  • This is a how-to video about using a dent cable to remove dents. In this video, I work on a tuba leadpipe, but the dent cable can be used on many other things too.
You can get the tools shown in this video from Ferree's Tools
    ferreestoolsinc.com
    N56 Tapered Mouthpipe Cable Kit
    N57G 101pc Dent Ball Set
F10S Set of 5 Dent Hammers
    F5 Rawhide Mallet
The video about soldering the leadpipe onto the tuba will be published soon.

This tool is very important. I do not have one to buy these tools in our country. I have a great desire to work with this. I am also very grateful for your teaching. Your service to people like us is great.

If you can make neat small silver solders, it's pretty easy to build one with bicycle brake cables and housings, a headless screw and some scrap metal.

@@piumal100 otherwise, Ferree's tools is shipping worldwide for free, I don't know where you live but you probably can have a N56 delivered at home.

Can you use some kind of lubricate to make the dent ball pull through more easily? If so what lubricate should I use.

Yes, you can use some valve oil. You can also use a little tuning slide grease, but be sure to not get too much inside the instrument.

May I ask what type of torch your using?

I use an acetylene torch for soldering and a small butane "Blazer" torch for most other things.

Can't wait for the human malware to stop circulating, so the trombone suicides can resume and we can watch you patch the blameless instruments back together. I can't imagine schools being closed has been good for your business. Stay well.
