Through prayer and the reading of God's word, and by the leading of His Spirit, we're able to discern. We won't fall for the shiny object (s). What I find amazing how we profess to know Christ, but we despise our fellow brother (s). If we cannot love who we can see, how can we love who we cannot see. By no means am I condoning the outrageous, calamitous comments that permeate our airways. My comfort is in God's word always, and it declares that judgment must begin at the house of God first, and if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear?

@@sA-ny2jl Pray for the power of discernment. The full trial transcripts are available as well as jury instructions. Lawyers at Meidas Touch Network have copies online I believe. You can check them out yourself or go through the videos where they explain what went on each day in court. Then make up your own mind.
I watched every day and here is how I understand it:
The primary charge WAS falsifying business records. The cover up explains the underlying charge and it is spelled out in opening arguments. The process the jury went through was to listen to all witnesses and review all evidence to determine how much and when Donald Trump knew about the plan to keep his affairs away from the public so it would not affect his campaign. If all of it had been done without his knowledge behind his back, then he would have been absolved of being party to conspiring to keep information hidden during an election.
The payments are for several "catch and kill" NDA's. The main one was the $130,000 and there was another woman (not sure the amount) and some doorman trying to sell a story for $50,000 (false claim about some love child) and they basically doubled the amount and added a bonus, it's written up and part of the evidence. Michael Cohen took out a loan on his house to keep the paper trail away from Donald Trump so the accountant did that adjustment so they could record it as legal fee retainer and that added enough so when taxes were paid by Cohen he still got the actual amount.
As a private citizen people use NDA's all the time. Nothing illegal about it, you are correct. But because of losing some supporters after the Access Hollywood tape, there was a concern about losing the election if several stories came out. Possibly if Trump had purely been concerned with his wife finding out and had paid her directly and not written it off as any kind of business expense, none of this would have been an issue.
Who knows? I pray for Trump daily. I hope he truly finds God and changes his ways. He says he's never had to ask God for forgiveness and I don't know how that works. If one doesn't sincerely accept the Grace of God, how can one actually accept Salvation? God CAN work miracles but we have to be willing to let GOD be in charge for that to happen. At least that's how I learned it.
      Peace

Christ put more emphasis on showing to ALL men (Luke 8:1, John 14:11, John 15:24, etc) the pure, agape Love of God (1 John 4:8, Jeremiah 31:3, John 3:16, Zephaniah 3:17, Romans 5:5, Ephesians 3:19, etc) than the giving of any sacrifice or offering.
"But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless." Matthew 12:7
"You tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone." Luke 11:42
Here's a quote from the book The Desire of Ages. This is why Ellen White warned our people that we should have nothing to do with worldly politics...see, this is what happens when we are
From the chapter "Not With Outward Show":
"The kingdom of God comes not with outward show. The gospel of the grace of God, with its spirit of self-abnegation, can never be in harmony with the spirit of the world. The two principles are antagonistic. "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14.
But today in the religious world there are multitudes who, as they believe, are working for the establishment of the kingdom of Christ as an earthly and temporal dominion. They desire to make our Lord the ruler of the kingdoms of this world, the ruler in its courts and camps, its legislative halls, its palaces and market places. They expect Him to rule through legal enactments, enforced by human authority. Since Christ is not now here in person, they themselves will undertake to act in His stead, to execute the laws of His kingdom. The establishment of such a kingdom is what the Jews desired in the days of Christ. They would have received Jesus, had He been willing to establish a temporal dominion, to enforce what they regarded as the laws of God, and to make them the expositors of His will and the agents of His authority. But He said, "My kingdom is not of this world." John 18:36. He would not accept the earthly throne.
The government under which Jesus lived was corrupt and oppressive; on every hand were crying abuses,-extortion, intolerance, and grinding cruelty. Yet the Saviour attempted no civil reforms. He attacked no national abuses, nor condemned the national enemies. He did not interfere with the authority or administration of those in power. He who was our example kept aloof from earthly governments. Not because He was indifferent to the woes of men, but because the remedy did not lie in merely human and external measures. To be efficient, the cure must reach men individually, and must regenerate the heart.
Not by the decisions of courts or councils or legislative assemblies, not by the patronage of worldly great men, is the kingdom of Christ established, but by the implanting of Christ's nature in humanity through the work of the Holy Spirit. "As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12, 13. Here is the only power that [510] can work the uplifting of mankind. And the human agency for the accomplishment of this work is the teaching and practicing of the word of God.
When the apostle Paul began his ministry in Corinth, that populous, wealthy, and wicked city, polluted by the nameless vices of heathenism, he said, "I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." 1 Corinthians 2:2. Writing afterward to some of those who had been corrupted by the foulest sins, he could say, "But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." "I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 6:11; 1:4.
Now, as in Christ's day, the work of God's kingdom lies not with those who are clamoring for recognition and support by earthly rulers and human laws, but with those who are declaring to the people in His name those spiritual truths that will work in the receivers the experience of Paul: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." Galatians 2:20. Then they will labor as did Paul for the benefit of men. He said, "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5:20. "

    Pastor Finley,
You have been, in my humble opinion, one of the most anointed Adventist pastors of my time.: A bright light!! My question is, why would you discount the jury’s decision as it relates to the guilty verdict of Donald Trump? Are you saying that Christians are not to respect the judicial system? Your apparent partiality towards Donald Trump is extremely disappointing to me. Where was your ‘counsel’ when George Floyd was murdered ? I struggled as a lifelong SDA to understand the overwhelming sentiment among professed SDAs who manifested very little to no remorse for the plight of people of color in the USA. Then, God spoke to me and said, “Forgive them, I love you.” By His grace, I was able to forgive .
Now, more than ever, I better understand the underpinnings of the church who clambered, “Give us Barrabus!”
Given the overwhelming evidence of the legal system (of which you suggest that we discount because we are to judge not ) I am convinced that despite the evidence, history will be repeated. The church will have Barrabus. Thanks Pastor Finley for your confirmation. May I keep my eyes on Jesus and not those whom we elevate as spokespersons and bright lights. Hallelujah, He is coming back soon!!! May we all be ready when He comes.

I don't know clearly about the history of the SDA denomination, but if there was a historical bias towards people of color in their church, you can expect that it still remains today. In the same way the Pharisees and scribes who persecuted Christ, were the descendants of those who murdered the prophets who came before him. Yet, they spoke highly of the prophets.

We need to know how to correctly respond to those who are doing it and to those who are getting discouraged by it. We need to discuss our problems, all of our problems, out loud. @@keke7085 We always pick and choose which topics deserve attention. As someone who brings a message, we always have to choose for the vast variety of things that can be discussed. It is my prayer that we always discuss every topic from a Biblical perspective, and we should do our best to discuss as much of the whole counsel of God as we can. To me, this gentleman was using this specific instance, about which many people have very strong feelings, to teach a broader lesson about how we should deal with issues with our earthly leaders. I think we give them too much of our attention and allow them to have too much power over our lives. Unfortunately, too many folks can't hear a lesson like this without filtering it through their political ears. Listening objectively is a very hard thing to do, but it is doable.

*Video Summary: "How Should Christians Respond to Donald Trump's Trial?" by Pastor Mark Finley*
    Introduction
00:00 - 02:00: Pastor Mark Finley introduces the topic of Donald Trump's trial and the polarization of the nation over the verdict. He stresses that his goal is not to take sides, but to explore the appropriate Christian response based on biblical principles.
*First Principle: Prayer in Times of Crisis*
02:00 - 08:00: The importance of prayer in times of uncertainty and crisis is presented. Examples from Daniel in Babylon and the apostle Paul in prison show how prayer and exemplary character can positively influence even corrupt leaders.
08:00-12:00: Abraham Lincoln and his appreciation for prayers during the Civil War highlight how prayer can sustain political leaders.
*Second Principle: Leave the Final Judgment to God*
12:00 - 20:00: It is discussed that although civil courts have their role, Christians must leave the final judgment to God. Jesus teaches not to judge others, recognizing our own limitations and biases.
20:00 - 22:00: Quotes from Ellen White reinforce the idea of avoiding criticism and finding fault with others, emphasizing that focusing on Jesus transforms our lives.
*Third Principle: Trust in the Divine Final Judgment*
22:00 - 28:00: It is assured that there will be a final judgment where the truth will be revealed and justice will prevail. God, the supreme judge, makes no mistakes, and all acts will be judged justly.
28:00 - 34:00: Daniel 7 describes the final judgment scene, highlighting God's sovereignty over all human courts. The importance of focusing on the proclamation of the Gospel is emphasized.
    *Conclusion*
34:00 - 38:00: Christians are encouraged to pray for their political leaders, refrain from criticism, and trust that God is still in control. The song "This Is My Father's World" is mentioned to reinforce the idea that God reigns over the world.
    *Key Principles*
    1. *Fervent Prayer* : In times of crisis, Christians should pray deeply for their leaders and the nation.
    2. *Avoid Judgment* : Christians should avoid judging others and leave the final judgment to God.
    3. *Trust in Divine Judgment* : Trust that God will carry out a just final judgment where the truth will prevail.
These principles guide Christians to respond godly and justly in times of polarization and political crisis.

Let me begin by saying that I think Elder Finley has the right to share his thoughts. And I agree that Christians should always pray for the leaders of the country. In fact not only for USA but for those in other countries as well. God loves all of the people in this world (John 3:16). I have a couple of concerns about his presentation. First, why now? The nation has been divided for years but I haven't heard anything about the division until the verdict of the recent trial of a former president. Where were you when black men were and are being killed by police? Where were you when racism (a sin of the heart) is the real reason there is division in this country.
Second, man cannot make final judgement on anyone. Matthew 7:1 is misunderstood. We make judgements all the time. For example choosing a mate requires making a judgement. However, we are not to judge a person's heart or destiny. Only God has final judgement.
So why now is your voice coming forth. You as a pastor should call out sin wherever it exist. I did not hear your voice when the people were giving former President Obama a bad time.
I appreciate your call to prayer and hope all Christians will do that. If you are going to come forth because a certain person was found guilty in his trial then continue speaking out against injustice in other situations.

They expect Him to rule through legal enactments, enforced by human authority. Since Christ is not now here in person, they themselves will undertake to act in His stead, to execute the laws of His kingdom. The establishment of such a kingdom is what the Jews desired in the days of Christ.

Excellent balanced view and can only be viewed through a Biblical context. Christ will judge us all in the final analysis. Any man made judgement is temporary as best and is not binding or everlasting. Christ calls us to sit above politics and witness for him, by clothing and feeding the destitute and hungry and spreading the truths of the gospel and the heavenly sanctuary.

God has allowed us to have a government, and He-GOD sets up leaders and can and will set them down. We are admonished to respect the government and the system set up. When a jury of your peers unanimously states, it should stand until it is appealed to a higher court. We should tell Christians to respect law enforcement, leadership, judges, etc. God then will govern what's right or wrong. Pastor Finley please don't sway people's minds right or wrong, but respect the rule of government and let God rule in the end. "Paul writes to Timothy, " I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people- 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

Trump used Christians to get votes. Trump can't even answer the basic questions I had to answer before my daughter was accepted into a Christian school. The Bible is Trump's favorite book, but he can't quote the shortest scripture in the Bible? It's "Jesus wept." I found it 60 years ago when my Sunday School teacher asked us to find a scripture to recite! I know there will be the final judgment by God, but before that happens, there are laws of this land and moral attributes that EVERYONE needs to follow. Would the majority of Trump supporters let President Barack Obama "slide" if he paid hush money to a porn star and then lied on his business reports and taxes claiming the money was spent on attorneys fees? You all know the answer is "N to the O!!" Treat EVERYONE the same; legally and morally!! What's happening to Trump now is he is finally reaping what he has sown. That's Bible too and I know God was not just talking about the final judgment. No disrespect sir, but to ignore the obvious and say God will judge Trump later on seems like you're giving Trump another pass. Trump had time to repent, but has claimed he has NOTHING to repent and ask forgiveness for. Sir, you're ignoring Basic Christianity 101 - "ALL have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God." Roman's 3:23
Folk used to misquote and use the Bible as rationale for slavery too.😮

However, it doesn't help many Christian people to see who they need to vote for. Some Christians are only at a surface level of Christianity and can't see at a depth of understanding to make the best decision. Therefore, I believe you need to go deeper into helping Christians see that "appearances" don't always reveal true circumstances.

As a third generation SDA, I was totally appalled after I heard this sermon! I had the deepest respect for Pastor Finley but this sermon reminded me that “even the very elect will be deceived.” To set up false equivalency with Trump to Daniel and Paul who were God’s messengers and witnesses - I am starting to doubt whether I should listen to Pastor Finley again. I feel a line has been crossed from the pulpit and that further creates/promotes the divide as seen in our country and our church. Lucifer loved to create a divide and at a time when the gospel should be preached, we are hearing about crooked trump. I was hoping it was AI. 🙏🏽 that the Bible truths go forward and personal opinions stay at bay.

    • @HL365
      @HL365  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'm really sorry for how you feel. It is not at all our intention to be divisive. The world is already divisive. If anything the purpose of this video is for Christians to cease to be divisive. The three main points that Pastor Mark makes here is, 1.When a nation is in a time of crisis, pray and pray and pray. Pray for political leaders. In a divided political situation, pray for the political leaders. 2. When there is polarization, refrain from criticism and gossip and fault-finding because it creates within us roots of bitterness that we cannot always know. By beholding, we become changed. 3. There will be a final judgment where truth is revealed. God is the righteous judge, and although earthly tribunals may not always get everything right, God never makes a mistake. In the final judgment, righteousness will triumph, evil will be condemned, and truth will prevail. There is a judgment coming, and whether an individual is judged guilty or righteous by a human court, God's judgment will never be faulty.
So, let me ask you, how is sharing these Biblical principles divisive? What is wrong in here that you are appalled about? What is a deception here?
If you have any further questions, please email us at info@hopelives365.com and we'd be glad to talk to you about it.

I feel that you have not commented on any other case so far as I know and for you to take a side post Trump’s conviction shows bias! The 3 spiritual points you raise can stand on its own merits but to associate it post Trump’s trial (along with his picture)- puts you in the wrong/crosses a line. The pulpit should not be used for political opinions. The judicial system granted a verdict, based on evidence that we were not all privy to hear or see since we were not in the court room. As citizens we have a right to know that no one is above the law. We also know that Trump is the republican frontrunner for the upcoming presidency elections. We have a right to individually form an opinion/judgement or make an informed decision since we each have 1 vote in November. Again, to use the pulpit to single out one event and ignoring so many other cases or to publicly stand on the side of Trump who incited the Jan 6th insurrection, without taking accountability for it and other horrific things he has said and done, is unbelievable! Seriously to compare or contrast Trump with Daniel and Paul? Yes, Paul persecuted Christians including Stephen but he was converted and became an amazing follower and servant leader for Christ. We need humble leaders who are willing to lead and not say divisive things and then argue/try to stand for it. Can we just stick to the beautiful gospel and lead others to Christ - So excited that He is coming back soon!!!

Hi, Pastor Mark--it's been many years since we knew each other at the church in Orlando next to Florida Hospital in the city of Celebration. This was around the time when you first got your diagnosis. I am so happy you're still preaching and teaching. I am especially enjoying the Sabbath School lesson on The Great Controversy. I learn so much from you, and you and Ernestine have always been so kind to me and my family.
Anyway there was an incident at church today I'd like you to guide me. There is this fellow who comes to our Sabbath School and he looks for any opportunity to jump in with his Lunar Calendar heresy. I've been familiar with this cult since the 1990's, and many of my friends were taken away with this stuff. So this guy cornered two of our members in the hallway. I'm sure they were interested in hearing the sermon, but he had their full attention and they seemed unable to break away from the conversation. I had come out of the restroom and was preparing to return to the sanctuary, but I heard this man say something that really caused me to react with "righteous indignation." I heard the man say that God did not write the first two commandments with His own finger. I hollered out, "Say, what??? That's BLASPHEMY!!!" And then I went off on him about the heretical teaching he was trying to confuse our members with. I made quite a scene. I'm 70 years old, and I've been an Adventist since 1975, and I've seen a lot of offshoots and cults come and go, and my friends sucked into them. It makes me angry to see these recruiters come in and seek out members who are wavering, or new in their faith. I admit I lost my temper, and I tried to justify it to witnesses who saw this scene and were startled by my speech. They had never seen me act like this before. I was shaking afterwards, but I thought I was doing what God would have me do. One of the two men cornered even thanked me for speaking up. But when I spoke to another brother about it, he suggested I watch this video and pray fervently for this man. I admit I have no inclination to do so, and I've admitted to God that I don't know how to pray for him. All I want to say to him is "Get thee behind me, Satan!" What words of wisdom would you offer me?

I recently learned that the Greek word translated as Church in our English Bibles (Ekklesia), is actually the word in Greek that refers to a legislative body! Remember the prophecy of Jesus long before He was born found in Isaiah 9:6? It includes the phrase, "AND THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE UPON HIS SHOULDERS..". We also need to remember that the book of Revelation records, "The Kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ". We are also told, "If we suffer with Him we will reign with Him", and, "When the righteous rule there is peace, but when the evil reign the people grown". The problem with America and most of the world's Governments, is that the righteous keep abdicating the rulership of our nations to those who a are opposed to Goldly principles. It is time for that to change and for God's people to step up into positions of authority and save their countries from the clutches of those who serve satan's plans!!!

Thank you for this message today! Christ so firmly insisted that we not judge others, but we must all be discerning too. The Church seems extremely conflicted about this issue right now. Praying that we figure this out quick, because it is turning people away in droves, even causing them to condemn us. We need to be more like Jesus.

When a person is found guilty in the court of law by a jury of his peers based on information given by people very close to him, in addition to what we hear coming from his own mouth. That is not judging. The church should stay clear from politics. They are to be preaching about righteousness and getting people ready for our Saviors soon return. Look to Gods word for your direction. Listen to the promting of the Holy Spirit.

The Rapture is a LIE. "Left Behind" is ass-backward fiction. Matthew 13: 30. 100's of millions of Christians, worldwide, deceived by the false prophets of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). Matthew 24: 24. Trump is antiChrist. The Dems CANNOT save us. Q cues the coup -- probably before July 11th. Our Civil War will be uncivil -- women and children FIRST -- for the Win-Win-Win. There won't be a Next Generation and the devil will have proven mankind unfit for God's Kingdom.
"After all," the devil argues, "Jesus, Himself, tried to teach these beasts to love one another, 1,994 years ago -- almost two full days in Heaven. Surely, the Ancient of Days will judge Man at fault. Or Jesus. Not Me." 2 Peter 3: 8 Matthew 5: 44-48.
The devil is delusional -- Daniel 7: 9-14. 10/10/26. THEN the saints will share Jesus' gospel of the brotherhood of ALL men and women with all the nations of Earth. and when two-thirds of the people understand with their hearts, THEN Jesus will return in Glory -- as He promised, and not to destroy. About 2160. Believe me or not. I seek no followers.

This is what happens when our Church leaders hesitate to speak on the Most Precious Message God gave in 1888:

I appreciate what you're attempting to do, really I do. However, there are no two sides to this. The trust fund baby who squandered a $400 million inheritance is guilty, and this is his most benign of all crimes; not just what he's been indicted for, but in his adult life. This includes attempting to illegally evict an eighty year old woman from a rent controlled apartment way back in 1980, as well as discriminating against people of color. Less nor forget raping his first wife, or denying his great nephew necessary health care. He is a criminal, guilty of all charges, and should be in jail, case closed.

Just praying minus holding citizens and leaders accountable which requires judging based on applicable laws is a recipe for the disintegration of society.
There’s a reason why all are called and obligated to live by the rule of moral (ten commands) and civil laws (constitution) so that order can prevail here and now.
In America, its citizens live in a representative form of government and have the great responsibility to hold each other and especially its leaders accountable at all times. The same principle applies to church business. That’s why we have the church manual and the fundamental beliefs. This requires the act of judging.
The Bible doesn’t say that Christians are to live in suspended judgement about spiritual and civil matters and wait for God to decide the outcome during the millennium to come.
Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God, and not give to Caesar what belongs to God and to God what belongs to Caesar. That’s called confusion or Babylon which we are called to come out of. Self government is for temporal or earthly matters and spiritual matters like salvation are for God to decide.
Trump is not in any authority and his actions are not sins against me, therefore, it’s not my call to forgive him or even pray for him. He can pray for himself. What I would rather pray for is that the so called Christians stop enabling him to continue his despicable behavior. He’s a many time convicted felon and tried and is still trying to subvert democracy with the help of extremist and fanatical religious zealots.
Christians are also called to call sin by its right name as a witness for the salvation of those trapped in confusion or Babylon. That’s what the three angels messages are all about…more so, now.
Actions always have consequences like in the cases of King Saul, King David etc. Let’s beware of engaging in false equations which can result in false conclusions and thus false expectations.
We can pray all we want but we are called to action also (remember civil rights and Martin Luther?) when required to do so and that’s why there’s law enforcement and legal mechanisms through a court system to keep everyone in the law abiding zone.

The most click bait sermon I have ever heard. I need my twenty minutes back. The title does not coincide with the points made. There is a man of lawlessness who will wear out believers and the people of this world. It's preaching like this that will have Chrisitans, who should pray, but also be the watchmen for the world who have them embracing the antichrist. I pray you start preaching for God and souls and not for the approval of men or the collection plate. Loving your flock is warning and preparing them. Even angering them, to reveal who is true, as God directs. But I do not believe you were a mouthpiece for God on this day. His conviction was God speaking. A man who has used and got away with things his whole life is being held accountable. And like the people who chose Saul as their king you don't care that this presidency is more about him than the people. I hope you get what you wanted from this sermon. Engagement and feedback that will spur you to use the gift and platform God gave you to bring Him true glory. I don't know who would surrender to Christ from this message. But it's not for me to judge. God forgive me if I said anything that wasn't spirited by you and the love for the body of believers.

    Dear Elder Finley,
You are a statesman sir. Not in a worldly sense, but a Christian SDA statesmen. Statesmen do not align themselves with ungodly men. Thus, I am very surprised at this message.
I was saddened when the SDA Church did not come out to give a verbal statement about atrocities that happened to George Floyd, let alone the injustices faced by American blacks every day. Instead, many Adventists praised the officers who killed George Floyd, saying that he deserved it. Simply put, he was a “ Nobody”,a black man who had done something worthy of death(passing a fake $20 bill). SMH!💯
However, we question if “somebody”(a billionaire) who has supported inhumane treatment and immoral activities received justice in his trial. Well, we should question it. You know why?Because everyone should receive justice. However, it should not just be for the billionaire, it should have been questioned when a man was tortured by having someone kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes. Where was the sermon for that injustice?
Where was the sermon when Fanni Willis, a leader as well was going through extreme scrutiny?
We as Adventists have to get it straight what is politics and what is simply a call for humane treatment. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Elder Finley, please do not lessen the influence that you have had for righteousness in all races of people by wrong alignments. This is not be confused with humanity and justice which is a God-given right for every human being. I will pray for you and for the SDA church.🙏🏽
