Completing the Classroom lets you read things in the Library about game locations for Pokemon, egg moves, level up moves that are specific to Pokemon Crystal. Anything in the library before that would give you information about Red, Yellow, Blue, Gold, and Silver.

Mschl yeah, I fought him today and it was bullshit. He has the 3 fully evolved Johto starters, a Jolteon, a Tauros (with Earthquake, so... yeah) and a Scizor. I didn’t see the Scizor, but Feraligatr has Blizzard and Surf, Meganium has Giga Drain, Body Slam, Synthesis and a last attack, Jolteon has Thunder, Quick Attack, and 2 other moves, Tauros has Headbutt, Earthquake and 2 other moves, and Typhlosion has Flamethrower, Sunny day (I think), Thunderpunch and another move... I lost to him 4 times before I haxxed him with Sudowoodo, Dynamic Punch and confusion hax on Meganium... it was beautiful
that combo the swimmer talked about works like this you know thunder has low accuracy right but when it's used during rain dance its accuracy becomes 100%
The final hit of rollout (with using defense curl) isnt as strong as explosion. its 4x as strong as explosion. Rollout has 30 base power to begin with, and doubles each turn, so its 30, 60, 120, 240, 480. Defense Curl doubles all of that, moving it to 60, 120, 240, 480, 960. Yeah. 960 base power, compare that to explosion's 250.

Seriously, how would most people know on their first try that you can use Endure like that? The game doesn't make it all that clear that you can, so...

I'm pretty sure Exeggutor was supposed to be used to take advantage of Stomp/Miminize damage combo, but I guess that was more of an option rather than a necessity to win.
I think hyper beam can be learned by all final evolutions with very few exceptions, if any. I'm sure there's some really gimmicky one that break this rule somehow.

after you battle the elite 4, you have to do the kanto gym leader castle AND battle Red. GOOD LUCK SCYKOH

However if you use Explosion in Generation 2 it cuts your opponent's defense in half. So its base power is basically 500.
