I homestead in the weatern foothills. Just a small 3.5 acre property hillside. My family has learned so much . From gardening , canning , rasing and processing our own meat. Wouldnt change ot for anything.
Came to this video after watching your daughter on that video of what they don't tell you about Maine. She is a true professional and presents so well, you must be very proud of her. What a great story of your life, sounds like you've certainly found your place on the planet, which is not easy to do so you are a lucky man. I've been thinking of moving to Maine for some time now, after being in Florida for the past 25 years and seeing what's happening here. And also to be close to some beautiful sailing grounds in summer up there. We will see how things go. All the best to you and your family, and if I get into the market for real estate in your area, I'll certainly get in touch. The campground sounds like a fun idea too.Cheers!
Maine is tough. Be ready to work. Its not for the faint of heart. If you think maine is anywere safer, your wrong. Weve had shootings, robberies, rapes. And were pretty rural. So go into it with open eyes. ❤
My biggest challenge as I do my home searches in the Brunswick area, is locating single story homes that aren’t manufactured. For health reasons, I need a place without stairs.
But somehow you got a leg up, somebody left you money or you just fit into the system like a glove, either way, you got help some where along the way. Good for you. Yet, everyone deserves a place to grow and few can achieve it, especially if they were given little or nothing.
