Let's talk about everybody's least favorite part of playing an instrument......practice! It can feel daunting at first but it really does not have to. There are many ways to challenge the brain and the fingers and have fun while you're practicing.
To me it is super important to keep things musical and in a realistic context when practicing. We want to make it harder then the actual performance to, make the event we are preparing for easier.
    Areas of Focus:
    1. Finger Dexterity
    2. Pocket, Groove
    3. Playing at Different Speeds
    4. Developing a Tool Kit
    5. Confidence
If you focus on these 5 areas throughout you practice routine you will absolutely start to see improvement, and give yourself a chance to start learning more on the bass guitar.
In this video there are a ton of exercises that will help you build hand strength over time. I highly suggest tracking them all down and practicing to them where you can!
I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video, if you have any ideas or topics you would covered in the future please feel free to comment and let me know!
I hope you have a great rest of your week.

It can be overwhelming but take it in little chunks and be consistent

Great tips that I wish I knew when starting out. 100x agree on the "practice whenever you can.. it adds up" thing. Especially when starting to build that coordination and muscle memory, frequency is so important. You also made a great point regarding using different techniques even as a beginner... one need not learn to play "Teen Town" before experimenting with pick, thumb, muting, etc.

Totally agree - thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! Yeah so many quit before getting their hands strong enough to really see what’s possible - so I believe in building those foundations first so then you can really enjoy the fun stuff later

Carmine, my man. Just found your channel. Great videos, you’re going to help a lot of people out there!! You certainly convey the information effectively. Maybe it’s the radio voice, haha. Mean that as a compliment. Really like how you include the psychological aspect as well and the mental approaches that have worked for you. Appreciate your hard work and willingness to share knowledge. Thank you. All the best! 🫵 got a new subscriber 🥳. Keep up the great work!!

Love your channel! Are you planning to do a gig video? Like a day in the life of a gigging musician.

Thanks so much! I honestly haven’t had a lot of gigs this year but that is a great idea so when I play next I’ll definitely try to document it!
