I am a Buck fanboy of the USA variety, but avoid the China made knives. This due to inconsistent quality control. I liked your advice Brian...handle the knife before buying. Always good advice. I was happy that Buck must have heard you on the pocket clip recommendation! Great review as always! Take care my friend, best always Jay!
I agree Jay. If you can, you are better off getting the quality made knife, although some Chinese made knives are pretty decent these days. Plus you are not far from Buck so it makes sense for you to shop the USA brand. I have found Buck to be very reliable especially the USA variety. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the good word. All the best to you, my friend. Take care.
I’m not a huge fan of this knife design either. One of my more recent purchases that I really like carrying is the QSP Canary. I recommend checking it out if you haven’t already. I think you’d be surprised by the quality of it for the price. I picked it up for around $60 Canadian taxes in at my local knife shop. I’m a big fan of its blade shape, the thin handle, good pocket clip, extremely smooth ball bearing pivot, very sharp, and lightweight. Great for edc though the blade length might be a tad small for your liking
I have handled the Canary and it is a nice knife. QSP makes some very nice knives. I don't have a problem with this Buck knife but it is just not a style that I enjoy carrying. Thanks for your recommendation and for taking the time to watch. I hope you have a great day. Cheers friend.
I'm a big fan of EDC but i dont like an "imposing" or "combat" style knife for out and about, all my tasks are cutting and very rarely piercing. The less attention i draw to myself using my tool the better. Came sharp, but not hair whittling, a few diamond plate sharpening and considerable stropping the edge can split hair. The shape is unusual but functional, like i am haha.
I am glad that this knife works for your needs and this knife may draw attention but not usually the scary or imposing kind. Good on you for sharpening it yourself. I hope you get continued good use out of it. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
You can't love them all ! Great to see you again friend 👍
Yes. It is a good knife but it is just not the type that I enjoy carrying. Thanks for stopping by and all the best to you my friend.
