Thank you for this video! I had the same exact issue 2014. Tried the first video thing and it didn't work. Then tried the scratch pad thing and it totally worked. Thanks again!!

Loving your videos man! Really appreciate you going back into topics that ended up not working out like this one. I started watching them all and immediately returned all the LED's I had bought and just waiting on your next LED headlight review to buy the projector HID's, tag lights and LED boards to make my own interior lights. It's a struggle trying to find ones that work and work well for a good price. Thanks again!

Thanks for the support brother! Definitely do HID bulbs if you have factory projectors. I show that install and comparison here in this video! Plenty more videos on the way! 🤘

Is your fix still working 4 years later or did you have to replace? Just bought a 2015 the switch never turns the lights off

Question : do you not keep your switch always to the far left "auto" I always keep mine there so I never touch the lights . I only turn the dial when I want to run the running light near dusk time ( looks cool with orange lights on only)

Cosmo guinness I used to until I installed all the led and hid lighting. Now I usually run my running lights with fogs during the day just cause it looks aggressive AF! Might have to do a video on just that and what everyone's opinion is 😬

I rarely use auto. I don't like to run my gtr 55 watt hids constant. I like the orange only as well I think it looks sick! Good video man. I'll know what to do if this ever happens to me.

Great channel man, I’ve watched plenty of your videos before I’ve tackled doing it on my own truck. I have a question for you and I figured since it relates to the headlights I would post it here: have you ran into an issue with your automatic headlight switch as far as them turning off randomly during night driving? I’ve been having this issue for a few months and it seem’s the newer style LED street lamps make it happen more frequently. I’ll be driving with my headlights in automatic and they’ll just start cycling on and off randomly, or just turn off and I’ll have to flip them over to the on switch. This doesn’t happen all the time, but it does happen occasionally. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Yeah that happens with mine too. I think it has to do with the improper load on the circuits compared to the factory bulbs but I haven't 100% confirmed. Even with completely stock lighting my truck started doing it which I suspected was the switch. I just turn my lights on manually now anyways cause I like leaving the running lights on during the day, it adds more visibility to my boring silver truck cause I was finding people pulling out infront and not seeing me when my truck was all stock with the lights off 😑

BoostedMotorsports interesting.....I’ll have to look further into it to see if its a quick fix. I was debating about replacing the sensor thats located on the center of the dash up against the windshield but who knows if that’ll solve the problem. Thanks for the input either way. Can’t wait to see project hellram complete, I was debating about doing the same so I’ll wait and see how it works out on your end before I break open the piggy bank.

On the switch itself, there are lights within that light it up at night .. any fix to those?

I was super-stoked when I viewed your video. Unfortunately it didn't work for me even after I tried 3 times :( I'm going to call our local auto parts store to see if I can get one to replace myself now that I know how easy it is.
I've received recall notices for other things in the past from Dodge. Seems to me this is a very common problem; perhaps this should be on the list of recall items. Thanks for the video.

The scrubbing of the contact areas with green Scotch-brite worked for me, thank you. I could see that the scrubbing made the contact areas thinner in areas - thin enough that I could see hints of the green circuit board through the gold plated areas. My guess, after thinking about it, is that the short-circuit that is causing the lights to remain 'on' is just the movement, and placement, of the gold contact material to the gaps in-between the contact areas. The next time it happens I will attempt to only clean/scrub the little gap areas. Mine was not a sudden problem, but one that got worse over time (49,000 miles, I use the headlights every time I drive as daylight driving lights) to the point where I could not jiggle the dial to get them to shut down. This suggests that it is the scraping and depositing of the soft gold electrical contact material over the course of time.

Was wondering if anyone has a similar issue with headlights that only seem to work on one side. In my case the right side is working low/high beams.
    Left side has no power.
    I have a 2003 Quad Dakota 3.9cyl.
It doesn’t have any fuses labeled headlights on them to check if fuse is bad. I know the bulbs are good cuz I checked them all on the side that does work.

DeoxIT D5 works to clean the contacts without damaging it.

Next time use a pencil eraser it won't be as harsh on it. That's what I did.

It won't solve the problem. I opened mine and you can see the golden areas are old, barely any yellow color , the very delicate metallic springs, whatever they are called need to be perfectly aligned.
Bad design for it that's for sure.
