    I'm tempted to do this mainly to get ahead on christmas and my rent, every time rent rolls around it ends up taking my entire paycheck and when christmas comes around I literally have nothing left after bills. I think doing this will help! I get paid bi weekly so if I start next year and put $20 away each paycheck I'll have $400 to spend for Christmas.

      Good for you. No need to start with 10 categories. You can start with just two.

    i have watched so many videos trying to start this method and could never stick to it! Your video and set up is the least complicated one and honestly, easier to follow and stick to! I hope I can stick to it for 2024. Thanks

    I love your logic and your categories make sense and it looks so much simpler than when i first started and felt like everything needed their own envelope.
    Next time, you can make the counting easier though ;) :
    When you do the little stripes, group them - four stripes horizontally, fifth vertically crossing the four. Leave a little space and do it again. That makes each small group a group of five, so when you count them in the end, you can easily see 3 groups of 5 plus 2 stripes equals 17.
    It was taught to me by an accountant, who said they did it it speed up their work in her youth, when everything was still in cash. I hope that helps, have fun!

    I always get stuck at the beginning because my income for the month is less than my expenses.

      Look up bare bones Budget. Necessities first, leave the wants off. If you're good, you have a spending problem. If it still isn't working, it's an income problem .

    I am 23 and already in 3k debt, and soon to be in student debt. Not sure how or where to start, but your video just gave me hope & a better understanding in budgeting! I am getting into cash stuffing too (not sure if that is the same as this bugeting method), but I think I am just unsure with the bank stuff. Do we just walk up to them and request "hey, I need these bills" and thats it?

    • @princessbudgets
      @princessbudgets  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! It is the same method and you would just need to fill out a tellers slip and hand it to the bank teller

  • @sandyg4947

    I’m thinking of trying cash stuffing but what no one explains exactly is where does the cash come from if you have direct deposit? Do I go to the bank and take money out every Friday? How do I know how much to take out?

    • @princessbudgets
      @princessbudgets  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I get paid direct deposit and I choose how much to pay myself based on my budget and savings goals

  • @rodneybeck1980
    @rodneybeck1980 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    i want ot try this but what is the main reason for cash stuffing? why couldnt we just keep it in the bank? especially if alot of peoples bills are taken out each monthy automatically

    • @princessbudgets
      @princessbudgets  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! So, most of us mainly cash stuff to physically see where each dollar is going. I am not as disciplined to keep track of my finances online but I do know some people who find that it works best for them so, it’s just a personal preference ❤️

    • @DavidEVogel
      @DavidEVogel 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The reason that stuffing envelopes works is because it is cash. Its “real” money. Families have digital bank accounts and they are up to their eyeballs in debt.

    • @Ellaodi
      @Ellaodi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It works if you have extra in the bank, hence the "one month ahead" fund. But otherwise, I use play money and placeholdersand transfer to my savings at end of pay period. And keep track of what it's all for so I don't see money in my savings and think I can spend willy nilly. I only take out cash for tips and shopping bc I'm much less likely to spend if I use cash, and that's my problem. But everything else is digital.
