It's hard to imagine Michael being intimate because as confident as he was on stage he was very insecure about his appearance. Basically they were just really good friends that wanted each other romantically in the 80s but Michael didn't know how to take it there (plus he was still in love with Diana Ross). As Brooke noted, Michael likely had a kind of arrested development/ptsd from his groupie upbringing so Michael wasn't comfortable with sex, especially sex before marriage. So Michael friend-zoned Brooke. Then in the early 90s, Michael tried to fix it but Brooke friend-zoned him back because she wasn't that into him anymore. But they always loved each other as friends.

And yeah he proposed to her but it wasn't a romantic act, it was an act of trying to keep her as a really close friend because he was scared to lose her. I think Brooke was perfect for Michael. They looked good looking couple, gorgeous together. I think it's a shame Brooke couldn't have taken him under her wing. I don't think Michael loved Lisa at all - he liked her as a friend maybe but he never looks in love, it was for public image repair he got married. But I think Lisa did think she loved him, at least for a while - I feel sorry for her. But it wasn't a healthy relationship, and Lisa had her own messed up issues (no blame, just way it was). I think they both loved each other at some point, sure they had an amazing friendship, but they had that undeniable chemistry.
What I'm getting from this is that during the Thriller era Brooke wanted Michael (even tho she never admitted it). Brooke was the one who first approached Michael, she was the one asking him to go to dates and she was the one initiating sex (according to Michael himself) but Michael wasn't that interested in her (Diana Ross🤦🏽♂️). But then during the Dangerous era after Brooke was done with school, Michael caught serious feelings and tried to make it work but she wasn't as invested in him as she was before. He was the one in love with her around that time and wanted to settle down and she basically friend zoned him. In fact, they friend zoned each other🚮
as they said in video, Brooke was going out with him to boost her career. Being seen with him was a huge deal and she kept it limited to that only. I guess. I think Lisa Marie was the only woman who wanted nothing from him. I wish they stayed together.

Young Brooke shields are just so stunning.
Basically they were just really good friends that wanted each other romantically in the 80s but Michael didn't know how to take it there (plus he was still in love with Diana Ross). As Brooke noted, Michael likely had a kind of arrested development/ptsd from his groupie upbringing so Michael wasn't comfortable with sex, especially sex before marriage. So Michael friend-zoned Brooke. Then in the early 90s, Michael tried to fix it but Brooke friend-zoned him back because she wasn't that into him anymore. But they always loved each other as friends.
Imagine a man putting brooke shields on his friendzone😂..I totally agree that they liked each other but I think Brooke did not love him deeply otherwise she would have married him from the beginning because he proposed to her many times in the thriller era

And Brooke did love him in the 80s but after awhile she saw how he wasn't ready for a relationship and that pushed her away, plus she was still a young 18 year old who wanted to venture out into other relationships and go to college. And yeah he proposed to her but it wasn't a romantic act, it was an act of trying to keep her as a really close friend because he was scared to lose her. And then maybe later it would turn romantic once Michael was ready for that. But he couldn't do the romance at the time and Brooke knew that. Basically to sum that all up, he friend-zoned her by being like "let's get married but still be friends". I know he didn't say that word for word but that is the impression Brooke got.

I think it's a shame Brooke couldn't have taken him under her wing. I don't think Michael loved Lisa at all - he liked her as a friend maybe but he never looks in love, it was for public image repair he got married. But I think Lisa did think she loved him, at least for a while - I feel sorry for her. But it wasn't a healthy relationship, and Lisa had her own messed up issues (no blame, just way it was). Brooke would have been more stable for him. He needed someone stable, because... well ... he wasn't. Fame isolation upbringing stopped him having the solid foundations he needed to survive. Love and miss you Michael.
