Lyrically Big L was terrific, but not top 10 DOA, IMHO. Case in point, his debut LP flopped . . . and it's not that good so it makes sense why. Personally, he's in my top 30 favorite rappers ever, but not top 20. Cam and Ma$e on the other hand came out the gate with certified 🪙 and Platinum Plaques.

It reminds me of a buckshot/black moon show I saw at a festival decades ago, they were on a secondary stage while Andre 3k was playing the main stage. You could see Buckshot getting pissed at casual fans dispersing to watch Andre, until some fire lit behind his eyes and he just started going loud and hard as fuck, and by the end people were packed wall to wall around the secondary stage with people tryna mob in from every entrance. Shit was buckshot in God mode & only a few thousand people got to see it. I wonder if it's recorded somewhere, I gotta find it. Pretty sure phones weren't all cameras yet & they checked bags for cameras.
