Weird production, as all the Salzburger Festspiele's, but Diana saves the show lol This one's from 2006.

An extraordinary timbre with the full tone I find most pleasant in the coloratura repertoire. That, added to Damrau's great sense of style and phrasing, turns her interpretation not only technically impressive, but also most agreeable to the ears. The fioriture is sung with clear and rounded notes and there are always distinctive inflections and shadings. And she can also captivate an audience!
OH DEAR LORD...I just about lost it when she handed him those 3D glasses, I was laughing so hard. As if this wasn't random enough...no, he's gotta have himself some 3D glasses.
I just bought this horrendous DVD just for her two scenes...
amo los pequeños detalles que Diana pone en todas sus representaciones, como una mirada maligna en la flauta magica cuando interpreta a la reina, un hermoso lenguaje corporal de tristeza cuando interpreta a Gilda, un arrebato de sentimientos que hacen besar a selim en el rapto en el serallo y por supuesto la sonrisa al producir el agudo final de esta aria, vay que esa mujer es toda una cantante-actriz que nos deja interpretaciones magicas!!!
Yep! It was one of the 22 Mozart operas that were filmed in last year's Salzburger Festspiele.

Well, this particular opera is not so often performed. It was the first time she could 'perform' the role instead of just sing the arias. Actually, I find the swing quite amusing :D The rest of the opera sucks (I'm talking about the production, obviously, the music is amazing), but Diana's bits are not that terrible. And she just SO cute! lol
it is an F isn't it??! the piece is in Bb-Major- so an F# wouldn't make sense. and my piano tells me it's an F too^^

You're right. Well, most Salzburger Festspiele's productions are similar. The only one I like is 'Le Nozze di Figaro'.
You know what makes sense? Those fridges in the background. I mean...why shouldn't they be there? Nothing is out of place here....least of all her feet. Those are what a shepard's feet look like! Duh! :-D
Amo la voce di la Dessay, ma credo che lei ha una voce troppo dolce per il fauno. Prefero a la Damrau in quest'aria, perche lei li donna la forza che mi manca quando la canta Natalie. Scusi il mio italiano, ma sono spagniola =)
