    How many of you BJJ folks (over 40) are getting tapped out by younger, athletic beasts on the mats? Type “ME” in the comment section!

    I tapped a blue by a straight arm lock from a botched Americana. Only reason I got it was because I was super new and he did not expect it, he was just playing. Never even got close to another legit sub on him or another blue since lol but it is fun trying, they roll less aggressively than other new wights.

    hi 2 stripe blue belt. BJJ is tough! I struggle to get the tap and often get tapped by white belts - they're usually bigger and younger

      It is tough! But you’re doing 99% more than most men. Keep pushing and learning. The taps will come!

      Bro, I feel you. 42 years old, 145 lbs. Relatively new blue belt. I rolled today with a 2 stripe white belt today. Bigger, stronger, and honestly technically better. He caught me 3 times in one roll. Man, you can’t have ego in this art. 😫

    Im still a yellow black belt so I'm fine with getting tapped by white belts ONLY of they're adults if a white belt kid younger than me came in and tapped me id lose all my brain cells

      Check out Keith Owens on tapping 10000 times. A little ego is ok, but don't let too much end up keeping you off the mats for injuries. Good luck.

      Ron Jacobs hey man, just finished that podcast. You guys hit on so many important topics. I simply don’t understand why curriculums are laughed at or frowned on...it makes complete sense to me. Butch made a great point about having a roadmap in the corporate world for manager, sr manager, director, etc. A roadmap is basically a standard process and anyone who laughs at that, laughs at having standards - and I find that laughable. I need to download that roadmap because I’ve been using the Alliance roadmap...

    You knever know if that brand new white belt is a former/current wrestler or a current judoka or both. Brand new white belts might be savage as you said.

    • @midlifebjj
      @midlifebjj  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      White belts are dangerous enough...couple that with some past grappling experience and you could be in for a rough 5 - 6 minutes!
