This has gotta be the most under subscribed channel for this kind of content. Keep em coming guys I enjoy each video and learn something every time. Great knowledge and good humour 👍
I really hope your channel gets the recognition it deserves this year guy's. Have been following from the early day's, glad ppl are deciding to watch proper technicians now 👍 💯💥 (Ricky) 😂
How you only have 54k subscribers blows my mind. You are next level man, this isn’t TikTok 5 seconds of glory. This is real tech talk. I absolutely love your videos. Happy new year and all the best for 2025
😂😂😂 Watching this video and the Mrs just said "What are you watching" I said " A guy building a supercar engine" she then said "Why is he talking about another blokes junk then?" I said " Its right up his street" and she left shaking her head lol. Well done since the last vid clearing 50,000 subscribers its now nearly 4000 more since then, great video by the way, keep it up
Watched part One, SO had to watch Part Two - So GOOD to watch someone WHO really knows his stuff and can tell you what’s what - oh - the repartee between the two of them is spot-on
Mate your content is second to none! this stuff is magicians work those of us who know a thing or two about cars know full well the time and effort it takes into rebuilding these, full respect to you all take no notice of the pros in the comments
The reason more people are watching your channel, is its quite interesting seeing one been taken apart. Teaching people about engines. Plus its another youtubers engine. You seem to be at the top of your game and the real cost and living with a supercar.
At 17 the first car I ever drove on the road with L plates was my dad’s Escort Twin Cam, from memory it had L2 cams and a bit of other work. Once I passed my test I got to drive it quite a bit. He was very trusting to let an 18 year old drive it alone, luckily I alway brought it home undamaged, but did it go !!!
Great content back in the 70s safetyclean was what we used and jizer.we also used tetrachloride which we used without any safety just made sure not to get it on your hands. Looking back now it was stupid but best cleaner. Also blowing out brakes with air line, no extraction and asbestos. At least things have changed for the better
Great content.. you nailed it with the thumbnail. I saw Chris car didn’t read the description properly so thought it was one of his videos.. however i wasn’t disappointed.. love the back and forth between you and the guy behind the camera. And love the honesty Looking forward to seeing more from you guys
I Think TH-cam brought me here cause I've just started Blitzing Matt Armstrong vids. I also saw your vid with Guy Martin a while back. Really enjoy your content fella and secretly hoping you continue the follow ups with this engine rebuild 🤞
Love these videos, could watch them all day and I always learn something new. I bought a cheap run around a while ago which obviously didn’t have a great maintenance record, I was changing the oil every few weeks trying to clean it up as the oil would get dirty after a couple of weeks but no matter how many oils changes I did it never improved until the heater tap crapped itself and it got hot. I caught it just before temp garage got into the red and even though it wouldn’t have been good for the engine what I did do was change the oil again when I replaced the heater tap and after that the oils would stay clean for months so it obviously melted the deposits enough to clean up the engine. Wouldn’t recommend running an engine hot to clean it up but I would have loved to open the engine to see the state of the internals
I miss the workshop because of all this banter, I really hope this year TH-cam supports you so you can grow the business and it bring all the things you and your family desire, all the best for 2025 the reperformance crew
Been watching since the Guy Martin days and have to say it's good this channel is getting more traction. I personally think the in-depth videos going through specific repairs/builds are the most interesting and watchable. You guys get a pretty wide range of interesting cars and there is a high level of knowledge. So not only are you listening to terrible dad jokes but you're also learning 👌👌👌
Great advice from the TH-camrs. I'm really enjoying the tear down uploads and I don't know why but if you can follow the rebuild go through multiple channels it makes it more of a story. I've even started binge watching your channel so I can keep up with the dry workshop banter. Look forward to your success.
Small world, a friend of mine in Bristol bought Ramp it up from Chris, different location now and more vehicle storage but still ramps available for people to use
Learnt to drive in Dad's Austin Cambridge A66, reg 66 CXW. 10 lessons in P reg Toyota Starlett. Passed first time I guess as I'd learnt the rules of the road from riding my Popsicle VBB 192N
17:00 It's so refreshing seeing a breaker-bar being used to break bolts loose - so, so many other folk use ratchets to break nuts and bolts loose. And then probably wonder why their ratchets don't last...
I leaned in my dads Opel Ascona, Great Car being RWD But best of all I also learned in my Mams Mg Montego EFI and she used to let me use it after passing my test Lads at college etc couldn’t believe it Great video by the way
Love the content!! If you are ever in Canada come and visit and if ready take our 458 spider for a rip!! I could only wish I had the engine building knowledge you have!!
Enjoying this show with the attention to detail, explanations & the banter. Have you ever considered or tried an ultrasonic cleaner for your prewash fluid ?
I learnt in my own 1979 lada 1500 estate passion wagon😊 And also had L plates on my parents 1968 rolls royce silver shadow (when insurance was actually priced against the risk) I was in a que of traffic in it when i had passed my test and being young and stupid decided i didnt need to que in a rolls royce, so floored it and over took about 6 cars all doing 30 ish in a 30 mph limit, What i couldnt see until i pulled back in was the car at the front was my parents in my mums 1981 zastava (yes an old rolls, new zastava and a 1978 citroen cx20 were my parents cars) with mum and dad in. Took some explaining once i got home 😮
Ricky isn’t just good with supercar engines-he’s practically their Einstein! The man’s knowledge doesn’t just flow; it’s a full-on horsepower stampede. It’s like he moonlights as a mechanic for rocket ships in his spare time.
Tornado Gun Cleaner would be nice for nucks and crannies, It would ofcourse need some kind of inclosure on the Motul brush cleaner tank. Love your videos.
Looking forward to seeing your engine room aswell Rick, especially the sound system, i can vaguely remember the Subwoofter you showed us. Ive just bought a VW Caddy as a run around, im fighting the urge to drop a DAZA/DQ500 in it 😂. Actually, does anybody know if anybody has Manual converted an RS3 to manual gearbox? That'd be ideal.
I use to strip ford engines a few years back and we used a acid bath to clean the blocks it ran at 85 to 90 degrees and we used a powder called ardrox 185 although it was mainly cast that got put in not sure if that would be any use to you
The luxury you have is that YT and it's benefits are incidental to you running a very successful business so you can afford to take risks, as opposed to Matt who is dependent fully on YT content as income generating revenue (plus sponsors). One thing that I saw a while back was a channel that had just a few subscribers, got lucky with filming Guy Martin riding a Crighton CR700W at Cadwell, I think it was, and he got 3m views out the blue. Its amazing what can happen with the right face and the algorithm kicks in. Good news on hats!
Try the white roloc bristle discs, good on alu mating surfaces. Can you not use the aqua blaster on the block and head? If you stay away from machined surfaces, but cant be worse than the wire wheel which is ok.
The cleaning tank looks brilliant, would love something like that at home! Would dry ice blasting be a viable option too to get into the hard to reach areas?
I'm absolutely pissing myself watching you to talk about shower at school and sports clubs. I'm in my sixties and it's hilarious how life and society has changed keep it up lads the chat and banter is gold you just don't get it anymore PC can take a hike. I have 3 boys and constantly being told you can't say that dad!
Quote Of The Day..... Work Faster Charge Less 😂😂😂 - the peak of human evolution right there 😂😂😂 Step Brothers Ref "No Wayyyyyy Keemosabiiiiuuu" I love engine strip/build videos and explanations.
I guess there is a place for ice blasting as the final finish process particularly in the valley as it appears to have some heavy corrosion present…. If you could get the valley completely “as new” would there be an argument to fill some of the irregularities with an epoxy filler so as to remove the future possibility 🤷🏼
Awww that "car on't road" video is lovely. I saw it before, but I love it. Kids can really bring magic into your life, like. Fancy a toddler taking the piss out you 😂😂😂
I know how much you love a suggestion 😉 how about when you make a film/music/tv/character reference you put the source on screen … you could use a battery operated system to do it and it’d take half as long as typing it 🤔…
Appreciate your work on this man! ❤
Chris you could not have picked a better guy to do the work on your engine. Plus his subs have shot up.
Wait until you see the invoice. 🤣🤣 Great content between channels.
Fantastic content

Love the chat, was crying laughing at the 1980s PE teacher comments😂. Glad the channel is growing.

Great to see the subscribers going up, well done to the team
The funniest banter yet! Ricky and Dav checking up about shower experience is hilarious 😂
There's something very satisfying and relaxing watching a bloke strip and clean an engine.
Love the toilet humour, had me giggling 😅.

Always wore a rubber apron when using the safety clean wash tanks. If it gets on your clothes it stinks

Brilliant, nothing short of, and to see you both at the end :)

Love your vids, great content, educational !
Dry ice blasting does very little on corrosion, will only remove loose stuff and dirt.
Mesmerized by the technical knowledge and the way you're sharing it.
Glad the channels growing nice to see continuation with projects
The attention to minute detail is the most impressive education for a DIY amateur brought up on BSA and loomp ommer
Keep to the hand tools its much more traditional this is such a satisfying video to whatch and the banter is on point keep it up lads
Would love to see something like those heads and block ice blasted to see the difference, great content again davlar and Rikki, waiting for part 3!
