I figured out he wasn’t real pretty fast, after beta released.(As that was around the time Herobrine blew up my TH-cam feed) But I still acted and treated the game like he was. I just liked his idea so much. Somewhat recently I tried the From The Fog datapack. I ended up becoming more annoyed than scared. Specifically with the cover the screen, one frame jumpscares of Herobrines face. Although the datapack still haunts me, as anything on the edge of my screen that looks like a player when I’m playing single player, has some mild anxiety that if I turned to it, that would be Herobrine. Lol
I feel like White Eyes should've been in the Minecraft Horror iceberg, putting it in the last tier. Not only did Herobrine originated from the White Eyes story, lost media content is also involved with the story. It's about a player telling his story in the Minecraft Forums about his terrifying experience in his gameplay. He started having these terrifying experiences when he noticed that there were no hostile mobs while mining in a cave. While mining, he then saw two pairs of eyes stalking at him from the dark. The player was so scared that he started adding torches all over his house and blocked off the mining entrance to keep out whatevers in the cave. The story of White Eyes is honestly more scary than Herobrine, you could feel the sense of paranoia from the player's gameplay experience.
If White Eyes does get mentioned, I feel like it's connection to Herobrine should get special mention. Not in the way that Herobrine originated from the White Eyes story, but in the way the two entities are connected. Particularly how White Eyes and Herobrine may be the same entity (which is a far better backstory than being Notch's dead brother IMO).
For the eyeless mobs glitch, eyes are drawn directly onto mob textures. There's nothing underneath them, and nothing designating them to the computer as anything more than four arbitrarily-colored pixels. For them to "disappear" would require your computer to mess up while loading textures in such a way that, for every mob in the game, four arbitrarily-chosen pixels that happen to be the ones we interpret as eyes, are randomly, but also individually, changed to a slightly darkened version of what we interpret to be its skin color. While every other pixel of every other texture remains untouched. If anybody here is knowledgeable enough, I am kinda curious what the odds of that WOULD be.
Regarding Don't Look at the Moon, it's most certainly just someone having fun. It's based on the Local58 video Weather Service, which itself is an internet horror legend.

I actually have had an unexplained Minecraft experience that I attributed to Herobrine for a while. Pretty much what happened is myself and two of my online friends (whom I’d known for years at this point) were playing on a survival world where we had a base in a jungle treehouse. This was legacy console, btw. And all three of us went mining, and when we came back, there was lava all over the trees and things were burning. I was able to save the base, but it freaked us all out because: -we were the only ones on the server. It was invite only, not open to the public. -Both of the people I was playing with were playing split screen with each other (they were brother and sister and if one had done it, the other would have reacted). -Neither of the two friends I was with left my sight the entire time. We all went mining together in the same place, and I could always see their gamer tags. If they had done this, I would have seen it. To this day I have no clue what happened. I’ve lost contact with those two friends (if you’re out there, PuppyPrincess and HatchedWind-), but I still think about that incident. Sometimes I jokingly attribute the incident to Herobrine, but I don’t know for sure if I’m joking.
