League turnover is on the 4th for some timezones including mine, while the new season starts on the 3rd. So use that last day of the current season on the 3rd to tryout new things. That's basically 5 free sets to practise

Machamp is fine as long as you get rid of it with Ariados, and even that comes down to bait calls. Running Clod over Ariados is less risky and you can still use Dewgong.
17:50 not only would a 5 damage 8 energy Metal Claw mean HC is straight 5, it would also be the same DPT and EPT as Shadow Claw on Feraligatr due to STAB giving Metal Claw 3 DPT (2.5*1.2)
Thanks for the video! Super new to pokemon go and I just got into PvP and am loving it. I’m curious, why no mention of Carbink? Mostly curious because it’s one of my best seeming options and I’m trying to figure out if it’s going to be worth building 😅
Carbink is a trap IMO, ranked highly but not going to be as good as the rankings may suggest. It is a lot like Bastiodon in playstyle and it loses to a lot of the top things in the meta. May be good in limited metas once in a while but I tend to avoid it.

I was actually looking at it for pairing with my Gastrodon, and had come up with Gastro/Carbink/and then either Jumpluff or Mandibuzz, basically depending on if I can find one or the other. I liked how Carbink has a good matchup into Mandibuzz and Talonflame, which I was worried about, but I do see how the majority of its meta matchups don't look stellar. Is that because the algorithm is calculating against the whole field, so it gives it a high rating despite matching poorly into the meta?
@@whiskeytango1122 i believe that is why Bink is rated as high as it is. It does very well in neutral matchups due to its bulk, but most of the top meta does well into it which is why I think it will severely underperform compared to the rank. Ariados and Greninja sounds interesting, and I do have them. Wonder what a third would be - I thought dewgong but Machamp would be such an issue.
