just a few years ago everyone praised the A7. But then the a7x came out and everyone thought it was fantastic and you had to have the A7X. Now we are a few years further and it is the A7V that is fantastic. Assume that this model is also much less than the next type that will be released. And so we keep thinking that the grass is greener on the other side of the hill ;)

Thanks for this review. After watching this and researching for quite a while, was able to find some A7V's on reverb for a about 1000 for the pair. Right out of the box they sound great but now I'm on to the next step and getting my room treated so these bad boys can really shine. You're def right about the bass being less than spectacular but is good enough for me as it stand right now. Or least until I et me a pair of Mum-8's. lol

I just bought a pair of the new Adam A7V + Sub8 after trying monitors from Yamaha, JBL, and KRK. My first PC audio setup of studio monitors/subwoofer. Also using a FiiO K9 Pro ESS dac. I've always used passives like the KEF LS50 Meta, powered or integrated amp, powered SVS sub. I'm absolutely thrilled with these Adam speakers. I'm hearing details in my music, gaming, video streaming, etc. that I've never knew were there. Great video, mate!

I’m currently in the process do testing the shape twin vs the A7v. So far, the twins are winning however I will say that the KH120’s and A7V’s are extremely comparable across the board with the low end of the A7V being more present and useful in non sub mixing situations, as well as the stereo image being noticeably wider and detailed.

Being able to demo the A4V vs A7V I went with the A4V. To me the A4V is the better sounding. My A4Vs are paired with the Focal Sub One dual 8 sub and am very satisfied. This 2.1 setup is about the same cost versus a pair of A7V but leaps better.

    1) Depth of the sound (3d)
    2) Stereo imaging
    3) Bass tightness and depth
Also I am curious of your thoughts on Adam A7v comparing in those parameters with those three ways. Thank you :)

Be interested to hear your take on the Hedd Type 07, in comparison to these. But maybe even more interested in the Focal Twin Shape. Because I wonder if it has better upper mids than the EVO 65 you guys reviewed? The Twin shape is interesting to me, because it's almost like a 3-way, but sitting between the ADAM A7V and the HEDD Type 07 in price. And possibly deeper bass than the ADAM. These A7V seem like great value, good quality two-way production monitors, but the Focals but could be nice all-day mixing monitors, maybe with less fatiguing AMT/ART/Ribbon type tweeters. Maybe HEDD Type 07 could be add more precision. But, for not much more money there's 3-way monitors, like the Dynaudio LY48 and ADAM A77H which seem to offer better value.

I am currently testing the a77h. I also listened to the a7v (in a different environment). Phantom image feels better to me but (again another environment) they cannot come close to psi audios 7 inch offering. Also i feel like the kh310's phantom image is better than the a77h's.

I’d like to like the look (and sound, of course) of these... but, as usual, all that DSP sound-correction & EQ curving (favoured by many companies these days) just makes me think all you’ll hear will be several flavours of wrong. Heard ‘flat’ they may very well sound okay... but then you’re paying all that extra money for the fiddly bits. I get the idea of using something DSP-heavy (such as the i-louds, perhaps..?) for a portable rig, to set-up quickly for a different venue every day, but... for a permanent home/project studio... would the money be spent better on treating the room, rather than jiggling speaker settings?
Maybe there’s a test video in that... heavily-DSP’d speakers, in a random untreated space, versus the same speakers, totally ‘flat’ in a treated room (?)
Not sure how much you’d hear of these, out in the vacuum of the asteroid belt... but I imagine I did hear several Adam engineers shouting “...that’s PWM you tawt..!!” when the graphics came up.

Hmmmm... I am not fully convinced. I listened to the old A7 in a shop here in Italy. Very few minutes, just a song, compared with another brand. Adam had a high frequency response for me unacceptable. The other thing was much more balanced. But it was a not controlled test, too short, no data about source, in a little booth. So, no big value of a test. But enough to put my attention on the AMT tweeter. I love AMTs since the first big one, found on ESS, 45 years ago.
This new device has everything to be selected, I love the trick to add a profile from Sonarworks. Well done Adam, nowadays this is too useful.

Man, I was waiting for this review... Like I have stated in another video, I am looking at my very first pair of monitors. I have the money for these but I am also debating on the T7V's. I know the A7V's are superior down the board, but they are also 3x the price in Canada ($349 T7V and $1030 A7V EACH) and since I wanted to add a few more pieces of gear to add to my setup. Baritone guitar and an acoustic... So I Hate between torn between such a decision.

The A7V’s are definitely a league above the T7V’s, which are more low-budget-oriented.
Of course, remember that there are always other options from other brands for around the same price, all of which are good performers.
Possibly look at the Focal Alpha 65 EVO? There are a couple of notches I’m not a huge fan of on them, but in general they are pretty powerful and pretty accurate.

The T series is nowhere near the quality of the A series. The tweeters look identical but one is handmade in Germany and the other is made in China. If you're looking at the T7, I'd check out the Kali IN8 V2.
