    Thanks for explaining the anatomy of the knee. It helps to motivate me to strengthen muscles around my knee now that I see how that all fits together. 💗

    I love these films, learned so much (from the U.K.) such wonderful, likeable docs. I do have a problem with 'remember, you are in charge of your own health' 'cos in the U.K., one's wealth determines the treatments and early help with health issues. However wisely we might live, it's not fair to blame the individual for their health problems entirely. Not sure that kids in slums in India are totally 'in charge of their own health'. Chop off this sentence and these films would be A*. (Only A with the 'blame and shame' sentence!)

      Hi Michelle. It was not supposed to be placing blame but rather empower people to learn about and do their best to stay healthy. Thanks for watching and subscribing

    How close are we to synthetic cartilage? I have bone on bone arthritis on both knees and am looking at knee replacements. Of course, I’m listening to my Orthopedist regarding care but I like to get info where I can.

      Hi Jim. Not very. There have been lots of successes growing real cartilage however it is the transplant process and having the recipient incorporate the new cartilage that is the problem. Some day though. Thanks for watching and subscribing if you did

    Hi docs. I was recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis of both of my knees. I find it hard to stand without being in pain and I’m noticing pressure on my knees when I am standing. Does this mean that my knees are bone on bone? Or could it be something else do to my osteoarthritis? I’m 39 and I live in the states New Hampshire to be more specific. I would love to know what you think.

    Amigos, what was the purpose of the patella and patella tendon? Just to transfer force from the muscles? Are knees a good design or would there have been a better way to do it?

    • @TalkingWithDocs
      @TalkingWithDocs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Soul City Sawdog. Yes it allows us to increase the force across the knee joint as it bends. We are not about to question the design of our knees - ha. They work pretty well most of the time. Humans are just very hard on them. Thanks for watching.
