It's like they update liveries and some textures and just drop it as a new game. Fucking F1 2006 CE for PS3 is almost as good looking. Graphically this is almost a PS3 game. Not only that but it is full of glitches and newbie mistakes. Cars are supposed to be SOLID objects, yet, when you crash in this game, the wheels are consistently going inside the car, plus the physics are totally unrealistic. Again, as much as I love F1 games, Codemasters may be the worst developers ever. I have made games a lot better than this and my studio does not even develop any AAA games.

They should really improve those graphics. Look at the driver's legs, how white are they in a place that's kinda hidden from the sun. Look how black is the steering wheel. Looks like it was made in paint.

iRacing fan commenting here... I remember the 1st F1 grand prix and it is still better than all the sequels. This is too arcade-ish for me... basically: player starts at 13th... at the first corner player is at 8th (5 AIs are true gentlemen and seem to open up for player to pass through) player goes from 8th to 7th using a divebomb tactic. player goes from 7th to 6th ysing a divebomb tactic. player goes from 6th to 5th using a divebomb tactic. player goes from 6th to 4th using a divebomb tactic. player goes from 4th to 3rd using a divebomb tactic. player goes from 3rd to 2nd using a divebomb tactic. player goes from 2nd to 1st using a divebomb tactic. Player has no penalty for taking extremely bad lines in the rain, he can make up for speed to his opponent in front before the next corner comes. consoles suck for racing sims. this game helps a lot in the sucking too.
It does look nice. The AI doesn't look great, you can easily put your car under the car in fronts back wheel and they yield the corner without any fight at all. Ok, the Honda in real-life wouldn't be able to out perform anything fast let alone the way it cut through the pack, but it is a game. Otherwise you'd only be able to drive the Merc to guarantee the win, or possibly the Redbull or Ferrari, and that would be pretty boring.

you need to go up a difficulty level. the AI is pathetic as well. single file on lap 1. you can see from the tread lines they leave behind theyre all absolutely glued to one line.
I agree. Even on old games like Burnout 3 for example, the acceleration is excelent. I know burnout is a arcade racing game and etc, but I miss this crazy feeling of speed on today's games, simulators or not, these F1 cars are running at 170 miles per hour, still, it doesn't "feel" like that.
***** If you try driving the formula a car in project cars you'll feel the difference in the drive from the f1 games. i played F1 2015 and i kinda felt it played arcadey including the handling while the formula a car felt quite realistic so im not sure f1 2016 would be a sim tbh
Because it is played on Expert difficulty you dumb fuck. The highest difficulty is Ultimate and is 4 seconds faster each lap. You can only compete with them with a wheel or you have to be an alien with a controller.

Because the difficulty is so on Expert. On Legend and Ultimate i can confirm they even crash into you and give less room.
