This man is very interesting and I love that ceiling. I often wish we'd had internet and youtube back in the 50's. I think I'd have been so much less timid about trying new adventures. I was 24 and had hardly been anywhere when the opportunity suddenly came to spend 5 weeks in Africa. Best thing that ever happened to me other than understanding the true teachings of the word of God and waiting for the return of His son.
Being in earthquake and fire country, i really need something in order to evacuate and live in briefly for one human and 3 cats. Your build looks so workable. Thanks for posting.
I'm glad everyone likes the build. If you have any questions let me know. I'll try and check the comments every now and then. Thanks again Forrest Stevens for doing such an amazing job on the video tour. You're an amazing videographer!
Kudos and great respect to this gentleman. His philosophy on life is in alignment with so many of us who want more out of life. I sold, donated, gave away or dumped an entire house full of possessions that filled space. I live in a cargo van and having so much enjoyment traveling, seeing more of my beloved country and meeting incredibly wonderful people. Experiencing this freedom has made me a better person.
I shutdown my business 4 months ago. Apartment lease is up in 6 days and i’m not moving into a new place. Sold a lot of my possessions and i’m going to junk all my remaining furniture this week. I go on a hiking trip in iceland next month. After that, not sure what’s next, but i’m done living the normie life
This man has managed to catch the true spirit of vanlife. You aren’t supposed to be in debt living this life. The idea is freedom. Freedom from debt, massive bills and the status quo. Love his build!
This dude needs to make youtube vids or a podcast or both..really cool guy, easy going, and soft spoken. I would subscribe and watch all your vids if you ever start Kev!
He's a great conversationalist..keeps a good flow of talking. Super smart and nice..wish him well and hope to hear about him again! Thank you for this interesting video 💗
My family and I just bought a Class A RV 1993 old school with 59000 miles on it came across your video and you are inspiration brother need to keep doing what you doing and I'm so glad that I was able to meet you here and I'm definitely subscribe we just started our journey about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago and we're still in the making we have 3 kids a dog rabbit and a bird and my husband and I and I'm just super excited to be a part of your channel as well take care of yourself- Pavielle
You have more functional stuff in your mini than I have crap in my huge van. I'm in love with that big wood piece!!! That is amazing. I truly envy people who can make things themselves!!!!!
I enjoyed the tour of your mini van and as a person who significantly downsized and lived a month in my van I agree with everything you said. You’re so fortunate to be so wise at such an early age. It took me years. Continue to say “yes” and enjoy!
Rite on, Brotha! Need to become comfortable being alone with yourself and finding hobbies for entertainment. A love of this natural world with all it's wildlife is a true blessing!
Great build! The Jackery is a must have. I’m recovering from back surgery, and I’m sleeping in a power recliner temporarily. After a few short power outages, I developed a paranoia about being stuck in the recliner if there was an extended outage. (I live alone) So, after I bit of research, I bought a Jackery 500 to power the recliner in case of emergency. I haven’t had to use it yet, (except for testing), but the peace of mind is priceless.
This is impressive...well thought out. If I had done that at your age, I wouldn't be stressing about retirement with a mortgage right now...never too late. I am already a minimalist, I live mostly in a small downstairs apartment in our split level so my 3 teenage granddaughters can live upstairs with us while they finish school. They are all following their granddaddy into the medical field, and we lost their mom 6 years ago, so I really needed to be here for them to have a chance to start their life off on the right foot. But once they are all 3 prepared to be out on their own, gdaddy and I already have an RV in the backyard ready to go! You really inspired me!
That is extremely honorable of you. I hope you get to enjoy your retirement very soon, and get to experience the world from all the views your RV will bring you to.
Awesome 🤩 the floor, the ceiling, the bed, the everything is amazing, but that dresser refurbish is genius. I love how he can do everything inside and sit and cook and wash.
I live in a small house with a small kitchen and I use large cutting boards on top of open drawers to expand my countertop space. So I got a chuckle out of your feature photo doing the same. My grandma said new mothers would use dresser drawers in place of baby bassinets. Necessity is indeed the mother of invention.
This guy is so talented, wise, cool, awesome. He's arrived at a philosophy/viewpoint that many people take twice his age to arrive at (when their best years are full of regret and behind them). It pleases me that such a beautiful soul has the bulk of his bright future ahead of him. What a gift. :)
Wow!!! I love this video !!!! Hopper is so awesome !!!! Hopper please launch a TH-cam channel and do livestream every day !! His voice is so zen and calming !!!
Wow, I've watched a ton of these conversion videos on TH-cam and this is one of the very best. I'm doing a simple SUV no build but Kevin is super mellow and inspirational as well as informative. Everybody has their own take on conversions and that's what makes the nomad life so interesting.
You called this Stealth Camper Van, and you are correct. Many people do van conversions and then when to do any camping, they have to pull out all kinds of gadgets. That is NOT stealth at all. I am working on one where I can do everything also inside the van, without anything outside the van. Nice job!
I love Kevin's attitude - he says such wise things. He's so right about how it's easy to be materialistic and to accumulate so much stuff that we don't need. I feel this way about my life. I have a paid-for house but it "needs" some remodeling and I'm retiring in a few months. If I were going to live simply like him, my retirement savings would be more than enough for the rest of my life, but, because I have this house that needs work along with all the other expenses that come with it, I will have to supplement my retirement income.
I will definitely check out the other videos and movies it was such a treat to be able to watch the video and be able to listen to the person being interviewed what an absolute treat and what a very wise and compassionate young man thank you both
A lovely thoughtful bloke, and he's done a great job on the van. Very impressed with his sink setup, hadn't thought of putting container on the side, may end up copying it. ☺
I agree on the fact you have to start doing it as soon as possible and don’t have to wait that everything is ready in the van. When I started living in my minivan, I just had a mattress on the floor and everything on the floor. It worked. And then I found help for the rest (furniture, electricity…). Now it’s much better but still need some changes. It’s fine, no need to be perfect. :)
This an amazing job! Simple, not over done, but done so well it looks like yiu pretty much have all the comforts of home. And I could listen to you talk all day. Very calm, and funny, just a chill kind of vibe. Take it easy, be safe and have fun!!!!
It's so good to hear people talking about the journey inward when they engage this life. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't make that choice while they can. I follow a lot of nomads and very few of them are working towards enlightenment. 🤗
'Nice and intelligent, talented guy...' I got the same impression... and it isn't just inspiration I look for on channels such as this, it's the personality as well. I'll add, he has a very calming personality/voice as well. Just ran across his channel, this video, by chance... subscribing and looking forward to seeing his other postings/videos as well.
I really enjoyed this episode. It struck at the very core of why I'm going on this journey. Very inspirational backstory, perspective, and advice. "Don't let opportunities pass you by".
Kevin is definitely a talented person. Great cabinet/sink/water setup. Although the wood furniture is a bit bulky, can see would have been too difficult to give up. Happy, safe travels!
OK-☺ So I'm back Kev. I just wanted to come back and say I really love your positive van life outlook and your work on your van is wonderful💚 I enjoyed being in your company so much👏👏✌ Thanks Kev
This van build is totally off the chain.i lovee how simple it is,and not clustered with alot of stuff.it seems roomy and nice.i love the kitchen setup.
What a nice young guy!! you can tell his really happy with himself, I believed Things happen for a reason! ☺️keep rolling that tuna van!!👋 bye from 🍊County Ca,
I bet they’ve got them at Canadian tire! I needed to perform gallbladder surgery on myself two months ago. They had everything I needed from aseptic gauze to an endoscope to collect the gallbladder and clean suture to finish the job. Gotta love Canadian tire!!!
It's a well pan, for to be used either in a cold well or a steam table. Chafing pans are usually nicer (shiny). Most restaurant supply stores have them in several sizes. I prefer an 8 inch deep half as a sink but a 3-4 inch deep full size would be great if headroom is a premium.
You did an awesome build! I like how you refurbished an old futon frame. I hope you show a video in how you did that. Take care and thanks for sharing 👍

Well if that ain’t the coolest sink and cabinetry I’ve seen in any conversion thus far. Kudos to you, this is a fantastic setup. I wish I’d thought to do this back when I was young. It’s way too late now, so I’m living vicariously through people like you LOL! Great job.
I'm 70 years old you had a life that I wish I had. Enjoy life it's very short. Good luck young man.

That was one of the best interviews I’ve seen a van lifer ever!
awesome job. a small 12v fridge would eliminate the wetness of your food and with the jackery you would be good!
