Very nice review! I just bought the newer Aspen 41L version on a Black Friday sale - I'm trying to get as much solar-powered equipment as I can for traveling and camping, and the BougeRV gear looks really good. Thanks for your video!
I looked on their website as well and couldn't find it. I did notice it comes with a new CRPRO30 fridge now but not shown as available separately. I reached out to my contact at BougeRV and will let you know what I find out.
@sportshobbycollector3327, I heard back from my contact at BougeRV and they informed me the short DC power cable is not available for sale. But if you really want one for your fridge to contact their customer service and they should provide you with the shorter cable.
@@TH-camNathanShorts yes you can add ice to the fridge and even run it as a freezer to keep ice or ice cream. The more cold things in the fridge and more volume filled up the more efficiently it will run thus saving power. It does generate some heat when the compressor kicks on but nothing crazy, you won't burn yourself with it or heat up a space. You do need to allow some space around the compressor area for it to circulate air and vent.
Hi, great review, but i was wondering... What if i want to make it so that when i drive around, the fridge stays on with the DC Power from the battery and at the same time, the battery gets charged? Is it possible to attach the battery to the DC power of the car and then the battery to the fridge? So that the battery gets charged and the fridge always stays on?
@Metyu93, great question! I haven't tried charging the battery and having it run the fridge at the same time, I don't know if it can be done. My suggestion would be if you have two DC outlets have one charge the battery pack and the other run the fridge while the vehicle is running. When you turn the vehicle off then switch over to battery power.
Gracias
@joekeating9321, it's been a great fridge and battery combo for its portability and versatility. I can see how buying the Ryobi fridge would be handy since you already have the batteries.
I've had a good experience communicating with BougeRV. The CRPRO30 comes with a 2 year warranty. Have you had any personal issues with their products and customer service?
@thelittlelim, there are lots of factors so it's hard to say exactly. But if it's pre chilled and set around 35 I would say on a 35 deg day it may last several days since the fridge isn't running much. If it's 90 and in the direct sunlight maybe 6 hours or more.
I haven't used the fridge in 110 degree temps yet. I think it will depend on several factors; is it exposed to direct sunlight, is it in an AC vehicle, is it running off DC power or the portable battery, is it in max or eco mode, is it full or mostly empty, were the contents you put in it cold before hand, was it pre-chilled. I've ran it off the portable battery in direct sunlight on a boat in 90 degree temps and it kept my drinks and snacks cold for the day out on the water.

@michaellubrecht7224, thank you! I highly recommend BougeRV products, they are high quality with great customer service.
Good review. Just bought one for Cyber Friday,
@jwest150, great choice, we love this fridge!
It would be nice to have a basket on one side for easy access to food. Though mine has been just fine.
@@PaznThru56 that's a great point, a basket would be nice to have.
Just got it out of the box and went to use it...light doesn't work...
@jdstarek, that's just bad luck. Contact BougeRV customer support they will get you taken care of.
Could you give to me the part # for the 20" DC power cable. BougeRV does not show it as an option. Thanks
@stevewynn2517, I've reached out to my contact at BougeRV to find out and will let you know.
Where did you get the 20 inch power cord? Can’t find it on Amazon or the bougerv site.. thanks.. great video!

Can you add ice also to make the battery last a little longer, or will that possibly damage the fridge? Also, does it generate a lot of heat?

@@amadorvfr I haven't tried this yet but once try it out I'll report back to let you know if it works.
Great video. Thinking of this or Ryobi version as I have many 18v batteries.

Many people have complained about apathetic customer support when they have a failure (which is not uncommon).

How long might a battery last on ~35deg on a 90deg day.
