively high, and the availability of highly skilled labor is scarce. If a company wants to employ modern production lines in Vietnam, they must invest a significant amount of money in training and operating the factory. That's all I wanted to say. Thank you
u wrong. now aday, very many company in VN use modernize machines from europe or if they haven't enough monney, they can use machines from chinese, taiwan or used machines of europe. it's old but good and low cost than new machines.
you are right, I've visited many factories, including some large manufacturing facilities, and I noticed a lack of proper protective equipment for the workers. They weren't wearing things like respirators or safety glasses, which seemed concerning
As a woodworker these are actually made extremely well, I think most of us aspire to take the best steps possible for every step of the crafting process and this is a great combination of tried and true techniques combined with efficiency.
They are not poorly constructed, but the finish is crude. Loads of cross grain sanding hurts my very soul. In terms of efficiency everything from glue-up and onwards wouldent pass a basic health and safety inspection in neither Denmark or the UK and can only be viable on account of the labour costs in Vietnam.
As more manufacturing moves from China to Vietnam it will be interesting to see how the world makes them get more safe as ppl see that these factories are sweatshops
Yep. These furniture factories mainly customers is Chinese . There are also a lot of Chinese who own furniture companies. there is an area in Vietnam 70% export to china, more like chinese people buying it and bring them back to china
Not much difference. As long as the west outsource their industry to Asia, whether it is China, Vietnam or India, there will always be sweatshops with skilled workers but poor working conditions.
They got plenty of room to work in. Like the idea putting extra suport by fixing diagonal webbing in the middle. Very good. Chairs look nice when finished...

Not horrible construction for what's probably a pretty inexpensive wood chair but glue must be cheap in Vietnam...they're using about 3x more than is necessary to get a strong joint
The workers are probably not trained well on applying glue! Most glues only need a sufficiently thin layer for a stronger bond. They need better tools like rollers, brushes, or sprayers to apply the glue more easily and uniformly while not wastefully.
7:48 that is a scary machine! I assume it's like 5HP. If you slipped and started moving in the wrong direction, it would send you into the other cutter so quickly

Safety is a big concern for all your comments. FYI, This small shop is owned and operated by a S. Korean company. The work environment is typical of Asian owned shops, not just Korean. Safety rules are neglected or bribed away . Worker health is irrelevant. Profit is maximized.
А иначе на выходе часть заготовок будет забракована из-за сколов на выходе. Единственная альтернатива - прижимать этом в месте не нужный обрезок деревяшки, но это надо уметь, а две фрезы проще.
There’s plenty of safety here. Training and knowledge is the most safe thing anyone can ever have. A completely enclosed machine can still cause damage to a unskilled worker.

What a beautifully finished products ......! Well done Vietnam ......!
Interesting to see how little wood they use to join all that glue together.
The bigger the gob, the better the job !
More glue = less skill.
How different would it be if there were no cameras present?

Interesting. Workers need to wear safety gear: proper shoes, eye and ear protection and gloves.
