I'm tired of all the excuses MKLeo fanboys make for him. Just because he loses doesn't mean he's sandbagging by picking a worse character on purpose, or experimenting, or grinding. None of that, okay? Leo knows how he does in his matchups better than you do. If he thought he would do better as Joker or Byleth, that's who he would've picked. Leo is a legend, everybody knows it, so you don't have to get all defensive when he drops a set. He just got outplayed. It's disrespectful to Gluto to deny that, and hell, it's disrespectful to Leo. Look at that handshake, he clearly respects Gluto's skill, and he wouldn't want anybody to make excuses for him to take away from Gluto's win.

As a fan of both Gluto and Leo it was heartbreaking to see them fight for 4th place but Leo will come back at Summit and just win it 95% sure

My point is that as a player, you have to address the situation and matchup and play the character that you believe you have the best chance of winning with. I’m just saying that At the moment Leo came to the conclusion that he had the best chance to win with ageis and he stuck with it. It’s not like it was a wipe he put up a good fight and was close to bringing it to a game 5. Also, he had been playing mostly ageis this tournament so it sometimes takes a bit of time to get used to the character swap. Not saying this applies to Leo but it’s something to think about.
That final waft was godlike. An empty jump tricked leo into air dodging making the actual waft free
Unfortunately, he can't win them all. I get the feeling he's experimenting with all his strong characters so that he can decide what the best matchups are.
Still, you'd think he'd swap to Byleth when he's one game away from losing.
@@amberknight7301 Yeah I also thought maybe the Byleth could've done something. But by the way Glutto was playing I kinda doubt it. Glutto has beaten Leo's Byleth before as well. Part of me was wishing for the Joker to come out this event but it looks like we'll have to wait more for it to happen again.
@@amberknight7301 Given how he stayed Byleth for all three games against Onin's Steve even if it was clearly a bad matchup, I think he wasn't really trying to win the tournament at all costs.
The only one who really knows is Leo himself.
Leo has consistently destroyed glutonny with pythra multiple times. Gluto just played a lot better here. Leo just thought pythra was the better call since Glutonny is good at beating his Byleth too

It has been cool watching a lot of Ults top 15 level up to challenge Leo more. He is still the King of Ult, and idk if Acola or Sparg0 change that, but it’s still cool to see.

Joker is really hard to use to max potential. Leo will only use Joker when he feels comfortable to pick him up
Joker is to hard. He has to play at 100 to win. Byleth is his comfort pick. Mythra is a character he likes and is easy to play. So he's playing her over Joker. But the character clearly isn't as effective.
He played Joker last tourney against Dabuz and won, he literally said he'll be playing joker more often but not as much as he used to

I'll have to give it up, I think Gluto is currently the best edge guarder in Ultimate at the moment. In friendlies, if Leo's joker went off-stage, he was as good as dead. Whether he had tether or Arsene. And he was destroying Aegis's recovery too.

Yeah just goes to show it's the bayo effect. In smash 4 captain zack Lima ect started getting results due to bayo. Now we have steve players who are just camping and doing uptilt combos and getting good placements. Not to mention the classics run away minecart or anvil out of any vertical disadvantage

Yes Steve is annoying but Bayo was literally the only character you would see in a top 8 while Steve only has 2 top players getting good and consistent results. For now i would like to think that people are losing to those two for two reasons.
1- the players themselves are good,the have mastered Steve
2- People doesn't really know how to fight Steve yet
If we get to the point where Steve actually becomes the new Bayo then i will agree with banning him but for now i really think people should just chill.

I dont care how good Leo think Aegis is, they dont feel nearly as intimidating as his Byleth/Joker or even Corrin. Aegis doesnt have that x factor and eveytime he is off stage I feel he will lose a stock at any time.

Watching Leo and tweek tank their results for aegis, a xc2 and fp2 character, that will not pay off in the long run is painful, especially since the character obviously doesn't fit either of them and detracts from their base pool of characters

Honestly this is why players should NOT play characters just because they are top tier. Tweek and Leo picking them up again was painful to watch, as neither of them fit well with the character. Leo should've kept on grinding the Corrin. Absolutely nobody here is prepared for a developing Corrin, but Aegis is so common everyone knows the MU.
As for Tweek, he needs to cut this character crisis. He should'nt be playing 5 characters at once like this. It stretches him thin. I think Seph and Diddy are GREAT
Is it just me or did Leo constantly lose neutral for switching to Pyra? He only started consistently using foresight towards the end but then made one last switch to Pyra, costing him neutral and the tournament stock. Wario is just too fast for Pyra, and I believe he could've won with Mythra and some patience.

Leo said he gave up on his Byleth, he isn't having fun anymore with this character. If he used his Byleth there, it wouldn't necessarily have worked because he's a bit rusty with it
He also didn't use Joker simply because he knows that Gluto does better against his Joker rather than against his Aegis

He went rob against protos min-min and lost but won against dabuz with joker before at low tied and after at smash faction. And just cause gluto may know the matchup that doesn’t mean Leo can’t adapt he has in the past that’s exactly why game 4 Leo exists but with aegis and corrin it’s been killed

I really hate to see Leo use pyra and mythra he is one of my favorite players but I can't help but feel bored watching him use them more besides they hurt him since he hasn't had very bad results with those compared to the ones he has with Byleth, Corrin or Joker so I understand that they are more fun for him or at least I hope so but he is still boring to watch

Esto es lo que pasa cuando alguien realmente sabe bien las físicas de pyra y Mitra , conectaba muy bien los combos el resto lo intentaba y llegaba un punto dónde MkLeo solo aplicaba el counter y casi sacaba la stock estoy pensando seriamente en que MkLeo usa puro personaje con hitbox delgado como Joker o sacar rápido la stock como Byleth pero bueno glu supo aplicarle todo

When the DLC dropped I thought Pyra would be better than Mythra. I guess I wasn't totally off the mark. In retrospect I might have just preferred seeing the heavy hitter mode. Not a fan of the character either way admittedly.
Gluto and MKLeo were put in Losers by a Steve? Bruh, I've NEVER head of this Onin fool prior to Steve's release... and he put 2 of the top 3 players of the WORLD in Losers? 2 players that have also been top contenders in Smash for YEARS? If people really think Steve isn't carrying players, they are DELUSIONAL.
I still don't understand the hate tho, there's like 2 Steve players in the world that get good results,Onin and i believe the other one is Acola (hope i got his name right)

Jake and Yonni (that’s four Steves now) got 33rd here as well. Compare that to literally any other character rep, how many Warios made top 24? Byleths? Fox? G&W?

Ivysaur is the best counterpick versus Steve !! Look at Ddee (16, top Steve) absolutely destroying Jake's Steve with Ivysaur, it will make your day ;)
@@ethanv7330 However diamond forward smash or Pyra Forward Smash have the same kill Power and frame data as Waft, setups exists for all 3 (probably way too many for Steve) just Wario's are more famous (even though most are no longer true with the nerfs)
