My mum is about to be 65. She hasn't touched her face. Yes you can tell she's not in her 20s anymore but she looks gorgeous. She still has skin elasticity, no wrinkles, she's never had acne or major skin problems. Sometimes we need to just wait and see how we look as we get older, so many people actually look better with wrinkles and jowls, aging can make you look kinder and warmer. Looking older is better than looking like an alien. We need to teach ourselves to accept and be ok with ourselves as we change otherwise we will waste our lives being miserable.

@jillianbaer5217 I had a coworker that looks funky and funny in the face from all the fillers she's gotten over the years! Sad part is that, she shared old photos and there was absolutely nothing wrong with her, she looked stunning before the fillers in my but now she looks weird, 🤔 like her cheeks are too plump and poking out a bit and then her eyes 👀 😳 they look a bit alien-ish 👽 😅😅😅😅😅😅

I'm 72 and have been wearing sunscreen since my early 30s. Sunscreen just wasn't a thing when I was a kid growing up at the beach so I had many burns. I'm seeing people young and older who've 'had work done' and it's just not a good look. Not every surgeon is a good surgeon so your one face can indeed be messed up. I'm often mistaken for being in my 50s. Sunscreen works kids, it really does. There's grace in accepting yourself. People notice bad work and it changes how people think about you ie: your reputation can suffer.

Yes, as a teen in the 80s and early 90s it was still difficult to find sunblock because everyone was still on a tanning kick and there was more tanning oil than sunblock on the shelfs. I was considered odd for wanting to wear it. It finally caught on in the early 2000s.

Because you are on the brink of hitting your first ageing stage, but you haven't yet. When you do in a couple years you will answer that question yourself. To clarify, I am against doing anything injection or surgery-like to the face. But I'm also against people chiming in with their wisdoms and pseudo flexing, who don't know what they're talking about. Who don't know YET, that is.

Thank you! I hate thinking of such young women having surgery when it’s really not necessary yet, if ever. I am in my early 40s now, and based on my female relatives, the jowls I’m just starting to get are going to just keep drooping, so I absolutely understand wanting a surgical “fix” at some point. If I can afford it, I’ll probably look more seriously at getting one in about a decade, maybe.
I think people forget that even minor surgery has so many potential risks! What if something does go wrong? I’ve had to have massive, medically-necessary surgeries (like a thoracic aneurysm repair that was at the “root” of the artery next to my heart.
I know a facelift, especially the “mini” ones, is a much different type of procedure, but there’s still so many risks. What if you get an infection?
I feel like people need to really weigh the risks of voluntary medical procedures, as well as the potential benefits. With prescription medications, as well. It’s usually worth the possible risks, but it’s important to understand what they are and how likely it is that they might happen.

I'm happy with my no fillers so far face at almost 47, sticking to a skincare regimen that suits me like a perfect slipper. I can do a facelift in twenty years, or maybe even thirty (!!), when I probably will need it way better and until then I'll stick to that regimen of mine. In the meantime I'll save up the money for a really really REALLY nice and expensive facelift and I'll afford exactly whatever I want - when it's time.

My feeling is the best time for a facelift is when you start looking jowly. There is no real solution other than to live with it or hike that up. And you will always age better and look younger than your age if you hike it up with a facelift. I think for most people the ideal time is mid to late 40s.

    • @violetskies14
      @violetskies14 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@Throatzillaaa the relaxing of that muscle can cause jowels if you get it done in your 30s because of the lack of skin elasticity. Your face typically slims down after having Botox for tmj issues because the muscle that causes the issues isn't being worked so much and shrinks and in your 20s the skin will typically shrink back to fit, however in your mid to late 30s it will not due to decline in skin elasticity. Basically if you've been having the injections for a while and have no problems, or are a younger person, don't worry about it.

Have had several coworkers and just people in the wild who thought I was 42 45, etc. Extreme weight loss and fluctuation in weight unfortunately will do that to you. And no skin care In the world can fix laxity.
I have a consultation set for July with Dr Randall Haworth and I'm so excited. I just want to feel my age again. Literally that's it. I want to be able to date. Without guys thinking I'm a cougar hitting on them, which they do! Do what's best for you and your spirit. Surgeons will not turn away a weight loss case when there is enough laxity, doesn't matter the age. She is not a surgeon. She can stay in her lane.

Sorry to hear that. I can imagine how you might feel. People develop insecurity over one thing they spot on their face or body and they aim to sort that one thing out. They see jowls or hooded lids and obsess over it. Once they get rid of it, they are happy, since they are not focusing on whole picture, which might not be flattering at all after surgery. Until they notice something else they obsess over, while not noticing elephant in the living room. That's the nature of the beast. Most people don't see themselves as others do. I'm yet to see a person with upper blepharoplasty who looks good in a sense of maintaining their natural look and authentic beauty. They usually look surprised, 'done', 'overdone' and like any other person, not like themselves.

I get 1ml of filler every 6 months. That's it. Everything else I do is skincare. I'm almost 36 and while I've been tempted to do Botox and the like.. I'm going to wait until I really need it! No need to mess with my face completely when there isn't much wrong (as far as having fine lines and wrinkles)

I'm 26 years old and my problems for me are smile lines, slight pigmentation around my top lip and chin, black dots on my nose (not blackheads), my jaw and my eyebrows. I'm trying to not go surgical so prioritising skin care, face massages and changing my diet again to a more plant based diet with meat, fish, eggs and coconut oil

I'm 38 and I have an extremely boney face. Strong cheekbones and a sharp jaw. I'm wondering how gaunt my face will appear as I head into my 40's but I will first take care of my skin with the right products, diet and exercise and then later down the road maybe something more intense. We don't age the same. Take care of what you have now and prepare it for the future. Sunscreen and water people.

My aunt got a face left at the age of 36 and a nose job shortly thereafter and she got it done right after my mom got married. I looked at the photos and I asked her who's that? I had no idea. She ended up getting two more faceless before she died at 73. And many other plastic surgeries. But I think it went really well for her. She just didn't like the bumps at the top of her head

The fact that people take surgery lightly in general nevertheless unnecessary surgery amazes me at their ignorance!!! There is REAL risk with just anesthesia!!! I used to credential physians to staff medical malpractice is REAL people. I'm not getting a knife put to my face unless I go through the windshield of my car.

It's insane how normalised it has become when ALL surgery comes with risk of death! Is it really worth it for the sake of looking like an older person who has had procedures instead of just an older person? Aging is a privilege denied to many! It should be embraced and celebrated but instead society seems to have collectively decided its something negative and to be feared 🙁

Why is that a thing? I thought face lifts were done on older patients as basically a last resort because their skin doesn't have enough elasticity for less invasive procedures. I would think you could just have a bit of facial/neck fat removed for a similar result.

Also according to many plastic surgeons you can only get 2 to 3 face-lifts maximum in your life.
