- I finally got around to replacing the rear hatch on my XJ. rather fix my original one and getting the glass replace i decided to just replace the whole hatch with the glass. Also in this video I replace the key cylinder on the hatch so my ignition key works in the new hatch. thanks for watching!

Nice, I always wondered how to swap out key cylinders. You should recut that into a short tutorial (if you've got enough footage laying around).

Just did my hatch yesterday But I pulled the key cylinder without pulling the latch out
I'm so bummed to see that garbage bag go!!!! hahaha Jon was curious how much the new lift gate cost you? Also ... that pliers type tool you used to remove all the plastic tabs in the beginning, what is that called? Just curious :) Nice job as always. The glass window will probably provide a bit more warmth this winter than the Glad bag lol
Jenna Hart haha I figured you would be bummed. I paid $130 for the lift gate. which I think is a steal. I don’t know there real name but I call them clip removal pliers. It definitely a lot warmer and quieter inside the jeep now with this liftgate installed hahaha.

Not sure if you check the comments here.. can I have a question and my question is do you showed how to adjust the rear latch over 1/8 of an inch but what if it needs to come out a little bit because it's rubbing now what do I do?
I’m not exactly sure but I think you add shims between the hinge and hatch
What size nylon lock nut is it?
Anybody know if an older hatch design will fit on the 97-01 hatch?
