Sōsuke Aizen is the former captain of the 5th Division in the Gotei 13. He later leaves Soul Society with his followers, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tōsen. His lieutenant was Momo Hinamori. He formerly served as the lieutenant of the 5th Division under Shinji Hirako. After waging war against Soul Society with an army of Arrancar, Aizen was defeated by Ichigo Kurosaki and sealed away by Kisuke Urahara, and then imprisoned for his crimes.

Aizen was an excellent villain for Bleach. He was multiple steps ahead of everyone in Soul Society and caught many off guard with his intelligence. He believed he knew everything and planned perfectly but he never really planned for dealing with Ichigo.
He planned everything except ichigo getting much stronger and surpassing him

Aizen may have a gigantic god complex but what really pushed him was the forbidden knowledge of Soul Society's origins and the ancestors great sin with the Spirit King. He sure played everyone masterfully, and complacency and archiac tradition did the rest.
the God complex came from the fact that there was no actual God to guide and decide things in bleach world as nobles just sealed him, Basically soul society created all its problem they sealed soul king then this lead to indirect creation of hollows and birth of yhwach, This also lead aizen to to do all the bad stuff he does because he thinks it will make the world better

Personally I think Aizen is correct in his belief that Soul Society will eventually implode from its corruption and hypocrisies. Sure they're reforming now but that's only because their chickens came home to roost.

@@kakashihatake6052 True that. The ancestors made the worlds divided and flawed for their own selfish reasons along with divide and conquer. Ichigo was played the entire time and though things are looking up for him postwar, there's no doubt in my mind things will eventually sour between him and Gotei 13 even with their changes. Deep down they are control freaks who don't abide those who break the rules for the moral good, and Ichigo's Quincy heritage will be a problem. No doubt his friends will be targeted too, Shinigami generally look down upon humans despite claiming to protect them especially the nobles at the top. Time will tell at this point.
I am obsessed with Sosuke Aizen. The only villain in the bleach world who I would cheer for to win.

Soul king is kind of god in bleach, and he was sealed by the 1st generation of nobles in soul society. The soul king is kinda let himself being sealed.

The novel (CFYOW) and do I hope they animate them explain the history of the bleach world. Basically centuries ago the soul king was just like ichigo, a good samaritan, strong, etc...
He was elected by the 5 nobles. The nobles stripped him of his consciousness in exchange for becoming the linchpin to hold the 3 realms together for eternity.
The soul king obliged, not that he could object anyways, otherwise the realms would remain chaos.
The soul king became guarded by squad0, who each created something historical, for example: one of squad zero is the inventor of the zanpakuto. You'll meet him in TYBW anime next year.
Squad0 couldnt protect the soul king against the new bleach villian, ywach the king of the Quincy, so the worlds were starting to fall apart until something happens, with one of the captains which I wont spoil for you.
But basically if that didnt happen, squad0 was gonna involuntarily use ichigo as a soul king, whether he liked it or not.

They actually tried executing Aizen millions of times in million different ways but he's just plain immortal and can't be killed. So, prison it is.
Plus that was due to Aizens influence in the court as he needed rukia weakened to take the hogoku(I don’t think that’s how it’s spelled but you get it)

Wait, wait, wait. Shouldn’t Aizen’s and Tōsen’s relationship be included in the background portion? I mean, I haven’t finished the video yet but their relationship is pretty important in my eyes and they met before Aizen was a lieutenant. Was it because it was light novel material that it wasn’t included...? I’m pretty sure Tōsen being Aizen’s only friend is significant to Aizen’s character.
I guess since the anime never went over when they met. Unlike how it showed Gin's first meeting with Aizen. Turn back the pendulum started with Tousen already loyal to Aizen
This video made me love Aizen even more. Yes, he was a villian, but damn it I love a man with a plan, and won't stop at nothing to get it achieved.
If you think about it the Hōgyoku granted both Ichigo and Aizen wish Ichigo to be stronger to protect the ones he loves and Aizen to have someone to challenge him

Fantastic capture of the whole bleach saga from Aizens point of view.
Although he almost succeeded in his plan, Aizen made quite a few errors of judgement but he had a way of acting calm like he was expecting it whenever he did.
His ego was his ultimate downfall cause he greatly underestimated Urahara who was really more intelligent but was always hiding it behind his unserious relaxed attitude. He made several assumptions about urahara which all tended to be false. This was what made it possible for urahara to place the seal kido into Aizan. Urahara already knew Aizens objective was immortality and realised if he achieved it there was no way they could defeat him hence the only part to victory was to seal him. With this in mind he made a battle plan to take advantage of everyone's ability to weaken him appear desperate to win which made him drop his guard for the opening urahara needed to implant the seal kido. Final part was to get ichigo to fight him at full power in order to weaken him enough for the kido to take effect.
Job done game over Aizen is contained.
The win goes to Urahara as he appears when the seal takes effect like nothing happened to him earlier. Urahara, yoruichi & ishinn were all acting when they fought Aizen but he never realised it.
Now that's how you fight a bad guy by inflating his ego while you go around constructing his cage around him. 🥂

Aizen is the best villain of all time. He was literally just sad no one was on his level. So he created and was still disappointed. Until ichigo. Tybw fights blew my mind.

Regardless of how strong aizen is, all it took was for him to be sealed away, kind of remind me of madara, a character so strong they came up with some cheesy way to get rid of them

I would love if they made a follow up series to bleach revolving around a new cast of characters, with of course summer fan favorites sticking around to see eyes and released after serving his sentence. The only thing i didnt like about Aizen is that it was never explained how he was so strong. Unless it was stated in the light novels or whatever was released after the last manga arc. The only ones that could rival his reiatsu were Kenpachi and Yamamoto, one who was a freak from early age and the other who is as old as Soul Society.
even before the hogyoku, azien had much more reiatsu than zaraki. And by the end both aren't even close from him.

He was a prodigy as a child. Unohana reiatsu could match Aizen. Since she was a kenpachi before Zaraka.

Just saying bleach and Naruto are the only anime to introduce hella character yet only the main character who never trains and only knows one move defeats villains who been fighting for years and are on God level
they train, did you just not watch the shows? naruto trained wa in the bridge arc, rasengan after chunin exams, nature transformation during the hidan fight leadup, senjutsu training before pain, and ninetales fox training before his introduction in the war arc.
ichigo had about 4 training arcs, soul reaper training at the start of the soul society arc, arrancar training in the arrancar arc, training mugetsu in the aizen fight leadup, and finally the last gear up in the thousand year blood war arc. arguably there are more small bouts of training from zengetsu in his inner world too.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Aizen use his sword to fight. He’s a captain so his skills as a swordsman has to be good, but dude was too strong to never even need it. Definitely the strongest
People forget and underestimate the role urahara played when was in charge of the pit.

I think it's symbolism, what the soul society terms as a chair in prison on which Aizen is sealed might very well be a throne of the king of soul society.

The interaction between Aizen and Kisuke resembles that between a Soul Reaper and a Zanpakuto spirit. Kisuke has to be Kyoka Suigetsu.
Just one correction from me. Aizen didn’t use his zanpakuto release to stage his death, he actually used a highly sophisticated gigai corpse doll, he could’ve used his zanpakuto for the plan, but the ryoka hadn’t seen his release yet so it wouldn’t have worked on them if they came across the scene
Aizen literally explains that he used his Zanpakuto for the plan. If he had used a Gigai, Unohana would've figured it out, and the Ryoka coming across the scene was never going to be an issue given the time it took them just to get into Seireitei, much less how long it would take them to get that far in.
