- After a long time as the weakest class, magden got some significant buffs that now make it one of the better specs for PvP! So I decided I wanted to try it out too, and it's been fun playing it. Hence this build video, enjoy!

Arctic Blast with a charged weapon applies chilled 100%. Due to that there is no benefit to run a frost glyph on your VMA staff, use a wep/spell dmg glyph instead :) You can also use a Poison Glyph on your front-bar for more pressure instead of Shock.
You can still proc chill from the frost glyph while artic blast is proccing chill. Multiple sources can proc it at the same time. I have my warden setup so that I proc chill twice on every cast while also proccing it from arctic.
@@SinnfullDuck sure! But that is not more damage than a wep/spell dmg glyph as this buff boosts all your AoE damage while a frost glyph just does low single target dmg + you also boost healing. This is no discussion :)
@@Hexys I disagree. The weapon and spell damage glyph hardly changes the damage done to another player when you could be doubling the chilled proc which is like 1k extra damage done per second, based on the previous response.

After 5 years… Frost Warden is viable again!
It was viable 3 years ago. Not a complete ice everything but immobilize was OP

Both magden and stamden was the best classes during stonethorn and markarth (2020)

Malcolm, thank you for sharing your pvp experience and builds. I'm just learning pvp and it really helped to raise my level of play much higher. What sets, would you recommend using in this build for noproc Cyro/IC campaigns?
Yeah, I've noticed a big uptick in this build. They can stick my templar pretty good for 2-3 secs. Now I need to look into how to counter because all of a sudden everyone is an ice warden lol.

This build is still viable today, i really like ice furnace. I decided to drop the trainee pieces and go for 3 piece wretched vitality just for that extra recov

Yay, Frost Warden Time! How about Frostbite while proccing Brittle all the time? And did you try Baron Zaudrus with Masters Ice Staff? Totally like the ult gain :3
Interesting, zaudrus is a good idea, I'd like to try that out with the major heroism shield actually!
Edit: I did mention frostbite as an alternative to the double barred 5pc set, it should definitely work.
@@MalcolM. sorry, couldn't watch the whole video before commenting. I'm wearing Master Frost Staff with Zaudrus, Frostbite and Gryphon BB and I'm kind a satisfied so far. But I don't have much time for intensive testing right now...
How do you get your weapon to be all lightening maelstrom like that, ive seen a few people like that but they never say what it is
around 8 min in you say your wearing 3 heavy 3 medium 1 light but i saw helm and waste were both light. im guessing you meant 3 light 1 medium ?

With the changes coming to wall of frost (slow instead of immobilize), what are your thoughts on backbarring sword/sword with BRP arena weps?
Quick cloak is a small dot, 6% damage reduction, 6% damage boost, major evasion, and race against time-esque control cleanse / movement burst on cast. Lasts a whole 30 seconds now and will still proc backbar enchants like wall does.

What if you do not want to be a vamp, will that affect your damage out put or sustain?

Why leeching vines instead of the other morph for lotus flower (im support frost) so you get crit rate and heal per light attack, and since you're ice staff, you gain a shield with a heavy attack, and then a 4k heal due to lotus flower 😮.
I hate to be this person but I can't see the sets you are running I'm blind as hell. Great video though .
I've collected the same items and changed my mundus, enchants and traits as same as you but i just can't get my mag and stam recovery values. they arent even 1000. i looked up breton passives and race has nothing to do with rec. im an orc. how can i solve the recovery problem. my mag rec is like 780 :(
Well breton does give you some sustain, but that's indeed not the whole reason for the big difference you're having in sustain. Do you have orzorga's smoked bear haunch? Do you have the 1pc magma and 1pc baron thirsk?
Did you forget to put points into your passives
i had every passive unlocked and monster sets were on point, everything was correct. i couldn’t understand so i changed my mundus to atronach and played around with glyphs to balance my spell dmg loss. 1250~ mag and 3920~ spell dmg unbuffed. Ty to both of you :)

Why not run magma or engine to help sustain?
well I have 1pc magma 1pc thirsk. I do like that more than engine cause it's super reliable and engine is more rng and unreliable if you really need a sustain boost
I use swarm,guardian bear,winter,actic,reach,pulse
less than 20k res without undeath... I don't know how to play with this. With such builds I die when 2-3 ppl focus me in 2 seconds. I got 32k res with undeath on my stamden with 6k wpd and 13kpen feels reliable. Maybe I'm just bad on squishy builds.
Don't forget about major + minor resolve buffs and breton passive, it gets over 30k like that. Besides the build can be adapted to your liking, for example by using fortified cp.
@@MalcolM. I've invented new OP cyberathletic highly competitive build: Way of fire, wretched vitality, sea serpent coil, black rose duals+poison backbar, 1 trainee. Orc, undeath. 3 heavy, 4 medium. Haven't tested yet, but this will work. :D

I don't duel much but I imagine this will work all right there too. You should build more DMG and less survivability for duels though, so you could try swapping out your monster set to balorgh/Zaan/kjalnar and the 5pc set to icy conjuror or any other cheesy dueling set people run nowadays.

I used to hate fighting dks now my number 1 hated class is all them warden bots.
They are a bit less tanky compared to dk but really annoying with how they constantly limit your mobility as you fight them.

The ice staff immobilize was needed. DKs can immobilize and stun in the same gcd. Their snare heals them. They don't have to build into sustain and still have better sustain. They have more pressure, higher burst, and are twice as tanky in all damage sets.
Just because something is new, doesn't make it OP. A lot of people jumped on the bandwagon with magden bc it changed. Well the meta has settled, and everyone knows it's no contest. Dk is easy mode.
That's about 1 year i play with Ice furnaise but NOW it's a FKNG META. And because of pvp noobs and lazies it gonna be nerfed. Just like all great sets that became "METAS"...
Those skill bar are not the best to use as a ice build
they overbuffed warden everyone is a tank warden yet jabs and pol nerfed to the ground ohh and ye magsorc shields still scales out of max mag....

I doubt it. Dot builds are cheeks. Only reason the frost warden can kinda get away with it is bcuz it’s all aoe AND some type of crowd control.
@@Thunderlord_Tozn thats kap, double bow stamblade poison dot build is prob the strongest build in the game right now. and stam dk is also quite strong with dot builds.

This warden/dk meta is really annoying
3 months later I don't even see wardens. It's just dk nightblade. Every dk is invincible and every nb is hitting 15k incaps like nothing
