Silver Pour #2: Using Graphite Molds- The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat

In my second silver pour video, I tried using graphite molds for the very first time in this video. I also attempted to use Liver of Sulphur gel for the second time. How'd I do on both fronts? You'll just have to watch to find out, but I can tell you that I came up with a couple of pieces for you to look at. I made some good moves and I made some not so good moves. I'd also stamp the exacting weight.

T very nice job on both the Bee and bar. Just a suggestion for the next time you file the edges. Do it over a piece of paper so you can save the filing for the next pour.

You should NOT use any filings for future pours as there will be small specs of iron/iron oxide that will come off the file as well as the silver dust. You will end up contaminating the silver and it could actually mean it ends up being less than 999 fine silver. I would get a little jar and just start filling it and one day you can either scrap it or make a standalone "scrap bar"

Nice job T making safety changes. Harbor freight has a blue vice that articulates in any direction to hold your pieces use cardboard in the vice to keep from marring the pour. also, to steady your pours you can use a brick to set the bottom edge of the crucible on and teeter down to the mold. Your pour lines are looking good. keep having fun,
